Encore Nightclub

I believe this place is called «Emblem» now. This club has a good vibe going on with the lights and DJ (new generation music), it seems like they mostly play trap. They have multiple BIG AND BUFF bouncers EVERYWHERE and 3 – 5 cop cars posted on the block right Infront. They check ID at the door. The bartenders are extremely nice, especially the ones downstairs, although that doesn’t make up for how expensive their drinks are. The venue is so hot that it feels like I’m in a sauna. They have all the windows and doors shut, with very few fans. I had to go outside every 10 minutes due to how hot it was inside. It gets very crowded towards the end of the night, although nobody really dances. There’s a big girl to boy ratio which made me feel uncomfortable since a lot of the men were just standing there and watching.

This club is pretty great, but when you would like a glass of water and they say no, we don’t give out water, you have to buy a tiny bottle for $ 2, it becomes a one star establishment. Especially after our group bought several drinks. I was shocked that they don’t allow people free WATER!!! Good freakin grief, such a cheap and disrespectful way to do business! They ought to have self serve ice water coolers like JAKES in Olympia.

Went to Encore for a bachelorette party. Got the VIP section/​bottle service and it was absolutely worth it. The servers were by the table every 15 minutes pouring drinks, bringing bottles of water, and clearing empty glasses. The DJ was wonderful — kept the pace hopping and compelled us to return to the dance floor over and over and punish our feet in our heels!
The manager took fantastic care of us and checked in on us frequently. Late in the evening when a party goer from another group who had a bit too much to drink wandered into our area and sat a bit to close to our purses, a security guard was quick to intercede with a bottle of water and steered the wayward guest away.
My only criticisms: it was insanely hot, much in part to it being a very warm summer evening but compound that with dancing sweaty bodies and it was uncomfortable. Secondly — the ‘dress code’ was very loosely adhered to by quite a few guests, which was a little disappointing.
All in all tons of fun — we’ll definitely be back!

Astoundingly overpriced and ridiculously exclusive not just for Tacoma, but the PNW in general. Polite staff and helpful, but not in the slightest bit worth it.

I have enjoyed ENCORE many a times as an oasis among mediocrity in the Tacoma area. But this evening I was asked to leave due to my dismay with the fact that the management allowed an individual dressed as «Osama bin ladenen» to continual invade our personal space. Said individual continued to address my group with «do you have a problem with my costume?» We asked him severely times, politely, for him not to come in my/​my friends vicinity. Unfortunately this individual continued to desire a confrontation with my party and the staff repeatedly let this individual invade our personal space to the point of a physical confrontation. I see this as a major flaw in the managements ability to foster a positive environment for the body at large to enjoy the evening in a safe environment.

I’ve gone here before and the only thing lacking was the variety of drinks the bartenders could make from what they had. Last night it was the worst dj I have EVER heard. It sounded like the music that gets played at a trailer party, with excessive dub step added in making it almost impossible to dance.
Next time I want to dance I’m going to Seattle. That was a waste of money.

I recently had my bachelorette party here. We had a pretty good time given the music was not good 100% of the time. I felt like the DJ had a hard time feeling the crowd. They also had a «guest appearance» that was singing R&B…eh. Looking around, not many were impressed, including myself.
The VIP service was fairly good and our personal server/​waitress was nice enough.
The club claims to be boutique-​y and as far as looks go, it is a nice club. I think the dress code that evening was a bit lax, though. Overall, this is an okay club but I think I just had higher expectations from reading the previous reviews. Three stars.

I highly recommend the V.I.P service for ladies night/​groups. Depending on the area you can just split the cost for the table and not post the cover charge.
I went with the girls for our first ladies night!
Rick was our «host» and walked us to our table.
We had a personal waitress & complimentary bottle of champagne. + it may not seem like it but security keeps an eye on you. If guys get too hands on they will politely ask that person to leave you alone.
It didn’t get rocking until about 11/​midnight.
The Dj’s were good, a few slow songs but we didn’t mind.
I recommend getting a table on the dance floor so you don’t have to walk up & down the stairs when you want to sip your drink.

Love how classy this place is! I never have to worry about fights breaking out or worrying about my life. Love the location, the dj plays very versatile music. Ladies night is awesome.

Nice set up, good security, and bartenders, but but empty. The owner is a jack ass. Don’t forget you credit card, they wont’ let you get it back.

I came in on may 24 for the first time for latin night and was impress with venu but what really made me love this place was the asian girl bartender who made me the best watermelon drink i have ever had i sware it was so good ;) thank you guys for your hard work

I’ve done a table and bottle service twice here. They are awesome to work with, the girls are sweet and really helpful and I always have a great time! Totally worth it if you want a fun night out in Tacoma!

Strictly giving ENCORE a five star because of the friendliness of the staff.
I don’t know what it is with Seattle clubs, but I guess I’m used to being treated like BS when going to Seattle clubs, so going to ENCORE was definitely refreshing. The VIP manager, I believe it’s Rick (?) got us a booth on my birthday the night of, which was pretty awesome. Even the bar service at our booth was super cute and super nice. I mean, complete 180 compared to what I’m used to.
Not only that, but it was refreshing not having to run into the same crowd and not having the bouncers make us wait for 15 minutes outside when the club is virtually empty. Instead, we got to the doors, Friday night around 11pm. No line, and the bouncers let us in super quick. We had full service going on at our booth and the place filled in around 11:30? It wasn’t as busy on a Friday night, but I could really careless. The music was ok, the DJ seemed to spin a block of R&B and hip hop for a couple songs, then switched to a block of EDM, then back to R&B and hip hop and so on and so on.
The only downside to this place was the fact that they were being super slack on dresscode. They say it’s an ultra lounge, but they’ll probably let you in with a nice top and jeans. *shrugs* oh well. I’ll go in looking good regardless. HAAAAY GUUURRRRRLL HAAAAAAY!!!

I went out dancing with my girlfriend last Friday and had an absolute blast! I can honestly say that this a great place to dance the night away w/​your best friend or your sweetheart and either way feel completely comfortable!
We ordered bottle service to get the last table even tho we arrived somewhat late (11:30), we still managed to score the last table and from the door we were treated like royalty! Every bodyguard made sure we were well taken care of especially Mr. Sood! He checked up on us continually to be sure we were having a wonderful experience but our server/​waitress was positively amazing! J.J. is definitely the one you want serving you! She was such a sweetheart and so relate-able…she made us feel like we were super important as if we were her only V.I.P’s for the night!
I will surely be making a trip back soon w/​my hunny! Can’t wait since I absolutely loved this place!

We came here with a group of five on a Friday night. We came around 10:30 pm and it was empty but it filled up pretty quick. We bought a table and it was cheaper then what I expected. Service was great. We had a really good time. I’m glad there is actually a nice club in Tacoma. Definitely will come back.

I held off on writing my review because I wanted to see how this club compares to others in the area. I can tell you now that this is THE BEST club from Seattle all the way down to Olympia. All of the staff are super friendly and you can tell that unlike some other clubs, they are trained to treat their customers very well. The bartenders are very knowledgeable, the bouncers are friendly and respectful and the servers are always quick with a smile. Every time we’ve gone we have had a blast! We especially love the photo booth that is set up in the front! Super original and fun idea!
I read a review that said that it compares to clubs in Seattle. I completely disagree. After going out in Seattle we decided that we will only go to Encore from now on. The vibe is so much better and we don’t feel like we are going to get attacked when we go outside.
So, in a nutshell, if you’re looking for a really great time with great mixologists, a pretty decent DJ line up and people that actually seem like they enjoy their job don’t bother driving all the way to Seattle. This is where it’s at!

Great addition to downtown Tacoma, but falls short of a couple stars really. It is a little bit on the new side, but when your trying to present an elegant and classy nightclub it needs to have all the works done out. First, no coat check. Second, dress code isn’t being enforced which isn’t fair to others who have to dress up to get into the club. The staff seems to be on the friendly side which amazes me because most nightclubs don’t know how to play nice most of the time.
The crowd is mixed and of course it’s a nightclub so the drinks are on the expensive side and the girls already have a «brick wall» barrier to the guys who want to hook up so I suggest you practice your approach before coming to ‘stuck up’ land. The VIP looks to be a good theme for people who pay for it since it really is exclusive as Seattle and other metropolitan nightclubs have someone to actually make sure no one comes into the area.
Maybe I should give it another star but I feel that it is a bit on the small side and needs to live up a bit more to a great nightclub like those in Seattle and such.

First, I have to say I loved this place. I’d never went clubbing in Tacoma before, but this place was great! We got there kinda early on a Friday night (around 10:30pm), which was perfect because they still had tables available. If you don’t get a table, there is free seating, but not very much. However, there’s a lot of room to stand if you don’t mind that. My group of 6 bought a table for the night and it was definitely worth it! We worked with K.C. to get a table and he was so wonderful to us :) I will for sure be contacting him again. The club does a great job with the space they have. I never felt cramped, even when the place started filling up.
I love Vegas, and this club has a definite «Vegas-​y» feel to it. ADORED the décor and modern style. Friendly and accommodating staff, and were very professional. One of the guys in my group wasn’t dressed completely to their code, but they were very understanding and let him come in as long as he took off his hat. Great security and awesome drinks! Our server JJ was so sweet and took care of us extremely well. When we go back, we’re absolutely gonna request that she be our server again!
Anyone who rates this club down, is in my opinion a club rat and shouldn’t be complaining about little superficial things like the patrons not being in «dress code». Sorry but that’s ridiculous, lol. This place had excellent costumer service and my group and I had an amazing time :) That’s all I care about. All of us agreed, its one of our go-​to spots from now on.

I have to say that this bar is beautiful. great customer service and outstanding waitress service. The way they checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed was like no service we received before from any other bar. Two OUTSTANDING promoter’s here were also on top of everything making sure we had everything (Billy S and Mike H). I will be back that is for sure! I would have to say this is a seattle grade bar in the Tacoma area! GO GO GO!!!
I think valet would be a nice touch, even though it is in Tacoma, the bar has all the qualities to pull it off.

I think the 1 review that is listed is from someone who works here or is somehow affiliated with this venue.
First off, I will say that the venue itself is pretty chic for a Tacoma club, that I give them! They do a good job trying to present a Vegas-​style venue as they say with the security, décor and set-​up… unfortunately what they fail to deliver in is the fact that this is Tacoma and they need to «check» the customers that they are attracting!!! They have a supposed «dress code» which obviously wasn’t enforced:(and the DJ was pretty mediocre:(I heard something about Playboy bunnies being there that night but I don’t think «local» Tacoma girls count as that! hahahaha… in other words didn’t see anything close, not that I was looking. Must be a marketing ploy.
All in all the venue was okay, the drinks decent and the cover wasn’t that bad, but again we are in Tacoma people, recognize that!
