So sad to only give 3 stars to our favorite Grand County restaurant this trip. We have eaten at the Tabernash Tavern many many times and always had a great experience. Unfortunately, they were off their game tonight. Our server was clearly overwhelmed, the food didn’t come out in a timely fashion, and our cocktails did not get refreshed. And to top it off, they assigned a mandatory 20% tip to the bill even though two of our party of six were kids. I am sure we will try again, left a little disappointed today.

Delicious! Casual, ski/muntain ambiance which I love… with a twist — amazingly great food n drinks! We came here for our anniversary and it was awesome. Ordered a delicious bottle of brut champagne($ 24). Not sure where else u can pop bottles and have rack of lamb while ur wearing jeans n a tank top after mountain biking all day. Better than anything ever had in denver for the same price point. Hands down. We spoke to and complemented the chef which u e never done before in my life. It definitely exceeded my expectations

Pricy spot but excellent. It’s small and homey but quite a bit nicer in all ways than we expected. Entrees around $ 31 and steaks $ 50ish. Staff nice. Locals, some with kids were nice. Seafood lovers and steak lovers would expect to be happy. But spicy food lovers try the salmon. But ask for it to be cooked to your liking. Mine was way too rare and I don’t recall being asked a preference. But with that caveat this is your winter park splurge. Staff was nice and helpful. Really just pleasantly surprised all the way around.

The very BEST in Grand County! Love their happy hour as well as their dinner entrée selections. The staff are well trained and very attentive plus provide the local welcome attitude.

Great looking menu, unfortunately the food did not live up to the hype… Or price point. 3⁄5 of the meals were done well however the halibut was eerily cold. The place definitely has an odd ambiance for the cost. But hey, maybe you like to stare at a suitcase nailed to the wall while you scarf down a $ 50 steak.

This place is definitely a hidden gem! They were booked up, but hostess seated us anyway. Paella is incredible. Deserts outstanding. Mussels awesome. Such a great place. Excellent Wine selection. Love it!

Made a reservation and when we called to confirm, they had no record of it. That would not have been a big deal, except the woman on the phone acted like it had to be our fault(there could be no possibility they made a mistake apparently!) and offered no apology. Will not make an effort to go again.

Ate here over Valentines Day and everything was amazing! Spent a lot of time around Winter Park and tried several places, this one blows them all out of the water! Worth the drive from WP!

Food was good, but man, dinner took FOR-EV-ER. We had reservations for 12 people and had to wait to be seated. Yes, 12 is a lot people, but we had just confirmed our reservation a few hours before so you’d think they’d be ready for our big group. Anyway… I realize that 12 is a big group to serve, but service was unnaturally slow. We had to ask for bread numerous times. I’d say it took about an hour to get our food. We were all so hungry that no one really talked during the meal and we scarfed down our food down in about 15 min. Then, we had to wait 30 min for the check! We were sooo ready to leave by the end of it. A good restaurant should make you want to come back, not have you running for the door! Finally, it was a very pricey restaurant. I’m from Chicago, so I’m used to hefty prices, but this was a little ridiculous. For example: I ordered paella to share with another person — we cleared our plate even after a big appetizer. My go-to Spanish restaurant in Chicago offers paella for $ 12-$ 15 per person and it is a HUGE delicious dish. Tabernash’s paella was just ok and was $ 40! Overall, the food was good but not worth the price and slow service.

Less than stellar. Waiter was indifferent. Food was ok but definitely not worth the price. $ 50 steak was more like a $ 10 cut. Calamari was good. Muscles were good but didn’t take on all the different favors they offered. Way too much garlic in everything

Our second meal at the Tabernash Tavern during our brief stays in Winter Park, CO. This gem is hidden in a town(?) of lumber yards and junk yards just east of Frasier. The vintage building can easily be missed, but it would be a mistake to pass it by. The food is creative, delicious, with a lovely presentation. Great wine. Lamb, steak and hunter’s kebobs. Both of our meals have been fantastic.

Went in with a group of friends on a recommendation from a local while on a weekend ski trip. Great atmosphere and great service. If you’re a vegetarian, this isn’t your place. Expensive, but great quality food, very flavorful. When I looked at the menu online ahead of time, I had my heart set on the crab stuffed trout. When I got to the restaurant, it wasn’t on the menu. They had a great seafood pasta special that six of eight of us at the table were planning on getting, only to find out they were out of pasta. Seriously? I was pretty disappointed at that point as I wasn’t feeling any other entrées and I’m not a steak eater, so I settled for a burger for $ 20. The salads were awesome, again very flavorful. Wished I would’ve stayed with a large wedge salad and another small taste/app. I’d go back, but probably with some reservations.

This is a fabulous find in the cutest little old town in Grand County. I have past this restaurant many times and I am thrilled that we finally stopped to give it a try. The bar in the front is so quaint that it makes me want to go back just to sit at the bar and enjoy some of the wonderful wines they serve. We enjoyed fabulous dinning with outstanding food and loved the wine selection. I love mussels so I had to try those and loved every bite. My husband got the rack of lamb and I have to admit I stole more than a few bites. Yummy!!! The service was top notch, we didn’t have to wait for anything. The ambiance was great! They had it beautifully decorated for Christmas, which led to an even more enjoyable experience. We had our family here from Oklahoma and they were all very impressed by the food and environment. We will be back in the near future for sure! Look forward to more soon!

Best little secret of the area! It is a must for each trip if you only eat out one time go here! Very nice wine selection and the steaks are very good! The menu changes about every 3 – 4 months with some of the main items riding through the changing seasons. Very good salad selection and the cream brûlée is a great end to a FUN delicious evening with the family or just you and the lovely wife!

Always good, but if you want a steak cooked right this is not to go. If I have to return a 27 dollar steak twice because it was over cooked, obviously then you don’t know what you were doing. Rare is not well done and rare is not medium rare . No comp on the steak. It’s a shame cause the food is great … But you may have to return it. Oh and if you want to wait 30 min for your reserved Table to clear … Check this place out. ! Not worth the drive from Wp to tabernash

Great service, and the small bites menu during happy hour was far larger than anticipated! As lovers of leftovers, this was quite the way to end an already enjoyable experience. Can’t wait to get back there!

Beyond all expectations is the only thing that you can say about the Tabernash Tavern… service was too notch, and the food was beyond better than michellin star restaurant s that I have eaten at. I had the chicken tois, and my wife had the Berkshire porkchop… both dishes as well as the mudslide pie dessert were astonishingly good. I’ll be back to sample the rest of the menu as soon as I can

Bottom line. Best food around«Tabernash.» BUTANYONEWHOGIVESTHISPLACE5 stars is still dazed from getting hit on the head with a $ 400 bill for average food. You can tell that there has been some thought and time put into the menu. So it gets 3 stars though could have been 4. People rave about some of the dishes that we didn’t have but wish we did. A great atmosphere, relaxed, and creative elements to the dishes and presentation. Tasty. Thats asking allot for Tabernash! HOWEVER! There were 2 things that made the experience a little less great. One: The awkward sentence at the bottom of the menu… «We politely decline any requests to changes on the menu.» Who writes that on the menu!!! Lol. I guess if your the only restaurant in town you think your better than you are… It made you afraid to ask for anything and i guess that is the point. FORTHEPRICEPIONT… they should have offered to do ANYTHING we asked like on ANYPLATE like a real restaurant. Two: WAY, WAY, WAY, OVERPRICED. I ordered a VERY average ribeye for 50 $. I have eaten at every great steakhouse in Denver… And theirs doesn’t even come close to any of them. If you are used to Elway’s for a 50 $ experience that makes you come back… don’t even try you will be disappointed and stop for a burger on the way home. but not theirs, the AVERAGE price for ours was $ 20 per! TWEEENNNTTTYYY Dollars for a burger! That was good, not great. We eat nice and enjoy good food, But things need to be accurate for the price. 7 people = 4 hamburgers, one salad, two sides of mac and cheese, 4 bowls of soup before hand(12 $ per), three steaks and drinks(no alcohol, no appetizers, no desserts) with tip. $ 400 And I wasn’t full. WHEN I LEFT I THOUGHT: Big fish in a small pond.

Phenomenon! Everything we ordered in our party of eight was absolutely phenomenon! Make reservations, this little restaurants gets packed at times. The server was awesome and was knowledgeable about the menu and which wine to pair our meals with. The ambiance was cozy and perfect for a small town setting. Will definitely come back here and enjoy another amazing meal.

The atmosphere is really great. We basically had the whole back area to ourselves, early bird special time! Cute lights hanging cute decorations. Server was nice and attentive! Food was delicious! Yum. Places like this need your business to survive keep it local people!
