Holy cow is this an amazing brewery! Definitely worth the trip and the toll over the bridge to try what they have.

We were headed for another tap room and saw this one over on the side of the road and had to stop in. Sure glad we did ! It’s only been open for about six months. Jordan the guy behind the bar was very knowledgeable and was more than willing to get us two or three different samples for us to make our decision on filling our growler. We decided on the Red Rooster to bring as a gift for father instead of a bottle wine for dinner. This was a great place, great vibe $ 4 dollar Sunday, $ 10 Dollar Wednesday growlers. They have shuffleboard saw three guys playing jenga… woo hoo love old-school. Definitely going back to try the giggling blonde. Yes that’s the name of their beer

Seize the pint! That’s the motto at Gig Harbor Brewing Co.(Located in Tacoma actually off South Tacoma Way) and boy do they make it easy to do just that. With 5 beers on tap ranging from a light blonde to an imperial stout there is sure to be a flavor that’ll excite even the most seasoned beer-drinkers palette. In addition to the 5 beers on tap, there was also a 6thGHB beer on tap, a nitro stout, that was available for a limited time on my last visit. Neat promotions such as this(a nitro red ale & barrel aged stout have also been brewed & featured on sight) show a respectable passion for the brewing which is fun to witness. The spacious tap room is complimented excellently by a friendly & engaging staff, TVs, free peanuts along with snacks & soda available for purchase, free swag(car decals & stickers) along with growlers, hats & shirts for purchase & my favorite thing, a shuffleboard table. If outside seating can be achieved by summer there won’t be anything stopping this place from becoming my favorite new spot to enjoy a cold one!

Great place, love the atmosphere here. I love the rustic look and being able to see the tanks where the beer ferments. The owner is very friend and likes to know is customers, I appreciate that a lot.

First and foremost, Gig Harbor Brewing is not actually located in Gig Harbor. In fact, it’s located in the spot that feels least like Gig Harbor within the shortest possible drive from the city limits. It’s in the Nalley Valley, so named because everything down here is either a manufacturing or processing plant, the biggest being Nalley Foods. There are quite a few other light industrial structures, and there’s no shortage of overpasses and onramps. But mostly it’s an industrial area. I’ve teased them on Facebook about keeping their name after finding real estate only outside the city limits of their namesake. They’re pretty nonchalant about it. They’re GH folk, and they’re only a few miles down Highway 16 from GH, so why not? Let ‘em have the name. At least they didn’t call the place«Manhattan Brewing» or «Paris Brewing» or something. They’ve taken over a big shoebox-shaped building with high ceilings and plenty of space for both a brewhouse and a taproom. They have plenty of seating, clean comfortable restrooms, and a shuffleboard table. In fact, the first thing you smell when you walk in is the fresh sawdust in service on the shuffleboard table. The beer list is fairly short, focused mainly on anglo ales – IPAs, APAs, stouts, porters, etc. Good stuff. They’re brewing clean and interesting beers with a clear identity. They’re pretty new, but I’d have to put them pretty high on the list of South Sound breweries already. I know the brewmaster has been brewing professionally for a decade and a half, and the experience shows in the glass. Prices are good here, and there’s some nice basic swag to go(growlers and such). I really enjoyed stopping here, and would definitely return.

I absolutely loved this place. 5 different beers on tap. Plus a guest cider and a guest beer. The location is great, the atmosphere is amazing and the biggest plus… its relatively close to us. Oh and how foolish of me to forget that the beer was amazing! All of the beers were solid across the board. My wife and I have been hitting up all of the local breweries recently and this one is the first to rival our favorite Odd Otter.

Don’t let the name fool you. Gig Harbor Brewing is NOT located in Gig Harbor but in Tacoma. This confused me on two occasions but eventually we got it figured out. This is a new brewery in Tacoma, one of several new ones that opened up in town the last few months. The brewery is at the end of a building where several tenants are off of South Tacoma Way. If the brewery is not too busy parking isn’t too bad but the parking lot doesn’t hold many cars so street parking is the next option. The beer here is very good! Here we got three different kinds of their beer, all quite tasty! I got a Red Ale which was nice and smooth, a nice, warming stout and probably my favorite was the blonde! The staff was informative, friendly and all around awesome! This brewery is one of the closer ones we live by. We can’t walk to it… that would be a bit far unlike some other brewery options we have but it is VERY convenient in it’s distance for frequent return trips!

Well folks I call it the misnomer of the decade, but I also call it good. Following in the footsteps of the other great local brew spots, GHB came through after the long awaited opening. A nice modern interior with expected extras like cups of nuts and a water cooler, GHB embodies the vibes we’ve all come to know. Tonight they showcased 5 beers, all ales ranging from light Blond to dark strong Stout, and it delivered. Plus, they have a cool shuffleboard to play, which come to find, I am terrible at. The owners are a local bunch, familiar with the people and the style known as Northwest craft brewing. I am happy to report that the brews are excellent in character and flavor. The double IPA is rich, medium dark colored and contains loads of what we all really like… The hops. The Blond, would really appeal to the non-micro enthusiasts, the B**wei**r drinkers who renounce all things local and even organic. My opinion is that even in the peculiar spot they are, the potential is there. Keep going, keep brewing and keep on keeping on. Cheers

Cozy and comfortable with great atmosphere. Friendly and engaging staff. The Racing Rooster Red was my favorite as it had a nice flavor without overpowering hops. That’s not to say the others weren’t deserving as well. Will certainly be back.

Very disappointing. Waited forever for this place(near where I work) to open. Only 3 beers on tap. The bartender had no personality or sense of humor. The guy walking around who was apparently the owner/manager, only stopped and talked to people he obviously knew. Couldn’t have cared less about meeting anyone who could be future regular attenders.

I liked this new brewery in Tacoma. We stopped here on their opening weekend. The beers were good. I had the red which had an excellent flavor and wasn’t too hoppy. They also have a stout and IPA on tap. I liked the tap room and I will definitely be back again!

Yay! The Gig Harbor Brewing tap room is finally open!(in Tacoma…) As odd as it seems to have a brewery named for Gig Harbor located on South Tacoma Way in the Nalley Valley, rather than on the other side of the bridge, the owner had good reasons for constructing the business where he did. And really, it’s all about the beer anyway, right? As of opening day, the tap room has three brews available on tap: Round Rock IPA, Racing Rooster Red Ale, and Gig Harbor Imperial Stout. Each is available for $ 5/pint, or you can try a sampler of all three for $ 5. 64 oz growler fills are available for $ 13. All three beers were delicious; looking forward to returning for more and seeing what else they have to offer in the future! The tap room’s hours are currently 1pm-8pm.
