Fantastic Mother’s Day Brunch menu! I asked for a side of fruit for my 3-year older have with his Belgium waffle which was non existent on the menu-and the waiter came back with a fruit masterpiece. My son was in awe. Great service. Fantastic food. Tip: if trying to make a reservation on a holiday call weeks in advance. I booked three weeks out for Mothers Day and tried to modify my reservation to accommodate two more family members the week before and I could not.

Hidden away on route 6 in Swansea is an absolute home run. I had wedge salad and the duck wings for an appetizer and the chicken pot pie for a main meal. The duck wings I could eat all night crispy tender and perfectly done. Wedge salad was perfrect not to much blue cheese and a perfect amount of bacon. To my surprise the chicken pot pie was amazing. Beautifully presented it was an open face pot pie with wonder braised chicken and mash potatoes peas carrots onions and green onions. If i were presenting this dish I might do a popover vs the puff pastry that they stratigically lay across the top. But, i’m nit picking. Great food great service great atmosphere great night.

Discovering hidden treasures near Providence, RI The Aviary is better than advertised. Exceptionally friendly service, bartenders that take pride in how and what they mix and serve. Now the food is lovely; we had the crab cakes, duck wings — nothing short of Flavortown heaven, the scallops, perfectly cooked and served with a nice couscous and other morsels and the duck breast with the best Brussel sprouts and a velvety dream of mash potatoes, all together very delightful and a definite come back soon; The atmosphere is very nice and we can’t wait for warmer weather when you can enjoy all the goodies outside. It’s worth the trip from Boston, no doubt about it.

The atmosphere and burgers are great! The drinks are a little pricey, but tasty. Good place for a ladies luncheon.

I have nothing but amazing things to say about the aviary. For starters it’s one of the most beautiful restaurants I’ve ever been to and the food is absolutely incredible. Their drink menu is both different and inventive(I highly recommend the whooping crane) and I have not had one menu item that was anything less than perfection. From their thin crust pizzas to their lemon chicken to their dreamy crème brule the thing I can say for certain is this is my new favorite spot. Can’t wait until they open up the patio in warmer weather!

Went for lunch today with a friend. She ordered a pizza which she was very happy with– thin crust with a salad type topping. I ordered the clam chowder with crab cakes. Chowder creamy and tasty– reminiscent of the Venus de Milo down the street– could have been same recipe. The crab cakes were just OK– I tend to compare all crab cakes with Legal Seafood and always disappointed! Served wth a bean salsa and a spicy? Cranberry sauce that did not complement the crab cakes. Would not order either again. Garden room was beautifully but view was of the parking lot. Also very noisy

Muchroom pasta is the best pasta I have tried in my entire life. Thick cream sauce and extra chicken makes it perfect. Very inviting atmosphere

Went here on Valentine’s Day with my girlfriend for dinner. Our service was perfectly punctual, the ambience and mood was nice although I think they could do with a better playlist in my opinion but not a big deal. The food was disappointing. My girlfriend’s fish and chips was significantly over-salted and my ribeye was ordered medium but came out beyond rare and was quite flavorless. I can take some fault that I could have waved my waiter over and have it addressed but I felt I worked on it too much to ask for it to be sent back or for a freebie. Sadly, we could have gotten better at any other diner or even a Friendly’s. The deserts were good. I ordered a piece of chocolate cake and my girlfriend ordered a piece of cheesecake. Absolutely no complaints with those, delicious. I’ll chalk it up to the chef being overworked due to it being V-Day.

We went here for our Anniversary and really thoroughly enjoyed it. We’re always looking for a nice place to celebrate special occasions, and seem to have bad luck when we do find one, so I hope The Aviary is around for our next celebratory need. We couldn’t help ourselves and had to try the«duck wings» appetizer — which was the absolute right choice. Super delicious, with crispy skin and a tasty sauce on the side. The food was spot on, and made from locally sourced ingredients(which they point out where from on the menu). The atmosphere was appealing for our intimate dinner desires; while we were there a close by table was clearly celebrating the Holidays(this was the end of December), and it didn’t seem to detract from the intimate setting. Service was good, if a little slow. I do think they were a little on the busy side for a Sunday evening, and it seemed to effect service, my guess is they weren’t expecting the restaurant to fill up quite so much. Overall, I would say the place is «just fancy enough» to not feel fussy, which seems to be perfect for a nice night out spot. I don’t know if I would take a group there, but we’ll need to try it more than once for that determination. My thoughts on that might be clouded by the fact that we went there for our Anniversary, and not just for dinner.

Stopped by for lunch recently, it was terrific. The bar had a good draft selection and the food was great. Definitely going there for dinner real soon.

Went here for the first time a few weeks ago and loved it! The atmosphere is very airy and bright. We felt like we were at a fancy brunch, but their prices told us differently! Everything is super affordable. When my boyfriend and I walked in, he was like, «is this too fancy for us?» And I was like… I don’t think so? He ordered nachos and I had a wrap. My wrap was mediocre, but I didn’t care. The prosecco distracted me We ended with espresso and happy faces. Afterwards, we went to the boutique next door and I loved it! We will be back.

Took the family here for our annual«after the Christmas Carol» dinner. It was our first time here and I must say I was very impressed! Everything was perfect, the atmosphere, the service and most importantly the food. I highly recommend it!

Not a stellar night for Aviary. Disappointing too, because it seems that they have all of the ingredients to put together a nice experience for guests, they just aren’t using them. I started with a bottle of wine. It needed to be chilled, no problem I can wait, and they did try, and try, and try to get it right, but just couldn’t put it together. They even offered another nice bottle, which was already at the correct temp, and looking back I should have just said yes. Lesson learned. For future reference, add a ¼ cup of salt to ice water, and submerge it, the bottle will chill in 5 – 6 minutes. My Caesar Salad had nice crisp greens, a bit too finely chopped but fine just the same, and a novel sliced and toasted croûton instead of the traditional cubes. Problem is, its not really a Caesar without the dressing, and this salad had no dressing at all. I’m not sure it was even waved near the dressing. Nice lettuce though. My first bite of the RI Calamari proved much better. Nice crispy breaded squid, served with tentacles as well. But the second one, not so much. It seems we were served a mixture of fresh, correctly cooked calamari, and some quite a bit tougher bits. The dish a mixed bag of decent fried seafood and a rubbery alternative, reminded me of the line from Forest Gump. The special Hangar Steak was served cold, I’m guessing that was another mistake, with a bright green Chimichurri that tasted of Italian parsley and not much else. I was curious enough about my Lobster Mac N’ Cheese that I nearly asked if it had been served correctly. The cheese sauce was right on par with a light brothed soup, and I was not certain that was intentional or that someone forgot to make the roux. Had I not started the whole-on dance with the wine right off the bat, with the manager at the table and ½ the bar working the ice, I might have asked, but enough drama for the evening was had at that point. It seems to me that in the very least there is a lack of oversight, or any careful attention in this kitchen. How else could you explain miss after miss, again and again. One dish I could get, but every one, just points to a lack of care or maybe interest. Point taken, I’ll go somewhere else. Solid D.

Not impressed. The food was alright — nothing great, nothing bad. My problem here was the server. I asked for the«aviary burger» without a bun or cheese because of allergies. I asked for mushrooms to be added to the burger. I ordered the mixed greens as my side. When the food came out, all I had was a pile of lettuce and a hamburger with mushrooms on it. There was no avocado, lettuce, or onion. I didn’t get the salad dressing either. The server didn’t ask if I needed any condiments either. When she checked with our table it took 3 times for our server to bring me the proper things. As I asked her for the missing items, she was already walking away. She did this three times… she didn’t even let myself or another person at the table finish our sentence. It was quite ridiculous.

Apps: Calamari was tender and cooked perfectly. The duck wings were delicious(nice and spicy). Charcuterie app was also well done. Loved the roasted garlic and chilled onion. The meat and cheeses were very good(based on others in my party). Main course: I had the crusted scallops 5 good sized broiled scallops encrusted with chourico. A saffron butter sauce to add some flavor. Tender and cooked just right. The fingerling potatoes were crispy and the asparagus was crisp and fresh. I tasted the strip steak. It was cooked as ordered tender and flavorful.

I went to the Aviary with a group of six to celebrate my sisters birthday on a Saturday night. We had reservations, and were seated right away. The restaurant is gorgeous, and although we sat inside, I really look forward to going back and sitting outside on the patio. I tried the Blue Duck martini, which was ok– very sweet. I switched to beer after that. My sister is pregnant and wanted some type of virgin cocktail since the rest of the party was drinking, and our waitress recommended some different drinks she could try, which was appreciated. The table split fried calamari(which I don’t eat but everyone else really enjoyed) and the fried gnocchi(which was not bad, as long as you got a forkful with bacon in it for some extra flavor) for appetizers. The appetizers came out quickly, although our bread took a long time for some reason. For dinner, I ordered the special, which was a New York strip steak with mashed potatoes and green beans. It was delicious, although my steak was not cooked right. My fiancé and I ate the same thing, and our steaks were both cooked medium, although I ordered mine medium rare. And one of my worst favorite things at a restaurant is an over cooked steak. But the sauce and sides were great, so I can overlook it, and will just know to order it rare if I get a steak there again. Others ordered the pizza, pork chops, baked pasta, and lemon pepper chicken and everyone loved their food. We also all shared a side of the truffle fries which were perfectly crunchy. I would definitely recommend having these with whatever meal you get. Everyone was too full for dessert, but the dessert menu was tempting, and I definitely plan to save room when I go back. I will definitely return– good food, good service, and over all a great experience. Swansea is not full of great restaurants, but this one is definitely worth visiting.

I finally made it to the Aviary and really enjoyed my dinner here. The space is light, bright and airy with a few different rooms to sit. We were seated in the Garden room on a very busy Saturday night. For how busy the place was, we were not rushed at all, which is impressive considering we lingered for 3.5 hours. Huge kudos to our waitress, Sarah, who gave us all the time we needed to chat and catch up. The food was definitely good. I had the scallops with asparagus and mashed and enjoyed them. Others at the table had the baked pasta and the flat iron steak and also enjoyed their meals. The apple cider beignets for dessert were also tasty. While this is in Swansea, as far as the pricing goes, expect Providence pricing, not Fall River pricing. There is a lovely patio that I look forward to enjoying a cocktail on in the warmer weather.

A friend and I had a awesome lunch here! I love the way this place is decorated and laid out. The bar area is so inviting and the bird cages are a terrific touch. Our lunch consisted of there special grilled cheese sandwich with a bowl of tomato basil soup. Outstanding! Our server Dawn was so attentive and personable. She recommended apple crisp for dessert which was new to the menu. Incredible as well! Dawn also told us a little about they will be expanding in the summer to a pub style patio setting offering brick oven pizzas . Nice touch. That is definitely something to look forward too.:)
