Such a wonderful stable and Lisa the trainer is great. Relaxed fun atmosphere and just a joy to go and hang with some wonderful people. Lisa is always safety first but fun is right up there with that to. Have been at many barns and this barn is at the top of my list!

My daughter took a short hiatus from riding in Burbank. When she expressed that she wanted to ride again, I was recommended to Lisa Kunz at The Riding School by two different people — one of whom is a life-time rider and show woman. My daughter began riding with Lisa over a year ago, and quickly fell in love with her amazingly trained horses and her teaching style. Lisa is the consummate professional, concerned for her students’ safety and her horses well-being. She is extremely knowledgable and experienced, and shares this with her students. My daughter is jumping for the first time and LOVES it. She feels safe with Lisa’s instruction and confident in the horses she rides. My second daughter began riding a few months ago and has progressed quickly. I believe this is due much in part to Lisa’s teaching skills. The teaching does not stop outside the riding arena, for Lisa encourages her students to learn about animal husbandry, caring for, feeding, grooming and tacking the horses. I am a farmer’s daughter, raised on a ranch. It it important for me that my children experience life outside the city, get a little dirty and engage in hard work. I often bring all four of my kids to enjoy a Saturday helping out with the horses. They all love it! What a reprieve from the hustle bustle of our daily lives. The Riding School is a great place to learn in so many ways. We are so happy we found it. I whole– heartedly recommend Lisa and her horses to anyone, beginner or advanced, looking to properly ride!

When I first moved to Los Angeles, I looked everywhere for a good riding school because I didn’t want(or have the money to) own my own horse while going to college. I really wanted to improve my equitation and start jumping, since I’d been doing flatwork for a decade. I checked out the riding programs in Malibu and Burbank. I trained in Malibu(name of the stables withheld) for three months before moving. I would go every week and because the lesson program was so large, the trainers did not remember anything I was working on, let alone my name. I ended up bending circles for months. After forking out $ 80 for a 45 minute lesson, of which 35 minutes I actually rode, I said enough was enough and looked somewhere else. I spoke to a girl I worked with at an eventing barn and she told me about Baycrest. I decided to check it out. I took a riding evaluation and that very first day I got to pop over a crossrail or two, and I was ecstatic! The Riding School trainer, Lisa, is amazing. It’s almost as if she can read my mind. My lessons are easily an hour, at least, and I’m paying $ 25 less than at the other place. The lesson program is small, but the horses are incredible. They are extremely well-cared for and are completely sweet. I definitely get my money’s worth at Baycrest and now I’m spending three to four days a week there. I’d recommend Baycrest to anyone who wants to learn how to ride, continue learning, or train for shows at the Training Barn.

My daughter wanted to take English riding lessons and we found Baycrest farms. She has been taking lessons for a while now and loves it! The instructors are great with kids and there horses are really sweet.

If you want to learn how to ride jumpers give Lorna a call. She is very nice and a great teacher. They also do horse camps in the summer which the kids LOVE. We are here almost every weekend for the last few years and are lucky it is so close. We know people who drive here from LA and Santa Monica so they must be doing something right! PS: Jumpers are horses who jump of course ;)
