Nina Jewelers and Aanchal Boutique

This is only for their tailoring services. My friend and I needed three items done one week before a wedding. This place was able to accommodate our time frame, when most places around here were only taking orders for one month in advance. They get 3 stars just for that. Otherwise, they are pricey. Much pricier than any other tailor I have seen in the area. I needed one blouse taken out, and the sleeves adjusted on one kameez, totaled $ 50. My friend needed a sari blouse stitched and pleets put into a sari, which just for the pleats they were charging $ 60, when other tailors in the area charge $ 25-​$ 30. This was a last minute job, so I imagine they were overcharging us. They were able to deliver the items we needed on time, but I will say, their tailor is very sloppy. The sleeves on my kameez were horrendous. They fixed them while I was there, but even so, it did not seem like the job of a professional. I am not sure if it was because it was rushed job, but really, it was just hemming a sleeve.

Ok, I don’t know why this place doesn’t have any reviews yet. I’ve been here 2 – 3 times this past summer and always found something that I fell in love with. They have a fairly good selection compared to some of the other stores in the area. However, their prices are quite high (taking off one star for that).
The connecting jewelry store in the back is pretty big and they have one of the largest selections of Desi jewelry I’ve seen in this area. And normally I find most desi jewelry too gaudy for my taste, but this store had a great selection! They had the typical bulky, heavy jewelry but also very dainty & elegant sets (which is what I prefer). And lots of beautiful chains, bangles, pendants etc too. Again, ridiculous prices though.
So if you have time to drive up to NJ and check out all the desi stores there, that would be better. The variety and prices up there are great. But if you can’t go to NJ, this clothing and jewelry store has the best selection I’ve seen in MD… if you can afford it…
