I’ve tried many of the Mediterranean restaurants around Long Island and this is now my favorite for their food. I say the food, because the décor is not great… it’s a little dark and unadorned, but I come for the food. First of all their steaming hot pita bread that comes out before the meal is to die for. It is not cut into little triangles like most restaurants serve it, but a whole piece. It is soft, doughy, hot and melts in your mouth… really yummy. I always get the chicken kabob on the skewers. The chicken is moist and flavorful and comes with grilled onions and mushrooms. The side of rice is nice as well. Others in my party have had the lamb kabobs, the lamb chops and shrimp kabobs. All are excellent. I have to try some of their other dishes one day but it’s hard to steer my away from what I know is delicious. I can’t wait to return.

I admit I don’t go very often as I live very far away, but found this place to be one of the better Mediterranean restaurants I’ve been to in the area. I would say Wild Fig offers both satisfactory service and food and look forward to eating there the next time I’m in the area.

Staff was friendly and nice. Food was awful. Ordered chicken gyro dinner. Only had chicken and burnt to a crisp veggies. Would not recommend.

Though food was very good, service was horrible. Our waitress(Diren D) did not smile one bit and we felt like she couldn’t be bothered being there. Thank goodness for the bus boy who was very attentive.

Ordered-in from one of the LI locations at cousin’s place in LI, several times. Good food. Ate at this particular location a few months back, good food though slightly heavy on the salt. Friendly service.

I really love the food at wild fig. Every time without hesitation, the spicy feta appetizer is ordered to the table. Never met a soul that hasn’t absolutely loved it. Comes out with two bit pitas more than enough for two people. Today I decided to try the Babaganoush. Seemed like a good dish, just not for me. Flavor is too eggplant strong but it’s my fault, I obviously should have guessed that. I followed that up with the gyro meat lunch special platter. So basic, so simple, so delicious. Comes with rice pilaf, gyro meat, and some slowly roasted vegetables. Not to mention beautifully played. My girlfriend wanted the falafel lunch special, but to our surprise they don’t offer a side salad instead of rice pilaf or French fries. Weird. So she had to settle for a main menu item. Just a small detail that’s kind of annoying. That along with preeeetty slow service is why I was going back between 3 and 4 stars. If the owner reads this review, please for gods sake open up another fast casual Wild Fig like the one that is in Roslyn. I live in Farmingdale and I’m willing to bet it would be an absolute HIT in this town as well. Your fast casual Wild Fig is leaps and bounds better than the restaurant but that’s just my opinion. Thanks for reading!

I stopped by while I was visiting from California. I was missing the taste of great Mediterranean food. I ordered the grillied chicken, shrimp, sirloin trio. It was tasty and well cooked. The service was excellent. I’ll definitely make this place a regular stop on my every visit.

First let me just say the outside of this place is deceiving. It looks like it’s only a takeout place. However! Now that the negative is out of the way. Oh my lord, was that food delicious!!! I got here early afternoon with my mother, uncle, and grandmother. Took them out to lunch. We went here at Wild Fig. Absolutely a great pick on my end. Everyone in my party thought the food was wonderful. We all ordered something off the Lunch Menu. You get to order an entrée dish, along with 1 Appetizer, or Soup, or Salad. I went with the Feta Cheese Cigars which were out of this world of you love feta cheese! Next I ordered the Gyro Lunch. It came with beef and lamb sliced on a plate with a bowl amount of rice. They give you a stack of pita bread for the table and that white yogurt sauce that you normally get at Mediterranean restaurants(sorry I can’t even figure out how to spell it not say«tezikisauce»? There I tried) over all. Wonderful interior here. The Décor is modern and basic which is a relief from something so cluttered. The waitress was so sweet and was really helpful with discussing why dishes were which. Overall, don’t let the exterior fool you. Unilocalers need to give this place a try

One of my favorite places for pide and hummus. Salads, chicken, gyros all cooked to order. Fresh ingredients. Wonderful decadent desserts in the display are always tempting to take home. Great for a quiet dinner or even a group. Service is excellent.

Came here on a Monday afternoon for lunch with my mom. Seeing the Zagat and«Long Island’s best» signs in the doorway, my expectations were high. I have to say I was a bit disappointed. Their Feta Cigar appetizer, which was recommended by the waiter Boris, was sub par. The spicy feta was yummy, if you like the taste of feta cheese(and a lot of it). The lentil soup was hot and decent, though it lacked a spark. I ordered a pomegranate mojito which was tart and refreshing. I would come back just for that. For the entrée we ordered chicken kebabs(delicious) and Moussaka, which was good but definitely not the best I’ve tasted. Maybe I’ve been spoiled by the delicious plethora of Greek food around Bayside. In any case, this place was good but not my favorite at all. Also there were fruit flies annoying us throughout the meal. And Boris could have listened to our order a little better. 3 stars.

Feta cigars are good but spicy feta dip is sooo tasty. A salad and a topper like grilled shrimp or gyro meat are consistent winners

I live and work in the neighborhood and go here pretty often for lunch and occassionally for dinner. The food is always consistently good, even for take out. Service is attentive and friendly. Great salad toppers.

What can I say… we ordered our regular; 2 Greek Salads with Gyro Meat and a side order of Dulma(Grape Leaves)…Both were fresh, plentiful and went well with the freshly made fat crispy pita bread. The salads had my favorite; peppercini’s and olives and were topped with plenty of feta and of course extra dressings. yum…When ordering in its nice to know that what is being delivered is going to be great every time. We are so happy to have Wild Fig in our neighborhood and that they deliver! Doesnt get any better than this… therefore the 5 stars!

Possibly my favorite Mediterranean restaurant ever. I grew up in Syosset and currently live in Manhattan, but when I visit my family I ALWAYS ask to eat here. Their Greek salad is out of this world!

The place is great for groups. The staff are friendly and fast. The food…6 of us all didn’t like any of our food. From tasteless to soggy. Nothing was good. I left apologizing to everyone for picking this place.

This is a good place to stop for lunch or dinner when in Syosset Jericho Tpk area. It’s always good. If you get a platter, they will switch out the pilaf for roasted vegetables. Good grilled kebobs. It’s a restaurant and bar for drinks.

I came to have dinner with a friend and I usually go to the Wild Fig in Garden City. I have no complaints with the one in Garden City. However, the one in Syosset, my biggest complaint is the service. We sat down and I was counting down the minutes on when the waitress was going to come our table. I was this close to get the bus boys attention because they were just waiting for clean up. Close to 25 minutes we finally got our waitress, but can I blame her? No, there were only two waitresses in this semi large restaurant. The waitress we had was fine, no attitude issues or anything. Once we got our drinks and orders in, our food came fast, so there’s no complaints on that. It’s just the service, really, really slow. I also noticed that a lot of senior citizens were the customers so maybe the waitresses are taking their time? Who knows.
