We ate here as a family on June 5. My wife and I had Penang shrimp with brown rice. And our daughter had the mongolian chicken. The food was some of the best we have ever had. We are looking forward to bringing other family members back here later in the month because they love Vietnamese food. We are looking forward to trying other selections on their extensive menu.

I’ve been thinking about trying this place for weeks now and finally I had a chance today to try them out at lunch. The place is fairly big compared to other Vietnamies /Thai places, very very clean, nice ambience and has that cozy feeling because of dark wood. Wait staff was very efficient and friendly. They have a variety of dishes, and drinks. I went with lunch special, that comes with Salad OR Roll. I went with Salad. I also ordered Grilled Chicken Rolls, just for the heck of it ;-) Nothing special about the salad, but I must say all the ingredients were fresh and lettuce leaves were crispy /crunchy. I loved the ginger dressing… perfectly balanced. 5⁄5 for Salad, because the salad bowl was fancy. Then came fresh rolls… on a nice, contemporary, clean, white dish… see the picture below. That’s called presentation! Nothing special about rolls, whatsoever. No taste, no flavor and no aroma(usually you can taste fresh basil at other places)…anyways, for $ 3.95, just the presentation makes it up. Finally, my General Tso’s chicken came with fried rice(+$ 1.00). Again, the plate it was served on was awesome. The food itself was around 3.5 stars range. Better than other places, but still missing that«awe“somness. Overall assessment: For $ 8.00 lunch special, at such a nice place, fancy serving plates, friendly and efficient staff, and average food, I would definitely go again and would recommend to others too!

I really enjoyed the massive amount of food we received for the price we paid. Even the medium size was too much for me to eat. My boyfriend was less impressed with the meat in his, he felt it was too fatty when he did not order the fatty bits(which is a thing you can do). Our server was attentive, but did forget to put tapioca pearls in my second tea.

Fresh and delicious. The fresh shrimp and pork rolls were excellent. I had the Garlic Basil with tofu. The portion was very large and loaded with perfectly cooked fresh vegetables. My friend had the grilled pork special with lemon grass sauce. He loved it and the portion was huge. The staff is very friendly and the restaurant is clean and pleasant. Would definitely return.

I rarely post a review but this place is really yummy! I’ve been living in Lawrenceville for about 4 years now and just cannot find an authentic place to get my Vietnamese food fix. I absolutely loathe Saigon Café around here. However, Green Basil got it right! They not only have Vietnamese food, but Thai as well. Husband got phở, which isn’t as authentic as the ones on Buford Hwy. but it was still pretty good. I got chargrilled chicken and shrimp with a lot of rice noodles. It was delicious &FRESH. The fish sauce accompanied with my meal was on point. They could’ve been a bit more attentive as far as service, but they did refill our drinks and were overall friendly. The place was nicely decorated with booths and tables. There’s also a large bar to the side. This is also a family friendly establishment. It has a 100& I can see why because it’s super clean! I would definitely come back! I am so happy that there’s something like this less than a mile from me so I don’t have to drive to Pleasant Hill or Buford Hwy. for yummy Vietnamese food! Next time I’ll try their Thai entrees.

Cute restaurant located in the same shopping center as the Suwanee Movie Tavern. I’ve dined in and ordered takeout. Really friendly service with both experiences. It’s listed as a Vietnamese restaurant on Unilocal, but you’ll find some Chinese and Thai dishes on the menu as well. The first time I ate here, I dined in. When I walked in, I immediately noticed how cute it was inside! I came around lunch time, and they do have lunch specials Mon-Fri until 3pm. I ordered the Honey Sesame Chicken lunch special. You get your choice of brown, steamed white, or fried rice and either a salad or a fried veggie roll. I went with fried rice and the veggie roll. I’d say the sesame chicken is better than what you would get with your typical Chinese takeout. I also ordered an iced coffee with condensed milk. It was okay, but I probably wouldn’t order it again. I like it much better at other places… seemed watered down or something here. When I got takeout, I ordered the Shrimp and Pork Fresh Rolls, Phở Tai, and Spicy Basil Chicken. I ordered prior to going and the lady on the phone was really nice and told me to give them about 10 minutes. The Shrimp and Pork Fresh Rolls were okay, but were mostly filled with noodles… like A LOT of noodles. The phở was also just okay for me. It tasted off, like the broth was lacking that normal phở flavor. I had a few bites of the Spicy Basil Chicken. I’m not a fan of spicy and I could easily tolerate it. The flavor wasn’t bad, but nothing amazing either.

I can see myself eating here from time to time when I don’t feel like cooking. The interior is very inviting, probably one of the better design than most Vietnamese restaurants. The service was good at the beginning but got to the point where we had to wave them down at the end to get our check was something that could have been avoided — there were only 3 tables full. But I digress. We ordered Chicken Pad Thai, Beef Green Curry, Chicken & Basil with Green Beans and Shakey Beef all with steamed rice. You can add $ 1 extra for fried rice and there’s also option for brown rice at no charge. My least favorite was the sauteed chicken with basil and green beans, it was a tad bit too salty for everyone at the table. So it wasn’t just me being particular. That being said, all the other dishes were surprisingly very delicious. The Shakey beef is my favorite, perfectly seasoned and seared beef with onions(they could cut back on the chopped onions by maybe half). The green curry and the pad thai were also tasty. I haven’t tried the phở so that’ll be on the list next. They also have a seafood platter on the back of the menu that comes with crawfish and crab legs for a set price. Sounds tempting… All in all, it was an enjoyable dinner. The place looks nice and clean.

Sometimes my reviews can get a little confusing when I’m torn over a star value. So I thought I’d break this one down into pro’s and con’s and you can decide for yourself the appropriate rating. PRO’S — Fast, friendly service — Attractive interior décor/ambiance — Excellent Spring Rolls(some of the best I’ve had in Atlanta) — The flavor of the shrimp fried rice was excellent(no enhancements needed) — The amount of meat in the steak phở was very generous CON’S — Although phở is good, it’s got a little kick to it. Our server said the ginger in the phở is probably causing the slightly spicy taste. — My family did not like the phở or the amount of onions in the shrimp fried rice — Pricing is a little on the higher end of typical phở bowls — They wanted to charge me $ 2 extra for phở Tai Bo Vien since they only serve it as meatball(Bo Vien) or steak(Tai Vien) and not as the very common meatball w/steak! SIDENOTE: They refunded me the $ 4 charged for 2 bowls of meatball phở w/steak after I noticed it on the bill. Unfortunately, I had already paid with my credit card, so they gave it back to me in cash. FINALTHOUGHTS I thought the phở was great! But then again I was in a mood for something different and they certainly delivered. My family, on the other hand, was looking for that traditional taste we all love and did not find the phở here to be to their liking. My older of my two youngest sons doesn’t like phở nearly as much as the rest of the family, so he ordered the fried rice. The flavor was amazing, but he thought there were too many onions and cut too large. I love onions, so I had no problem finishing what he didn’t want. 3.5-stars overall. 2016⁄64

I didn’t try anything but phở and fresh egg rolls but the taste was average. Phở was not very hot, should be steaming. The veggies and herbs were pretty skimpy. Not much flavor in the broth. The pork and shrimp rolls were huge but mostly rice. Didn’t like the taste of pork. Service is great and place is cute but I think I will pass next time.

Suwanee just got spicier and tastier. Green Basil is an awesome Asian(Vietnamese) place, that opened fairly recently but gained momentum quickly. Located on Lawrenceville Suwanee road at the Old Peachtree Road junction inside the Horizon Village complex(next to Movie Tavern), this food place made its debut with great service, good prices in comparison to amount served, nice décor and most important of all Great Food. Instantly, it became a big hit amongst people looking to torch up their taste buds with spicy good food. When we go to this restaurant, our orders are upgraded to extra extra extra extra spicy, no kidding!!! Although while eating this much spice, one might start hallucinating, but I am lovin it para pap pa ra. lol.(Copyright infringed) lol. This is one place that knows how to let the spicy loose. My experience includes their rice, lo mein, fried tilapia, fried shrimps and shrimp spring rolls. To be honest all of the items were good and worth trying. They also gave us a complimentary mango fluffy cake like dessert thing, which was like OMFG!!! Sadly as far as I know they don’t sell that particular dessert. Anyways people, take the challenge to spice up your food four times and melt those taste buds. Try this place out and Carpe Diem with your taste buds.

My hubby and I tried this place based on other Unilocal reviews. So it started off a bit rough… it took several minutes for someone to come and seat us, which we weren’t crazy about. The restaurant was very clean(100 health inspection score) and modern. They have a very extensive menu with a ton of great options at very reasonable prices. We ordered the spicy basil chicken and honey sesame chicken and a couple of appetizers. We were not ATALL disappointed! The food came out quickly and was hot and fresh. The portion sizes were huge and the food was presented very nicely. We will definitely be regulars! Only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was the service. Not bad but it could be improved. The food more than made up for it!

I’m so glad they opened a phở place close to my house! I decided to try this place out. My dad and I had dinner here on Valentine’s Day :) They had their grand opening here. Because it’s new everything is so clean! I love it! They have booths on one side of the place and individual tables all around. They also have a bar. It kinda looks like a sushi bar… But it was empty. They also have TV’s playing sports. My dad and I ordered Shrimp & pork spring rolls. It came in 2 pieces that was about $ 3 and some change. We also ordered phở. He got a small combination phở and I ordered a small rare steak phở. It came with the usual steamed beans, cilantro, lime, basil, and jalapeños. It didn’t take too long for the food to come out. For a small… It looked pretty big! It looked like a medium actually. They give pretty big portions! And lots of meat. They’re not stingy with the amount– which is really nice. My dad and I were struggling to finish it. We were really full at the end. For the small was about $ 8. I think that’s how much phở is around nowadays. They all raised their prices. I was a little disappointed because it wasn’t as authentic as I wished it was. The phở and the soup tastes just like Saigon Café’s… I don’t really like the taste of their soup. It was the exactly replica… Otherwise I really enjoyed the food and the amount that was given. Our server was a lady and she was very sweet and attentive. Our bill with two small phở and spring rolls came for about $ 21 and some change. I think that’s reasonable. I just wished their phở was more authentic. They don’t have a lot on the menu as I thought they would. And they wings… Which was really odd. Also on the back of the menu they kinda have like a Boiling Crab kinda thing going on with the whole Cajun seafood???

Not bad! Friends and I stopped into Green Basil on a Friday evening and were skeptical at first, because the restaurant was fairly empty. When we took our seats in the booth, we all commented on how big they were. You can easily fit 4 people per side. I ordered the Green Curry with Chicken, which came with a salad, for just over $ 9. There was nothing special about the salad, topped with a ginger dressing, but I have to say, the salad bowl was pretty fancy(pics below). The Green Curry was pretty tasty. The curry itself was slightly creamy, slightly spicy with strips of white chicken breast that were tender along with green/red peppers, onions and your choice of fried or steamed rice(I got fried). The sample sizes of the dishes are good for their price, as one friend and I mentioned that the medium phở was slightly pricey, until they bought out the monstrous medium bowl Customer service was just fine, sometimes a little over eager, as about 4 people stopped by to ask how the food was, but i’d rather they be more present than absent. Green Basil has been open for about 3 weeks now, located in the Horizon Village Shopping center near Movie Tavern, so you’ll never have an issue with parking or getting in/out of the area. I like Green Basil, and hope they stick around. Please check them out if you’re in the area.

This Vietnamese restaurant is new on the block but you would never know it! The service is impeccable, the dishes are beautifully plated, the ambience is elegant, and the food is delish! They also have dishes you would expect to see in a Thai or Chinese joint, like sesame chicken or spicy basil chicken. These taste similar but not the same exactly. Still delish though! My oldest daughter had chicken phở. My youngest child was less interested in being adventurous and opted for thai chicken fried rice. They both loved their meals! The booths are high and private. The lighting is dim, but not TOO dim. There is a separator wall between the booths and tables which combined with the high booth walls creates an intimate feeling. I would recommend this place for a date or family dinner.

I drove by this place a few months ago because I saw the sign but it wasn’t open(yet) at the time; I was wondering if it was a place that had closed down or if it was going to open soon. I saw that it was finally open so I decided to drop by for dinner. I was warmly greeted and seated in a huge booth that could probably fit 6 – 8 people. When you first walk in to the restaurant, the cashier is to the right by the door, there is a bar on the right side, and the left side is filled with tables and booths. The waiter was very sweet: he and another waitress served me and they took my orders quickly and brought out my food quickly. The waiter was friendly and he even asked me to help promote their restaurant since it was new and empty(it really was!). Their menu seemed to be a mixture of Vietnamese and Thai food, which isn’t uncommon. I decided to order the combination phở(#16) and I also ordered fresh spring rolls. The phở was good and the spring rolls were also good but they’re not the absolute best thing I’ve ever had in my entire life. I found a tiny piece of very brown cilantro among the green ones. I didn’t make a big deal out of it, just tossed it on a napkin, but I do hope that they will check their condiments a little more carefully. I would definitely go back and try their other dishes and give them more chances since the restaurant is new in the area. I hope to see them do well in the business!

If you are looking for a Vietnamese restautant with great service and food with a modern décor, this is the place to go. The service alone gets 5 stars. Now for the cherry on top. The spring rolls are the best I have ever had and the pan fried noodles were amazing. Everything tasted very clean and flavorful. On top of the more than reasonable pricing, this is my new go to place for Vietnamese food. I would highly recommend this place if you are in the area.
