I was up in this area to meet a friend and we decided that this would be the best place to meet up. I went inside to grab myself something to drink and was shocked by how down earth and homey this place was. There used to be places like this all over when I was growing up and they slowly closed off one by one. It’s nice being somewhere where when people walk by each other they say hello, and not only because they’re being friendly it’s because they know each other. This place is like how all the old places used to be. It’s too bad that it will probably fall to the same fate that all other stores like it have in the past.

Problems:
1. I’m the only at the deli counter and I get the infamous «I will be with you in a second» excuse. Three minutes later I get served.
2. I was on my motorcycle and I get ridiculed about wearing motorcycle gear at loud by the cashier.
Solutions:
1. Prompt service. It’s kept businesses like Les Schwab Tires in profit for years. When you ignore customers and they will ignore you.
2. Customers are customers, no matter who they or they way they dress. If you put down a customer they will not return and a lot of them write Unilocal reviews.
Lighthouse IGA has seen that last of my worthless dollars.

Very clean store, and nicely put together! The prices here are very good and employees very friendly– nice place to get groceries in the Browns Point area of Tacoma!
