I enjoyed the ambiance of this joint. Dark, and felt like the date in «Fast Times at Ridgemont High». Except Damone did not have to bring my husband his wallet. F. had his. The booth seating was a little… springy. I feel for non-cushy butts. I liked the fact that they had paintings under the glass tabletop. Tortilla chips cost $ 1.50 if you want more. The salsa was good. It could be too spicy for some… it seemed to be medium-spiced as opposed to mild. You can order by number if you are not picky. Or you can say, «Can I get a number eleven with no sour cream?». The food came fairly quickly. The taste of my chicken quesadilla was delicious, but the cheese was so thick in spots that it could be a choking hazard. The rice was old. The Mexican salad came with guacamole! My husband was not crazy about his meal. He got beef tacos. The bathroom was down a long hall. That fact allowed me to set up an alley joke for my husband. It was clean, and it had decorations. I like that touch. They have dessert menus and three different hot sauces at the table. Prices were decent. I would patronize Patron again if I get the chance.

This place seems to have decent reviews but it didn’t measure up for our lunch visit. It was noon on a Friday and the place was packed so in fairness that probably caused some of the issues. The bad — service was slow; we were seated before other parties and our food came out afterward; our server was not particularly attentive; our order was not correct; my wife ordered a vegetarian dish and it was bland(on the verge of inedible). The good — the staff and manager were courteous and friendly; staple items like tacos and enchiladas were solid; chips and salsa were fantastic. If you live in Sylvia and frequent this place you probably know what to order. Otherwise, you’ll end up feeling like you should have stopped at the Taco Bell across the street(and I’m not a big fan of Taco Bell).

We had dinner there last week and were pleasantly surprised. The food is the most authentic Mexican food that I have had since living in Modesto California. The staff is welcoming and very sweet. The portions are large and everything we ordered was delicious. Be sure and try their poblano chili with guacamole. Their salsa and queso dip are delicious and definitely made there.

My wife and I ate there after church and were very happy with everything about it. Loved my chimichanga fajitas! The salsa was some of the freshest I’ve ever had served in a restaurant. My wife raved about the shrimp fajitas. Nice portion size, so it is a great price performer. Service was polite and fast. It was packed with people but I never felt rushed nor did I wait long for anything. This is now on my favorite list. I’ll be back!

Luckily we arrived 4 minutes before the lunch special was over and the waiter let us order of that menu. The poblano pepper stuffed with cheese was a bit chewy, like the pepper wasn’t fully roasted and skinned. The fish taco was pretty good, fried, but not greasy. The salsa was very good, but we had to ask for more, along with chips, while we waited for our lunch. Overall, the food was good, the waiter, okay, but to get there from the highway was a bit of a hassle.

Generous portions of usual suspects on the menu — plus pleasant surprises as well(caldo de camarones, for example). Very busy Sunday night — and as we left, a wait started developing. The bistec San Felipe(I think… Last page, 2nd or 3rd option) was well prepared. Kids had fajitas and chicken tacos. If we were hankering for Mexican, and we happened to be in the same town, we’d return.

Wonderful food and service. I ordered a burrito dish with two burritos, one with ground beef and the other one with chicken. They were both delicious. For 8.99 the burritos were big(I only got to finish 2⁄5 of them). They served complimentary nachos, so that was a plus.

Fantastic Mexican dive! Tons of options, fresh salsa, and killer grilled dishes. We loved the Fajitas Patron, the Tacos Jalisco and the Burrito a la Roqueta. Everything we ordered was fast, ultra fresh, and inexpensive. Will visit again.

Second visit. Tried the margarita. Cheap mix and tequila. Still went with the great food. Lunch menu has great prices but still large portions. Looking forward to another visit next week.

The food is good. I eat here when Sazon is closed, as they do shut down operations in the late afternoon. El Patron gets the silver medal for Mexican cuisine in Sylva. The food is quick, service friendly, but it is a Walmart Parking lot, and the menu isn’t very unique.

Fourth visit. Great service. Food steaming hot and flavorful. Margaritas win again. We are always happy here, I guess that’s why we’ve started eating here every week. Need to exercise more, ha ha!
