First time to this place and had no idea what to expect. I had the chicken with sausage gravy. Definitely do not order to go. Chicken: well seasoned and crispy Sausage gravy: well seasoned and nice spicy touch When both items were combined it was not that good. Too many flavors competing for my taste buds. Service was fast and courteous. Will not repeat. Not my cup of tea.

DELICIOUS. The biscuits are fluffy, buttery, and warm. The chicken is perfectly fried. I love this place.

The biscuit was amazing! I ordered it with an egg and sausage gravy. Very good but next time Id ask them to go light on the gravy. It was a bit too much. Also had an Iced Maple Vanilla Latte. It was good but a little too sweet. We were in a rush so I look forward to trying it again when I have more time to see the options. Cute place amd great fast service.

I finally tried this place over the weekend after I was hit by a strong craving for biscuits! I had no idea what to expect, but when I arrived on Saturday at 9am, I was met with a lively restaurant with a crowd that lets you know the food is good but doesn’t prevent you from getting the food. The menu has lots of options, but I decided to go with the five, which comes with sausage gravy, bacon, fried chicken and cheese, with the gravy on the side. The guy who took my order was very friendly and identified my order by what street I grew up on. I found a seat and was happy to hear the name of my childhood street called so I could dig into my biscuit. I would like to consider myself a biscuit connoisseur, and overall the biscuit was pretty good. It was flaky and buttery, and nice hearty size. The combination with the gravy was amazing. I ended up deconstructing my biscuit a bit because the chicken was a little hard and over breaded for my taste, and probably in the future I would order the Ralphie, which is just a biscuit with gravy. Overall I really liked this place, but would probably return only when I’m craving a biscuit, as the menu is pretty much limited to that(not that that’s a bad thing). It’s also a nice place to meet friends if you go at a time that isn’t super crowded. The only big downside of this place is that they are closed on Sunday’s, so not an option for Sunday brunch. I will definitely be returning to Maple Street though!

I love when places are actually as good as Unilocal builds them up to be!!! What a yummy, happy, little delicious place for breakfast or lunch! The five and dime is a must — a perfect, buttery biscuit with an egg, bacon and smothered in a rich, thick, delicious sausage gravy. We also tried the iron goat was a biscuit with sautéed spinach and goat cheese. Very good! And the hash ups(generously cut potatoes with ham, red and green peppers, onions, and melted cheese) were a perfect side dish.

Delicious fast casual restaurant. Great biscuits, chicken and coffee. Went for a late breakfast, hubby was able to get eggs. I had the chicken biscuit with homemade jam. Tasty and filling. Maple coffee was all very good.

Driving to Tampa Bay from Houston, Texas. Saw the menu and I had to stop by! Micheal, our server, was super helpful. Going with the street theme they don’t ask for your name when your order is ready. They ask for the street you grew up on, which I think was pretty cool. I ordered The Five & Dime, AHHHMAZING!!, the gravy was on point! Side order of grits and mac&cheese they also were bomb. After everything was ordered and ate, Micheal even brought a iced cinnamon pecan to try. GAHH! So good! Really recommend this place. Outside sitting is nice, & the inside is spacious. Parking gets full but I got here at 7:30am so no issue. If you are around the FSU campus this is a must stop spot.

This is arguably one of the best places for breakfast in Tallahassee. Everything is great there from the food to the service. They have quality ingredients which makes their biscuits all the better. My personal favorite is the Five and Dime, which is a biscuit with fried chicken, bacon, cheddar cheese, a fried egg, and the best sausage gravy that I’ve ever had. The first few times that we came here, severs brought out two free glazed pecan biscuits(which were also delicious). We’ve gone back so many times and have yet to be disappointed. This place is so good that I could eat it three meals a day, and I always look forward to my next visit. This is definitely the place to go if you are craving something unique and delicious. I garuntee that you will leave this place feeling better than when you walked in.

Not so great the food was cold and it wasn’t busy. We walked right up to the counter to put our order in and before we sat down it was up. The food was cold. I didn’t think it was anything great… same southern food with different combination. It’s worth a try for foodies — but nothing amazing.

What else can be said about this delicious biscuit company?! When you combine fried chicken and biscuits, you get something magical. Then you top that with gravy, cheese, collard greens, and/or syrup? You’ve got something uniquely special. Need coffee? You do now. I suggest the maple coffee. Pro tip: you can get a togo cup once you’re ready to leave. Instead of your name, they’ll ask you the question of the month. Get creative! Ex: where do you want to travel this summer? My answer: The Moon!(Why not?) Breakfast, lunch, and dinner, fried chicken in a biscuit is always a good call.

Amazing fast-casual dining. Food is stellar, mind-blowingly savory and rich. Employees are always nice, which is so rare and refreshing for a college town restaurant! Who knew biscuits could be so good! Get the side order of hashbrowns! Amazing. Only downside is one time I ordered it and got a heaping plate full. The second time I got barely half the amount as the first time. Otherwise it’d be 5 stars!

Maple Street Biscuit company is one of Tallahassee’s new well known spots. This ‘Southern’ breakfast restaurant is known for one thing and one thing only, the biscuits. There are so many different types of biscuit combinations that are sold here. Sandwiches with chicken and sausage gravy, fried eggs and even goat cheese! I decided to try«The Five» a biscuit with fried chicken, pecan smoked bacon, cheddar cheese and sausage gravy. The biscuit came out relatively fast and was pretty big. The food was relatively good and the ambiance is nice as well. The price of each sandwich is relatively cheap and you shouldn’t spend over 10 $ for yourself unless you want extra. I gave MSBC4 stars because although the food was good and the ambiance was inviting the hype of the store kind of got the better of me.

Jacksonville’s favorite purveyor of biscuits as big as your head(wait, that’s the place across the street) has landed in Tallahassee! Service is friendly(love the questions they ask when you order) and the place is spotless. As for the food, well it’s delicious. For the full Maple Street experience order the Squawking Goat(a fluffy biscuit topped with a fried chicken breast, a generous dollop of goat cheese, and then slathered in pepper jelly), a side of hashups and a mug of their maple coffee(with a dash or two of maple simple syrup). Fuel up with this and you are ready to face anything that comes your way(including a nap).

After conducting some preliminary research online for new and delicious places for breakfast, Maple Street Biscuit was a resounding must try. I bookmarked it and when I was in Tallahassee this past weekend, I was able to give it a try. The restaurant is located in the bottom of an apartment building in Call Street near the FSU Stadium. The parking is quite difficult and to be honest almost prevented me from trying the restaurant. There is some street parking and some parking in the garage but after circling the block 3x I only got a spot because I caught someone leaving. When I entered the restaurant the line was long but flowing quickly. The menu was full of so many things I wanted to try that it was hard to decide. After placing my order I was shocked to find they asked me who I would like to share a meal with. That was how they identified my order so when it was ready, they called Beyonce and I knew it was mine. I sampled two of the biscuits: the Sticky Maple and the The Retro. I enjoyed them both. The Sticky Maple is a great sandwich for someone like me who has a bit of a sweet tooth. It’s topped with fried chicken, bacon and maple syrup which is a perfect combination to me. The Reto was a traditional breakfast sandwich with bacon, eggs and cheese. It was good but I must admit, I thought I had ordered a chicken biscuit with egg, bacon and cheese so I was a bit disappointed when I got home and discovered the chicken was missing. Nonetheless, it was an awesome breakfast sandwich — much better than the fast food alternative and even many casual dining establishments. The biscut is light and fluffy and makes a perfect base for the fresh ingredients used to top them. Needless to say I will definitely return the next time I am in town. In fact we planned on going again the following day but it was Sunday and they are closed. I really hope we get a franchise in my local area because I would surely be a regular.

This place was so nice and the food was oh so yummy. Great ambiance and friendly service. Outdoor seating for when the weather cooperates. Lines moved quickly and your food is out in no time. We will be back for more!

I live in Jacksonville where Maple Street Biscuit originated from. When in Tallahassee for business and looking for a good breakfast spot that uses good quality ingredients and of course a great cup of coffee, I was very happy to see this location and the quality is great at all locations I have been to. It was a pleasure to speak with Michael the managing partner and also his friendly staff. Treat yourself right and go to maple street for breakfast or lunch.

A unique spin on breakfast food. The name alone makes my mouth water. I actually had the oatmeal because it was a super cold morning, but I also knew that I would be able to clean up the plates of the girls and they didn’t disappoint! Even as the biscuits had cooled they were soft and buttery. MSBC needs to come to GA!

I totally love Maple Street Biscuit Company and I make it a point to stop by every time I come back to Tallahassee. Think every type of biscuit you could possibly imagine, add a boatload of flavor, quick service and you’ve got MSBC. I’ve ordered biscuits with sausage gravy, biscuits with cheese, biscuits with jelly. All have been really delicious, maybe some of the best biscuits I’ve ever had. The last time I went into Maple Street, I ordered the Squawking Goat, which is a biscuit with fried chicken and a fried goat cheese medallion topped with pepper jelly. O. M. G. That is all. Well, it’s not all, because this IS Unilocal and I do have to elaborate. The fried chicken is not too greasy, and the goat cheese is rich and creamy. But topped with the pepper jelly, this biscuit sends you on a first class trip to heaven. Seriously so good. The sausage gravy is definitely worth getting, as is the bacon. The ordering concept is really cute because they don’t ask you for your name for your order — instead, they ask you a random question. When I went New Year’s Day, they asked what the best moment of 2015 was. On Halloween they asked what your favorite Halloween costume was. So each day it’s something different. Prices are fair and the service is usually really friendly. All in all, a great addition to the Tallahassee food scene. Go, quick!

This updated review changes nothing. The food, the service, and the establishment itself is absolutely still five stars. My boyfriend and I woke up really late yesterday, around 5−6pm.(We both work night shifts and get off at 7am.) We both wanted breakfast because it’s obviously the best meal of the day and your options severely decrease when you’re looking for breakfast at 6pm. Clear choice was Maple Street. My boyfriend ordered The Farmer based on Michael’s suggestion and got maple tap coffee. He initially thought The Farmer would be too sweet because of the apple butter, but was glad he ordered it. The saltiness of the cheese, bacon, and chicken complimented the sweetness of the apple butter so incredibly well. I say this because he insisted I absolutely take a bite. Or three. The maple tap coffee was also recommended by Michael and we learned it was roasted with an oil that added to the aroma and taste. I ordered The Squawking Goat, which I also did the first time went. Few things in the world make my mouth happy the way goat cheese and pepper jelly do. The biscuit and chicken are just pluses to me, haha. As for Michael, the gentleman I mentioned earlier, I believe he’s a manager. It wasn’t incredibly busy Saturday evening, but I’ll assume that it’s because it’s winter break, they were closing in an hour, and it was more of dinner time. He took the time to describe more sandwiches to us and list all the beverages they serve which we honestly didn’t know about. He was so kind as to even help me bring food and drinks to my table and check up on us. I’ll always appreciate the little extra a person can do. Thank you for making our evening, Michael!

5 stars across the board. Brunch never let’s me down here. I sit at the menu board and just think of the endless biscuit combinations. Even when the line is out the door it never takes much time at all. My favorite part is how they yell out your favorite whatever: cartoon, movie, Christmas present, color etc… All in all… I’ve been back and I will continue to come back!

Drove from Pensacola on a New Year’s Day road trip and stopped at maple street en route to our final destination. We arrived at 2:01 not realizing that because it was New Year’s Day they were closing early. Because I am a cook, the last thing I wanted to do was be «that guy». I got back in the car and started consoling my wife who had planned the stop and was upset we had missed our window when a hostess came out and basically forced us in the door, despite our insistence that we didn’t want to impose. Thank god she did. We had the farmer, the squawking goat, and the five and dime plus an order of hash browns on the house. Everything was delicious. The biscuits were flaky and tender, the chicken was juicy and crisp and the in house pepper jelly, gravy and apple butter were perfect. I only wish I had been able to taste the cheese a little better on the farmer and the goat but the sauces stole the show. The atmosphere was also fantastic. There was ample seating and a simple spacious layout. That combined with the amazing staff and excellent tunes made for a perfect brunch stop. My only regret is that I didn’t catch the girls name that forced us through the door and took our order. Thank you. You’re a saint.

Let me count the ways I love them… Love the décor, the fun way they take orders, the fact it’s more low key than I expected, and last but certainly not least… The biscuits.

So I just finished devouring my Ralphie Deluxe with Home fries and while I was thoroughly satisfied with the meal, I can’t help but think of several other breakfast joints that I would prefer over Maple Street(Woodchuck’s, Canopy Road, Bada Bean, etc.). The meal was good, but it was also fairly bland with the same flavor over and over again. I’m sure the fried chicken concoctions are much more worth the money, I just wasn’t in the mood for fried chicken this morning(I didn’t know that was basically the whole menu). I don’t know if I’ll be back because when I get off work at 6 or 7 am I’m looking for a sure thing and I’m not sure if Maple Street is that for me personally. The biscuit itself was great, but again, a good biscuit is not hard to come by here in the south.

«What’s something that you have that you’re grateful for but don’t necessarily need?» Quick think! Because that’s how you’re going to identify your order when its ready! And it’s amusing to hear others say. Surprisingly, many people listed family members. Hilarious to hear answers like«My Sister» So anyways, for my real review. I tried Maple Biscuit in Jacksonville before it opened in Tally and I was super excited! Buttery biscuit sandwich with crispy chicken and smothered in buttermilk sausage gravy? Yes Please! Not to mention you get to wash it down with several choices of flavored coffee! I wasn’t the hungriest when I came so I just ordered the Ralphie Deluxe. Still a hearty biscuit meal and extremely satisfying. We also ordered The Five. We found the chicken a little dry this time but otherwise we were happy with our meals.

What isn’t to love about a restaurant dedicated to homemade biscuits and gravy? Not much, that’s what. I had heard about Maple Street from several people who said I must try it and I thank them for their suggestion. I decided to disregard any concern for caloric intake, cholesterol, and other such oppressive considerations and go for the Five and Dime, which is a biscuit topped with fried chicken, bacon, cheddar, gravy, and a fried egg for good measure. I have to say that I felt like Ron Swanson downing this baby, and all I needed was a glass of scotch to water it down. But since there wasn’t scotch, I settled for the coffee, which was pretty darn good. I ordered a cup with my meal, which gives you access to a coffee station with several types of American coffee(that’s what we espresso-drinking Cubans call regular drip coffee) and the opportunity to go up as many times as you wish. I for one like that system. But I was also pleasantly surprised to discover that they have espresso, which I ordered on my way out and was pretty darn good, especially for a place that isn’t necessarily a coffee shop. All-in-all, I was very pleased with Maple Street, and I look forward to visiting again soon – after I work off the 4-figure calories I devoured.

The maple coffee is their best selling coffee and I can taste why. It’s excellent. As you look through the menu, it may seem limited. It’s not. Look more carefully and allow them to create something special. The gravy has some heat to it and the bacon is delicious. I had the five and dime, it was excellent. Highly recommended

I have been dying to try this place out for a really long time and finally got a chance to make it out. The décor is an industrial folk theme with a mixture of stainless steel fixture with wood counters and an old fashion light bulb chandelier. The space is huge with lots of seating options indoor and outdoor. You wait in line to order with a huge menu on the wall to help speed up the process. Once you order they ask for your dream vacation(which I thought was a unique and cute idea) instead of your name. Then you pour your own drinks, find your own table, and wait for you dream vacation to be called. I really enjoyed my time people watching because it was fun to learn a little bit about the strangers eating in the room with me. I wasn’t that hungry so I ordered side items: Smokey Mountain Mac and Cheese and the Hashups. The mac and cheese portion was perfect for a side item but the Hashups were a generous serving that was a little dry. That’s why I give it a four star rating instead of a five. I tired my friends Sticky Maple and it was delicious! I know for sure when I come back I’ll get that instead.

Came here on a Monday for lunch and was satisfied with my visit. I ordered the Five with a side of collard greens. It’s a chicken biscuit with bacon, cheese and loaded sausage gravy. I thought one biscuit wasn’t going to be enough but I actually could barely finish. The sausage gravy was absolutely perfection with a kick. The biscuit could be a little more soft but the chicken and bacon were deff delicious. I have always loved collard greens and the side I got here hit the spot just right. A must try! The restaurant is pretty spacious and food was ready quickly. They use some funky system to call on your order which was interesting. On my visit, they asked about the first car you had and you’d be called on for 2010 Jeep Wrangler or something like that. The bad part is that there isn’t free parking because it’s super close to where the college kids live. You also have to get your own food and return your tray so it made me feel like I was eating at a school cafeteria. Ugh! I’d still come back tho because the food is pretty on point.

Eating here was truly a unique experience. I’ve never seen food like this before and I like it a lot. I had the five, which is a biscuit with chicken and bacon inside topped with sausage gravy. The sandwich was great, except the gravy was a tad too spicy for me. The description did say it had a kick in it, so my fault I guess. The idea for the restaurant is very good. Also, I think it is the first sandwich I’ve ever eaten with a knife and fork. The coffee was pretty good, but nothing incredible. The atmosphere was nice. It had community style seating, which is big tables you share with other people. It was pretty busy when we went mid-morning so I might suggest going at a time you think they wouldn’t be busy. Also, to get your food to you they ask your favorite movie instead of your name, which is a great idea I think. Overall, we very much enjoyed our experience and we will be back.

This is a great addition to the Tally breakfast scene! We got there early on a Saturday, so not too busy yet. It was our first time, and the cashier showed us the mouth watering pictures of some of the menu highlights. I ordered the Sticky Maple, the hubby ordered The Farmer. We got oatmeal for our 2 year old(one of his favorite breakfasts, but all he wanted was our bacon. grr). Instead of your name, they ask for your fave movie to call out your order, so that was kinda fun. BTW, I went with Fight Club. I really liked the sticky maple! The biscuit was flaky, bacon perfectly cooked, and crispy and well seasoned fried chicken. It was all complemented perfectly with the maple syrup. I only wished there was cheese on it. The farmer had chicken, bacon, cheese, and apple butter. The hubby was a little baffled by his apple butter… he thought it was butter with a hint of apple. He wasn’t aware that apple butter is more of an apple sauce consistency, whoops! But he scraped a little of it off and was really happy with his. What a great place for a quick & fresh breakfast!

I’d been hearing about this place for some time now. It’s a Jacksonville-spawned operation and it’s now extending beyond Duval county. …This place is fantastic. I can’t write about every single item on the menu but, I’ll sheepishly admit that I can write about FOUR of those items. I brought my «grown-up» camera kit because I figured I’d ask the manager(a very nice guy named Michael) if I could take some behind the scenes photos. As busy as they were, he graciously said OK! The line-up: 1. The squawking goat.(biscuit, fried chicken, goat cheese, pepper jelly) — the crispiness of the chicken serves a nice counterpoint to the soft innards of the biscuit and the lightly battered goat cheese dances nicely with the pepper jelly. This is a great marriage of ingredients and whoever figured this one out came up with an instant classic. 2. The five & dime.(biscuit, fried egg, chicken, bacon, cheddar, sausage gravy). I didn’t expect this one to carry the punch that it did, but I noticed a subtle cayenne sheen that compelled me to have more than I initially set out to eat! The sausage gravy was just the right consistency, and the bacon was done perfectly. not limp. not brittle. just right. 3. The hashups. I’ll go ahead and say it. This is the best hashbrown creation I’ve ever had. This is not the guide to how all other places should present and create hashbrowns. the potatoes are perfectly sized AND cooked. soft/moist interior, golden brown exteriors with the right consistency. I learned afterwards that there are two variants you can go with(The«Bob» and the«David»). This was perfect as-is. 4. The lone biscuit(I know it has a name to it, but I’ve forgotten it — it’s a biscuit with cinnamon glazing on it(I think)). Perfect accompaniment with the double espresso I had. And… — speaking of coffee, I learned from one of the people here that they roast their own coffee in Jacksonville — and roast it WITH maple syrup. I don’t know how that works — but sure enough, there’s a hint of maple on the back of the palate. The ONE beef I have with these folks is that they’re sourcing their maple syrup from Ohio. I learned this little bit of trivia from the well-done website. Everybody knows the best Maple syrup comes from Vermont trees! ;) I’m looking forward to returning here — and anticipate that a long line will always be part of the experience. When Football season kicks off, I can’t imagine how long lines will be on game days…

After months of buzz, hype and chatter, Maple Street Biscuit Company(MSBC) has arrived in Tallahassee. And unsurprisingly, these biscuits are worth flocking to. A late night meal set my stomach back on ordering one of those infamous fried chicken biscuit concoctions, so I settled on the Iron Goat. The savory biscuit is prepared with sautéed spinach and salty goat cheese. What a tasty bite! Each ingredient complimented each other swimmingly. The top-notch service provides that Southern warmth we all love. You order at the counter, where instead of being asked your name, they ask a fun, interactive question. This month’s question, «What’s your favorite band?» I must admit, there’s nothing like hearing your food being called out as «The Beatles.» Maple Street fills the void of the old, beloved coffee shop that once occupied the space. For me, this was a personal and nostalgic visit. I will be back for the mean biscuits, bottomless coffee and gracious hospitality. Make TLH proud!
