We stumbled upon Mo’s by happy accident while vacationing. The atmosphere was great, laid back and come-as-you-are. The service was friendly. We even had an employee take the time to give us some tourist advice. We were very impressed by the portion size and quality of the meal. Everything was fresh and delicious. It was enjoyable to sit outside overlooking the water while we had some delicious BBQ and drinks. We left very satisfied and found ourselves driving there another day with relatives so they could experience Mo’s as well.

Come on… really? Yes they play good music and have a great beer selection. But the food — from the mac and cheese to the collard greens to the chicken to most of all the pulled pork, is a disgrace. Pure greasy mushy shit with zero discernible BBQ taste. I just tossed a mostly full plate. The black eyed peas were pretty good and of course the view is amazing. Ergo the two stars.

food is average at best, same w/service. I’d give that part a 2. but the view is amazing, 5 star. that said, you probably won’t get a table. so I’d avg down to 3

Great food and fun atmosphere. We sat on the deck overlooking the lake. The pulled pork sandwich and baked beans are a solid meal! We will definitely come back for a dinner here after a day at the lake.

Best bbq hands down, with out a doubt in Lake Tahoe! I’ve been here many times and will always refer friends to join as its great food and killer location overlooking the lake!

I was here yesterday after an afternoon on the lake. It was relatively busy, but the ordering line was moving quickly so we decided to take our chances. We ordered a double-wide meal to-go with chicken, cornbread, mac ‘n cheese, and smoked chili and sat down in front of the pick-up area to wait. THESERVICE: We waited 30+ minutes for our order to finish, which I wouldn’t have minded so much, if they hadn’t packaged up our sides almost immediately after we placed our order and left them to get cold on the counter. After the chicken was finally ready, the server added the finishing touch to our meal — he had placed our cornbread in a separate box, decided it would fit in the chicken box, and then proceeded to transfer the bread with his bare hands breaking it up into a bunch of man-handled chunks in the process. He must’ve seen the look on my face because he did ask if we wanted a new slice or two, but we politely declined, fearing any additional bare-handed handling of our meal. THEFOOD: I’d like to say the food ended up being amazing, but ironically the cornbread chunks were the best part(moist, slightly sweet, strong jalapeño flavor)! The mac n’ cheese had congealed into a giant oily blob, the smoked chili was very watery and pretty much flavorless except for some lingering spice, and the chicken was only okay. The white sauce tasted strongly of apple cider vinegar while the BBQ sauce tasted mainly like Tabasco. Maybe I’ll give it another shot on a non-holiday weekend to see if the food quality and service are better.

I was ripped off at this restaurant. Went in, sat down, no one greeted or came near us. ZERO customer service. Walked up to the counter and the woman behind the counter told us it’s counter service. We ordered at the counter, she gave us glasses, got our own drinks, silverware, etc. My bill came out to about $ 35. Paid with my debit card. Didn’t feel the need to tip as we were not waited on. When I received my bank statement, the charge was $ 43. I wrote to the manager about the discrepancy and I never received a reply. Watch out if you are a tourist!!!

This place is legit. In a city that has quite a bit of over-priced mediocrity Mo’s is a hidden gem. Their pulled pork sando hit the spot, and while I was expecting it to be either dry or loaded with sauce I was pleased to bite in and find that it was perfectly made and included a sauce with the right amount of acidity to balance everything out. Throw in the lakeside view of Tahoe and their beer selection and you have one hell of a spot. This is one chain BBQ done right.

Don’t go at the end of the day. Everything is dry and old. The kid behind the grill was packing leftover food up and a kid asked what they do with it «sell it the next day». How? it’s already dry and old. The young ones packing up for the night seemed irritated we were ordering in at 7:50. Great way to show up to Tahoe after along day of travel. Jambalaya dry corn bread dry. Won’t come back here. It’s not about the customer for sure. For 45 bucks I could have gotten better. The view is amazing. Other than that it’s whatever.

Pulled pork sandwich was really dry. The sides were OK at best and the Bloody Mary was extremely spicy. Great view!

My favorite North Tahoe place to eat. Laid back and friendly atmosphere. Good beer on tap. Outdoor seating looking out on the lake. The food is made with love. Comfort soul food. My favorite is the Mahi sandwich, lots of wonderful sides like mac n cheese and their jambalaya.

This part of Tahoe doesn’t offer the most options when it comes to restaurants but this place was definitely a hidden gem. We got the catfish platter with Mac n cheese and Cole slaw. they even had grits on the menu. Total surprise. Friendly people, dope view of the lake and fast service. Definitely worth stopping by.

As a city gal, I haven’t really put in a lot of thought or consideration for folks living in the more mountainous regions of our great state, but Moe’s certainly makes me reconsider. He was there for my first time, unassuming and friendly, but not pushy. I could melt into his rustic arms at my pace, which made me feel warm and comfortable, just like his mac n cheese. There was a hint of sweetness in his touch, like the banana cream pie that he serves on occasion. And he knew how to get the mood going with some ambient music. It was too loud for my friends, but it suited me just fine. The second time, I was facing a storm, both literally and figuratively, and there he was as my lighthouse, my beacon, through the icy flurries of snow across my windshield and in my heart. As soon as I stepped into that familiar faux-log-cabin, I knew I was home. It was the same as the first time, but made even more comforting by the blizzard outside. The third time, it was like coming home to a friend. The same charms, the same warmth, the same tangy-sweet bbq sauce and perfect jalapeño beans. He offered me something new, and I was feeling adventurous after so many visits and going through so many of the same motions. The catfish sandwich, smoky and savory, did not disappoint. That night, he showed me that he could be more than just sweet. I will remain a city girl, and I’m sure I’ll settle down with a city boy who knows my fervor for the urban jungle, but somewhere, someday, my heart will wander to the sapphire shoreline of Tahoe and to a fellow named Moe’s, waiting for me on the lake’s softly breaching waters.

This place is awesome! Great food and beautiful view of the lake. There was a concert going on upstairs when we stopped by which made our visit a lot more fun. We could still hear the music w/out having the band right in out ear hehe. Definitely recommend this place for the whole family

Staff is all really chill and friendly and this place should be a must go :) location is also amazing you can see Lake Tahoe right by your seat and the snowy mountain tops as well. The place is first come first serve with food so come early and get the food! High recommend the ribs

Mediocre BBQ, poor service! They were also out of ribs, potato salad, lemonade, iced tea, among other things… One redeeming quality is location! Great panoramic view of the lake from the outdoor tables. I still wouldn’t come back, though.

Wow. Just wow. This is an amazing place! Not only is the location right on the water, there is also live music at night to add to the ambience. I came in the winter so it was too cold to sit on the deck, but I can imagine how beautiful it is to enjoy a meal on the deck while watching sunset in the summer. Right when I walked in I was already sold on the place. Initially I wasn’t expecting much for BBQ in this area, so I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and value of the food. Prices were very reasonable, and the BBQ was well made. I ordered the ‘bama style pulled pork sandwich, and it was tender and delicious! They have daily specials on sides, and I was impressed with the variety they offer. Examples are: jambalaya, chicken gumbo, Mac and cheese, pecan pie, etc. The meals come with two sides and a fountain drink, including sweet tea and lemonade.

My boyfriend and I came here for a quick bite to eat after jet skiing. However, it was anything but quick. You order at the register and wait for your name to be called at the pick up area. It was Labor Day weekend and the place was crowded so I understand service can be slow, but we waited more than 40 minutes for our food. I had the smoked yardbird chicken sandwich and my boyfriend had the southern fried catfish sandwich. Both were good and we enjoyed our sides as well(potato salad and coleslaw for me, gumbo and mac & cheese for him). The sandwiches were kind of small for the price(~$ 12), but the sides help fill you up. Overall, 4 stars for the food and 2 stars for the slow service. Food: Good, flavorful Service: Slow Price: $ 10-$ 15 per person Ambiance: Casual, loud

Moe’s offers up casual lakeside dining with reasonable prices. Parking is very limited and a bit awkward with a relatively steep street to get down to the restaurant’s handful of parking spaces. They are counter-service for placing and picking-up your order and serve yourself drinks are available at a fountain. I had the ‘Bama style pulled pork sandwich which had a good amount of moist and flavorful pork making it the star of the show. The combo included two sides and a fountain drink. Unfortunately the sides were not up to par with the pork. The coleslaw was a marinated style(sans the mayo) and was too acidic for my liking. The mac-n-cheese was dry and was lacking in any kind of stand-out cheese flavor. Overall, the sandwich was very good, view was spectacular… sides I could have done without.

La vue depuis la terrasse est superbe et on y mange bien. Bons sandwichs, plats originaux bien qu’assez simples. Fastfood de qualité. Très bon pulled pork, le classique maison semble-t-il… Service sympa et rapide. Prix raisonnables.
