Burger was delicious just a bit greasy(who doesnt love a greasy burger) … Fry sauce is not good… Didn’t really taste like fry sauce and definitely has mustard in it. Very good just a little over priced…

I have been wanting to stop in here and give it a try for some while now. I finally got the chance to do that today. It’s a small no frills, no gimmicks type of place. I find that refreshing. The doublecheese burger(swiss), steak fries &2 jarritos, came out to $ 14.25. A lil bit much, but I am willing to give it a chance. I ordered mine without tomatoes, since I am allergic & wanted to follow the instructions on the board next to the register. Sadly my food came with tomato. Somehow it was overlooked, not sure as to why, since I am the only non employee in here. Once my food was delivered I was told where to find the ketchup, salt, mustard & in house made fry sauce. No offer to bring it, or to ask if I wanted some, just told where I could find it. That was a missed opportunity to interact with the customer and help build return business. I have been known to overlook mediocre food if the service is good, however this one is not one of those times. Good food bad service. Glad that getting back to your laptops were more important than the customer service.

You know I don’t come to Tacoma often(only when there are shows at the T dome) but so glad we ran across this gem! Checking into the nearby Best Western and looking for some food, this place was unsuspectingly good. As you walk in, it’s nothing special… kind of a hole in the wall and small. They had plenty to choose from… even gluten free. even bison?! YUP! Ordered your normal cheeseburger and fries. Their fry sauce was good I must say. All in all it was pretty tasty and I would certainly come here again.

This burger was definitely worth the drive. The best part was seeing this hole in the wall being a family restaurant. The KIRO5 news awarded this restaurant the best gluten free burger. I’m still trying to figure out what’s in the fry sauce which is a must try!

Average little greasy burger place. Reminds me of where you’d go for shakes after a baseball game as a kid or something. Onion rings were tasty. Don’t expect tap water, apparently the water comes out kind of funky the lady said do I just got a canned soda to be safe.

By far my favorite hole in the wall burger places! Can say it taste very similar to in-n-out burger but more like a home cooked burger.

First time and was not disappointed. Burgers and service best near the Tacoma Dome. I intend to be a regular here.

FOOD was delish! Family of 3(2 adults/1 kid) and all ate for around 30 bucks. Hamburger was greasy and just the way we like it! Wait for the food was a little long. But really well worth it. Our son constantly asks if we can go there for dinner. Best hamburgers I have eaten in a long time.

I found that the double decker was so much meat it overwhelmed the other flavors of the burger, which are too good to miss out on. Order two singles instead– it’s worth it. I have dreamed about the fry sauce(which is GF) all week. It prefectly compliments the pickles on the burger(and I’m not usually one for pickles). They should sell the sauce in bottles to take home. I would buy 10 to start off with. This place bends over backwards to take care of its gluten free crowd. They *know* their stuff. They need to hire more help. The guy cooking everything has a super bum knee or something; he came limping out at the end of the day. They closed an hour early when there was a concert at the dome, and I hate to see them lose out on all that business.

Just your regular mom and pop joint. They’re not much on talking to customers. But it’s probably because our mouths are full of their delicious burgers. The prices are a little higher than most small burger places, but it’s worth it when it’s comes to fresh foods. Stop by if you have the time and empty stomach. The orders take a while and their portions and plenty.

Well, I got the Bison burger. It was not bad at all, also not outstanding. I would eat it again. They did have a very large gluten free menu. Hubs got the cheesy onion burger(gluten free!) and says it was really good. The steak fries were just ok, they seriously needed to be seasoned but I understand letting people make the choice to add their own salt. Pricing was about average, $ 20 for both of us. We got take out so I can’t comment on the cleanliness of the eat in seating.

As some other reviewers have mentioned: this place is a little overrated. Many reviewers mentioned how friendly the owners/employees are. Meh. They weren’t friendly toward us at all. They offered extras to other customers when they brought their food, but not to us. We listened to them go out of their way to be accommodating to other customers. Not sure what we did to deserve the short service. The place is a little unclean feeling. The kitchen looked fine, but the dining area was a little depressing and run down. This place just seemed sleepy. When the owners were done fixing our food, they came out to watch tv in the dining area. Kinda weird. One owner was asleep sitting up. Not super fun to observe while you’re eating. Our food: greasy. Very greasy burgers. The fries were okay. Nothing amazing. We were not offered the fry sauce or bacon salt. So, the fries were boring. We won’t go out of our way to come back.

This place is very overrated. Are the owners very nice people? Yes. No doubt about it. Is the food good? Good, yes. Great, no. My biggest gripe is how filthy the place is. The place looks like it hasn’t been cleaned since it first opened. The last time I was in here was for a to-go order. I felt I needed to take a hot shower afterwards… it is that dirty! Does the city of Tacoma ever do health inspections? My second biggest gripe is the price. The signature«Friesenburger» costs $ 8.95 for just the burger. If you want fries and a coke that will run you another $ 3.79! With tax, expect to pay over $ 14 for a burger, fries and drink. For that price and a short walk down Pacific Ave., I can fine dine at El Gaucho down the street and get better quality food(In a clean establishment) during their Happy Hour prices. Tacomans shouldn’t blindly support a local business just because it is a local business.

So disappointed Came here because it has 4 stars. But came here for chili and now they discontinued it !! So no more chili burgers or chili dogs here guys. So if you’re pregnant like me and just craving chili burgers, forget about it ! Just turned into one grumpy mommy to be.

Ohh yes… A friend of mine noticed that people are always walking out of this place happy, so we went in for lunch last week, and good gracious! I had the double jalapeño burger, and an order of deep fried mushrooms. I also took an onion burger and onion rings to go, and I was just oh-so-satisfied. The lady behind the register was super down to earth. It’s a nice little mom and pop shop… You seat yourself and get yourself your own drinks. They do take out, but sadly no delivery. A lot of people came in and out to take things to go, and I highly recommend this to anyone who just wants a nice, quick meal. Just the right amount of grease, and everything you’d expect from a burger joint.

No frills here, just classic drive-in style burgers. Sure they are a little greasy, tad soggy and certainly not grass fed, but they are deliciously nostalgic, come out piping hot and you will definitely not go home hungry!

Love it! The best part is the fry sauce — if they offer, say yes and ask for extras, it’s delicious enough to drink. The burgers are diner classic — just enough grease, good amount of toppings and tasty fries that are good, but don’t steal the show(they’re merely vessels to scoop fry sauce into your mouth anyhow). Also, the owner is awesome — friendly and seems to genuinely love making great food and delighting customers.

Always looking for a good burger, specially if they have the not your everyday burgers made from beef, went here and saw they had Bison Burgers, so had to try one– it was cooked perfectly and the fries were not greasy. Since they have Coke products, and I refuse to drink Coke, I went with a Strawberry Shake and that was very good! The workers here are very friendly and seemed to be knowledgeable on the menu items-So needless to say, was very pleased to have given this place a try, and I will return!
