The food was really tasty! This is definitely a hidden gem. I really wanted some decent Mexican food that wasn’t fast food. This place was perfect. We were the only customers so it was quiet. The atmosphere is great. They have booths and tables that have intricate carved surfaces. They have so many options, including a vegetarian section. They served us warm tortilla chips with fresh spicy salsa. And water before taking our drink order within the first minute of sitting. I ordered the chicken tacos and they were amazing. Everything was made fresh, including the tortillas. They had a delicious red sauce drizzled on the top of them. My boyfriend got fish tacos which he really loved. The portions are large, come with rice and beans. Service was wonderful. I’ll be back for sure

Family restaurant with very good food. The chef was singing and enjoying himself while we were waiting, that’s a good sign. The food came out quickly but not too fast. The chips warm and salsa was fresh. Also received quality service. We’ll be back soon!

Excellent food and great service! Who the heck cares if the server(who actually is the owner with her husband) is quiet. The reviews almost had me going somewhere else. Glad I’m a food master, and took a chance here :) Chips and salsa were tasty!

My husband and I discovered Reyna’s when we were in college. We would order takeout, walk over to pick it up! It was so yummy, it was the perfect slurge item for two broke college kids. Anyway, we kept going there and we still go there to this day. We brought in our daughter when she was a baby and it always felt like home. My daughter loves to go there… Felix and Reyna treat people like family. I highly recomend this place. I personally love the chimichangas and the enchiladas. My hubby likes the catcus dish. My daughter loves the kids chicken enchilada with rice and beans. This place isn’t perfect, but neither is life!

I really wanted to like this place. Unfortunately when we walked in it was completely empty — just one other table on a Friday night was occupied. As soon as we sat down we wanted to leave but felt obligated when chips and water arrived before we could get out the door. I hate leaving bad reviews, especially when the owner is the one serving you. She looked very tired and stressed, while she tried to be friendly. Her young daughter was running around the restaurant with no shoes and we had the privilege of a huge meltdown in a back room with her having a screaming tantrum for about five minutes. We ordered shrimp fajitas and steak fajitas. The shrimp had 9 small shrimps on the plate, that tasted freezer burned, way too many onions and maybe 4 or five small slices of green pepper. I could only make one averaged size fajita using the shrimp. The steak plate was about the same, steak was extremely hard to chew, my son couldn’t even bite through the pieces, steak had little to no flavor, and again we were wondering how fresh the meat was. The margarita ordered tasted like a slurpee — no taste of tequila at all. Place is run down, but I could have overlooked that if the food was good. The only thing that was top notch was the salsa and flour tortillas. We will never come back. I pray the owner really takes a good look a her business because I really hope she can bring it back to be a success!

Chips and salsa were fresh and yummy! Food was ok, not bad but I don’t see myself craving for it. There was a little boy who kept running around and giving us random papers and ads and he actually tossed his water bottle at me as we were leaving. I’m sure for a boy his age being cooped up in a restaurant all day he gets quite bored and restless — it was just the 2 of us eating so it was somewhat tolerable, I could see if there were more customers it would have gotten to be more irritating Not sure if I’ll go back

The atmosphere is what keeps me coming back. The foods not the best, but it’s decent. I just love how no matter what time you come in you’re treated like family. Which is amazing! I’ve been coming here since I started going to PLU and it’s just a good experience every time.

Very friendly and fast service. Nopales make for a great variation from standard Mexican fare. Portions generous, for those who are into overeating. Next time we’ll bring the whole volleyball team!

So I read the Unilocal reviews and anticipated a few things 1) not overwhelmingly great food 2) place was a little dirty and yes both of the reviews were true. The owners wife was quiet(I think the one review was unkind to attack her personality) she seemed very quiet and maybe shy. She never checked on us(party of 6) to see if we needed refills on drinks or how we were doing. OH and if you go here, order the Mexican soda’s in a bottle. I was concerned about the ice machine and whether or not it was cleaned. They have coke, orange crush, diet and another flavor. The owner(husband/dad) sings in the kitchen which was fun to listen too. The son is extremely quiet(like mom) The food is reasonable priced and just regular type Mexican food from any Mexican restaurant. I wish them the best, but the place needs a good cleaning, a little updating and maybe some paint. The bar had about 8 – 9 people in it on a Saturday night.

It was ok. The place could have been a bit cleaner, but it wasn’t too bad. Service was a bit slow but not too bad. The food was decent but nothing to get overly excited about. I have a couple other Mexican places I prefer over this place, but it’s close to home and it’ll do in a pinch.

I’ve never had a bad meal here. It’s a family run restaurant, the service has always been great, sometimes the oldest daughter is our waitress. My husband, his parents, and I have been going here for years, and we go back every time they visit. I think in some ways it is Americanized Mexican food, because we probably can’t handle the heat. I love Felix and his singing. He and his family are always so welcoming when we go in. I can’t wait to go back.

Yikes… expectations were high but disappointed in the food. Strolling guitar musician was great(this might be a 1 Star if not for him) and the place felt like a family owned place who’s food should be great. My Taco El Corbon(house specialty) was3 flour tacos with small cubes of flavorless meat(nothing else inside the taco). They looked pan fried and the plate was so bloody hot I had to pick at them with a knife and fork. Rice and beans ok. My companion had the Steak Fajita Salad… sounded delish on the menu… looked like a plate of Alpo with a dollop of guacamole when it arrived. Will not be back.

I had the extreme displeasure of eating here today while visiting the Garfield Street Fair, not only was the service despicable, the treatment we received was unacceptable by any standard. We arrived early evening and were seated. Ten minutes later we had not been greeted and when our waitress finally came to the table she said she would take our drink orders, but anything else would have to wait because she had to get food to another table. One of the adults in my group asked for menus and she said that she would get them to us soon. She took our drink orders and then she disappeared for twenty minutes. When she reappeared she began the order, but stopped in the middle to ask if we needed separate checks. We said that we did so she began the order again from the other side of the table. While I was I was ordering, I asked for a side of jalapenos and she said sure, but to remind her if she did not bring them. About ten minutes later our drinks arrived. Then the wait began; we waited, and waited, and waited some more. Finally after 45 minutes out came two orders of nachos. They were both made incorrectly. We asked for Chorizo in one of the dishes and because they were out, they decided to substitute without asking. The waitress took them back to the kitchen and we waited for 30 more minutes before two of the children at our table were finally served. One ate his quesadilla, but could not eat the rice and beans because we had no silverware. We asked, and fifteen minutes later over come the silverware. The waitress reappeared and we told her to forget the rest of the order and only bring the other child’s food. She did on a burning hot plate without telling any of us that it was hot. The four year old, burned her wriste reaching for her food. At this point, we told her that we didn’t want the mistakes re-fired, to please bring the rest of the children’s food only. While we waiting, the owner Felix came out of the kitchen and said, «What is the problem now? You’ve sent your food back three times!» We told him that we had only sent the food back once and to please only bring the food for the third child. About ten minutes later the waitress reappeared to tell us that the food had been re-fired anyway. We again reiterated that we did not want it, but she set about placing the food on the table despite our insistence that we did not want it. She refused to remove it and told us that it had already been made, she would not remove it and that we should talk to the owner. Finally, we had enough and rose to leave. We headed over to pay the bill for what we had managed to eat(one quesadilla and three sodas) when the owner stormed out of the kitchen yelling and demanding that we pay for the nachos that he had re-fired against our wishes. I told him that I was not paying for food that I had not eaten and he put his finger in my face and told me to get out and not to return in full view of the dining room. I left humiliated and hungry and still had to go down the road to Farelli’s to eat. I’d complain, but to whom? The service was terrible, and then insult added to injury by the owner. No thank you! Don’t waste time or money in this trashy, no-class establishment; Taco Bell would be much better and cleaner.

Let’s be clear from The start this one star is only so I came write this review. My boyfriend and I just went here tonight. We are very curious what the 4 other couples who got identical shitty service and food thought because the 7 people on here who gave this place 4 stars and tricked us into eating clearly have no expectations. We are left with ¾ a plate of food I wouldn’t even give our dog. We are kinda weird going out to eat together and expecting to get our food with in 20 Mins of each other. When asking for more drinks and chips to hold us over till our meals finally came or asking for our meals her response was oh sure! After saying did you call me?

1st time visitor, Walked passed it heading to another place that is no longer in the area. But we will go back again & again. Starters. The salsa & chips. Fresh, yummy, flavorful, and just right on spice and heat! The service was good,(little slow on the food) But it was Well worth waiting. as its OBVIOUSLYFRESH… two bowls of both chips and salsa later… Lunch. I had #19, Beef Enchilada & Taco. rice & beans. paid extra for Sour cream & Guacamole’. But that leads me to the Quacamole’. also very fresh, lots of flavor and HOMEMADE. Sign over the door said Grand opening, and more seating. so maybe they’ve been there a while. But I say, add this to your list of Local favs. Its now on ours. Two tails up. take out menu, clean, prices are excellent and same as most other places, considering the upgrade from the local chains and Ho-Hum same old stuff. Lastly, food was served on plates so hot that the food steamed untill we were done.. Two people $ 23.00 w/o drinks just waterw/lemon And the TIP. Awesome

My wife and I eat there every 2 months or so and for the most part, we’ve been pleased. Stick with the basics and you’ll feel the same way. Thought I’d be brave once and tried the Crab enchiladas. Talk about the old bait and switch. They were filled with that fake Krab and a fist-ful of chopped onion. Otherwise, all their sauces are authentic. Great beans and rice, and the prices are reasonable. If your looking for a break from the countless monotonous, Mexi-can’t spots on the 7 mile stretch of Pac Ave between Tacoma and Spanaway, this place is hard to beat. On our last visit though, the chips were stale and tasted like they were fried in week old grease. Felix(the owner) is friendly enough but his wife has absolutely no personality.

I love the cozy bar and friendly staff. The food is above average and the prices are pretty decent. I walked in once as they were about to close and they insisted that I stay and enjoy some food and drinks. Knowing how much of a drag that can be from my own experiences as a server, I thought it was pretty nice of them to invite me in at the very end of the night. Give Garfield Street some love and stop in for a bite!

Is the salsa different on every visit? Yes. The most important detail to get out of the way, and one of the clues that you’re eating relatively authentic Mexican food. This nice little spot, run by a friendly family, includes some less-than-standard fare(nopales) on the menu, alongside the mandatory-for-American-palate offerings like quesadillas. Which you have to have, in this area of the world… The list of restaurant offerings in Parkland may be a short one, but Reyna’s is the one I return to the most often, and not just because it’s close. Fresh, well-spiced food, not too much cheese, lots of vegetables, and great beans. Plus good fried ice cream and margaritas! And what are nopales, you ask? Come try and find out…
