Made it into Charles’s shop today, and wow I was amazed. I definitely need more than 15 to take it all in. Price wise this place is phenomenal for your glass pipe needs. He has my business for sure, and I hope many others as well. Bonnie

I’ve checked many other record stores in this 6th street area except for that«Golden Age(or whatever)…» records… yet. So far I find this place to be PErFeCt for me since it is big enough and the owner stocks all the good stuff. Quality records and NOT just huge quantity of ‘waste of time looking through’ records. The price is ~reasonable to right on the money, he knows quite well how much the records are worth even comparing with ebay. You’re not going to see any new or current vinyls but only the original«old» vinyl LPs from Abba to ZZ Top. I’ve had the privilege to check the vinyls in the back and he got them all alphabetized and most of them are in great conditions. Talking of ‘conditions’, I can’t remember going to any record stores(these days) and see so many 80’s vinyls in still SEALED(Eddy Grant LP with«I Don’t Want To Dance», Abba, Cyndi Lauper«She’s So Unusual», etc…). The typical LPs are priced at $ 5 each, some $ 8 and some of them sealed LPs from the 80’s $ 15 and of course from there there’s stuff that’s priced up higher. I do wish this store would be better known to other collectors but every time I go there I mainly saw people buying something else ‘other than…” the records… There is no price tag on majority of the records and so you’d have to ask the owner which is a bummer and that made me just spend less than 15 minutes or so whereas I’d look thoroughly entire store but the owner also trades and so I returned second time and happy ever since. I’d say for Tacoma, this is the best record store to go to(if you’re into vintage LPs) and in Seattle, «Jive Times» in Fremont. Anyhoo, check this place out, it is no where as HUMONGOUS as «Amoeba» record store I’ve enjoyed going to in L. A. but more laid back…

I’m going to keep this short… They are a very conveniently located«record» store, that provide everything you need to «play good music.» They also have records, sports memorabilia, and lots of other stuff I’ve never actually taken a look at. While this store doesn’t really hold any value to me anymore, I would suggest that the college crowd takes a peek inside when they find themselves wandering drunkenly down 6th avenue.

Man oh man! Charles Rice sure runs a nice shop out on Tacoma’s awesome 6th Avenue. Not only does the shop have a cool name, he also has some sweet stuff inside. A room full of amazing vinyl(some of which is not yet marked, however, upon inspection Charles will give you a fair price). Also, some cool music posters, a ton of jeans, leather, some interesting tobacco and water pipes(some made out of shells!), incense, jewelry, and tons of sports cards. This man really knows how to collect. He has an amazing Roky Erickson collection he’s not ready to let go off yet… but someday soon he will… and i will be all over that! He was very kind and very informative, ready to share with me and my friend about the Seattle area’s other great record shops and what they had to offer, as well as give us his insights and personal music tastes. Definitely one of the highlights of my Seattle-Tacoma vacation!
