ESF is a great school dedicated to the environment! If you’re thinking about going here, go to their website, call the department, and visit! This school is very unique, and gives you small school atmosphere within a larger school SU right next door.

If you’re using Unilocal to choose a college, you might be in the wrong place.
But I will tell you this: if you are passionate about the environment, go to ESF. It’s really that simple. The student body and profs are as cultivating as you could ever hope for, and the resources available to you are absolutely outstanding.
ESF has a real masters-​level feel. Most classes focus on research topics, and as an undergrad you will find many, many opportunities to work on real, original, publishable research as a low-​paid intern.
Keep in mind — ESF is hard. If you want a walk in the park, go to SU. ESF is not a party school. This is a place for people who are ready to put in some hard work and learn a lot.
The price is the going SUNY rate, which makes it a good financial decision. Going into $ 80,000 of debt at a private school will certainly not improve your chances of getting a good job. Going to a focused school that will build a specialized network will.

As a graduate, I suppose I am biased in giving my old college a good review. There are a number of majors to choose from. Off the top of my head: Environmental & Forest Biology, Conservation Biology, Forestry, Environmental Studies, and the rest. The professors are, overall, very good. The college also allows you to take some classes at the neighboring Syracuse University. This campus also has some nice field stations, such as those at Cranberry Lake and Governor’s Island in the Thousand Islands area. Whoohoo! I’m the first to review ESF!
