August 17, 2014. Awesome reviews on Unilocal so we thought we would give it a try. Surprise — out of business!!!

Just stopped by for dinner tonight… Doors locked, no lights on, and no signs saying they’re closed or open. Assuming it’s out of business. Too bad.

Excellent as always but understand they will be closing this weekend. Will have to drive a bit further to old Milton location but well worth the trip. Unfortunately this particular strip mall sits down from 141 and has had challenges in the past. Simons in Suwannee has outlasted every other restaurant there.

By far the best Chinese food in Georgia! Service is great and food is served fast! I highly recommend the Pad Thai, Mango Chicken and Lo Mein. Location is not the greatest, the restaurant itself is simple(decoration and restaurant atmosphere) but if you are looking for quality, great food, this is the place to be!

Very impressed! We don’t normally dine in this area but we were on our way home and based on Unilocal ratings we decided to try it out instead of our normal sit down Asian restaurant near home. The egg rolls were great, the coconut soup is the best I’ve had in Atlanta(rice, top spice, surin, harry & sons). Our meals were very good and large portions. $ 10 avg. The service was excellent. Large menu with American Chinese, noodle, and Thai dishes. The dining room is very nice for being in a strip mall. Give it a try!

Typical American Chinese menu with a few more authentic dishes and some surprises. Huge quantities, expect to take away a big doggie bag. The service we had was excellent as was the food. Value for money is great. This and the nearby Lui Fui(more authentic, poorer service but still good) will be my neighborhood standards for Chinese food now. Try the Singapore noodles for a change, this was really good.

Excellent service and food. Love the Hot & Sour soup. Every dish is delicious. My favorite Chinese restaurant. I try to make it in once a week.

My boyfriend and I went over to our friends’ house this weekend to hang out and after a rousing game of badminton, the four of us had worked up quite an appetite. So they suggested Chinese takeout and whipped out a menu for Simon’s — a very authentic sounding Chinese and Thai restaurant. The menu did look really good though, and Chinese food lovers that we are(it seems to get ordered from one place or other about one a week), we were game. Between all of us we ordered the steamed shrimp dumplings, steamed pork potstickers, the twice cooked pork, chicken with glazed walnuts, spicy pepper chicken, and fried rice. Less than an hour later, the food arrived piping hot in a giant paper bag. Holy cow, it turned out to be quite a lot of food — nothing we couldn’t handle, but I was really full afterwards. Everything was very tasty too — the shrimp dumplings were outstanding and reminded me so much of the ones I ate in Hong Kong at dim sum. The pork potstickers were a little dry on the outside but the filling and dipping sauce were good. The twice cooked pork wasn’t the best version I’ve ever had(that prize still goes to Fortune Cookie), but it was pretty well executed: thin slices of braised pork, lots of cabbage and carrots, and a slightly sweet sauce over everything. The chicken with glazed walnuts was good too — it was full of veggies like broccoli, peppers, mushrooms and onions along with the chicken and nuts in a sweeter sauce too. And although I didn’t try the spicy pepper chicken, the others enjoyed it. On an interesting side note, the fried rice was the darkest I’ve ever seen fried rice(I guess from lots of soy sauce?), but it was definitely good. Aside from being really full and feeling slightly over-salted from the various sauces on the food, I was well pleased with Simons. Our friends swear we have to try their curries as well, so maybe that will be on the menu next time.

Everything I’ve tried here has been great. Mango chicken its excellent. Wine list is unfortunately unimaginative and overpriced. Stick with beer, tea, or water and you’ll leave happy.

We have been twice before last night, and loved it. Great food, great service, good prices. However, we took friends last night(Saturday) at 7:00PM. We waited for ten minutes and no one even greeted us; did not een acknowledge that we were there. Two waitresses seemed to be working feverishly to wait on a ¾-full restaurant, with dishes piled behind the bar ten deep. It looked to be a disaster looking for a place to happen, so we left and went elsewhere. They need to staff up for the crowds of a Saturday night. We will go back, it is that good, but avoid the weekend.

We’ve been enjoying the Simon’s Chinese Cuisine location on Old Milton in Alpharetta and just saw on their website that they have a new location in Suwanee(south Forsyth area, near the Deerlake subdivision), so we checked it out for lunch today. Same owner and menu here as the Alpharetta location. This one evidently opened in Oct 2012. The interior here is completely different from their other location — quiet and more of an ITP, modern feel and is probably half the size of their other location as well. Food here was fine, I had the mandarin beef with steamed rice and my wife had the sesame chicken. I would say overall it is above average quality Chinese food — the chicken was mostly chunks of white meat and the portions were large for a lunch price, which was around $ 7 and included soup and egg/spring roll. I love their hot and sour soup. Service is excellent, great about keeping drinks refilled and the staff is very friendly. We’ll be going back.
