Precision Tune Auto Care

We arrived at the front door five minutes before eight. The front desk person arrived, unlocked the door, went inside without a word, closed the door and locked it. We were left standing in the cold looking through the locked door at the warm, empty lobby. The boss casually unlocked the door a little after eight so the four people waiting could get out of the weather. The front desk person was rude and indifferent towards us. She serves the business model, not the customer. Smiles at the boss, and maintains a cold front to us.
I asked if we were scheduled immediately as I was told we would be. She said she knew nothing about it. The boss said he was told I would be dropping the car off. Not the same thing. I said we were told we would be getting a ride home while the car was being looked at. He said one of the guys would go with us as we drove our car home, and he would bring it back. In short, we gave ourselves a ride home in our own car.
Now, on the way to our house the coolant light came on and stayed on., the original problem. The one that was «fixed» for the leak that doesn’t exist. The guy had to let the engine cool down before adding two liters of water to the tank. He took another two liters with him just in case. Of interest was his theory that the engine was running hot and burning the coolant off. I said it’s burning the water? He said yes.
So far I’ve been told I have no leak, but I need a new cap and thermostat for three hundred and change. Then, when the original problem continued, I was told it was an air bubble. Then, when the original problem continued, I was told I could leave it for a few days, or take it to another shop. Also, there are no refunds. The attitude is not has the problem been fixed, but did they sell you something that got delivered. Neither the boss nor the front desk person know who the customer is. They serve the business model, and the people who bring their cars in for service also serve the business model. The true customer can suck it up or go elsewhere.
I was told by the boss’s boss what would happen. It didn’t. the boss was upset he was told what to do. The desk person was just as defensive. Instead of being scheduled at eight, he said he was told I would drop the car off. Not the same. Instead of getting a ride home, we drove ourselves home with a return driver, not the same. The fact that the car overheated on the way demonstrated the car needs to be fixed as originally claimed. And the decision to use the customer’s malfunctioning vehicle for transport shows a complete lack of appreciation for the problem or the customer.
I got a whole lot of we don’t do that when I repeated what the boss’s boss told me. The whole admin staff from the top down will defend their indifference with rudeness, and vice versa. If that’s the business model, I’ll be helping my friends avoid precision tune.

It is noon now. No word from anybody.
I called the local shop and was told they would be keeping it for a while to let it cool down.
The problem with that story is they drove the car long enough for it to overheat this morning,
and they have had it for four hours already.
So I called the boss’s boss and told him of our experience this morning with the cold reception,
And using the busted car for transport. He says he’s directing the actions. I said it is critical
I have the car back today.
I feel he is trying his best, but I feel a certain level of push back from the local manager.
My guess is I will end up in worse condition than when I took it in the first time.
I am hoping not, but the experience so far is not good.
About three I got a call from calvin, and it’s worse. They think it’s a leaking head gasket.
Which will cost five times what I’ve paid already. The problem I have with that is if water is leaking into the cylinder
The car shouldn’t run, and it does. Plus it should still show up in the pressure test, and it doesn’t.
Cars are mysterious, but not that mysterious.
And finally, we were picked up later and we drove the driver back to the shop. They wanted me to sign the generic paperwork.
Not happening. Nothing was fixed and the analysis has holes in it. The boss wasn’t available. I was briefed by calvin over the phone after he talked to the shop people I already told him I wouldn’t trust to fix a cup of coffee. And, as I predicted, the estimate was five times the amount already spent. If that much water is leaking through a cylinder, the car won’t run, period. Gasoline with ethanol produces water, so pointing at the exhaust drip is bogus. My opinion is they told calvin whatever he wanted to hear and went to lunch. They won’t refund the three hundred, but they will give me shop credit off the more expensive work they want to do. It’s called up-​selling.
Bottom line.

I find them to be really respectful and good at what they do. As a woman I feel like so many places just brush me off and treat me poorly which gets really annoying. I just needed an oil change done which was done quick. Brought my boyfriends car back for an oil change as well.

Everytime I go in for my personal car or work trucks I’ve always had fast and friendly services. :-)

Got a Groupon and thought I’d give this place a try. SO HAPPY I DID. The guy at the counter Dewon was outstanding. I have many mechanics in my family and know how some places love to rip people off, especially women but not this place. Everything was upfront and they didn’t come back with «Oh, you need this or that». I got amazing service for an amazing price. LADIES!!! This place is safe in my book.

New Male manager does not even know how to do any work on a car! He sits around while the others try to get it all done. All he knows how to do is say sorry… I was also promised a discount after calling corporation, of course the Himbo could not find it in the system.

roy is a nice guy. he got me in for an inspection even on a busy saturday. the price is right as well. the wait was a tad bit longer than expected, but the quailty of work is well worth the wait.

There is absolutely no reason to go to the nextdoor Jiffy Lube when this place exists. Wonderfully nice people, super fast, and supercheap oil changes? You can’t go wrong.
