Use caution with these guys, don’t pay until the job is 100% complete.
i contacted these guys in summer 2013 to cut tree’s at one of my clients properties. we worked out a deal, allowed them to leave the wood chips so we could use them for a natural landscape. they were required to haul the wood after cutting down 4 large trees.
it was a one day job that turned into a 2 day job. I paid half up front and came to meet him when he said he was finished to pay the rest. he still had one stump about 4 feet high left, and hadn’t hauled off the wood yet. i couldn’t wait around and he estimated the work would be completed in another hour so i gave him the final check and left. he packed up his truck, didn’t finish the job and left.
i contacted him that day and he made excuses and told me he would be back the following day to finish. when he didn’t come back, i had to find someone to haul off the estimated 15 yards of wood. i then contacted him every week for over 2 months asking him to come cut down the last stump the next time he is in the area. unfortunately, he made excuse after excuse and wouldn’t come through.
eventually he stopped responding, i contacted his wife/​office manager and told her i would leave negative reviews if they didn’t come take care of the last of the job. she promised they would, and they didn’t. i hate leaving bad reviews for small businesses, being a small business owner myself, but i believe in providing a high level of customer service, which these people fell short on by not completing the work.
the unfortunate thing about it is if they finished their job, i would have given them more work and referred others to them. We’ve spent over $ 8,000 on tree removal in the past 12 months at 4 different properties.
they did a good job, they didn’t damage any property, just didn’t FINISH THE JOB! i’ll probably change the rating from 2 stars to 3 stars if they come back and cut the stumps down as they promised.
