Classic LBI restaurant. Long known for one of(the?) best breakfasts on the island, the«new» owner Mike has expanded to not only lunch but dinner now as well. We’ve had dinner there several times over the past couple of months, and each time was awesome. Very creative menu and very reasonably priced. Also BYOB helps!!! Check it out.

Great service and lovely people work here. We came by after a day at the beach and we were really hungry. We thought our food would take long as usual of these places but wow did they bring our food in fast. I’d say less than 15 minutes after we ordered we had already finished our app and gotten our meal. Will definitely come back when we’re in the area again.

This restaurant couldn’t be brighter, sweeter, more evocative of simple goodness. Three dishes stood out: ginger salmon, fish & chips, and the local scallops. Remarkably well prepared and presented. Perfectly seasoned and delicious. A gem of a place.

The Blackened Chicken Alfredo was very good… starter of Super Mushroomy Mushroom Rice soup… some hot Earl Gray tea… and finish with a slice of rich Crem Brule Cheesecake… For $ 15 an amazing meal deal… My wife said the Chicken Rice Bowl was great too… and her Chocolate Chocolate cake looked great. Clean tables and silver… and BYO… It was a not too busy Tue night but our server was very nice and considerate… for such needy customers as us I didn’t check the bathrooms out so can’t speak to them… There were no linen tablecloths or roaming violinists and wouldn’t rate 2 stars if it claimed to be a fine dining establishment, but for a place called Walleys, it was simply awesome that weekday in May!

Wally’s is a new hang out in Surf City NJ which was converted from the old Wally Mitchell’s. First thing you notice is the change in décor which received a complete overhaul for the better. The other great thing about Wallys is they are open all year round for Breakfast, lunch and dinner. We have now had all three meals and I can say the all exceeded our expectations. Most recently we had dinner on Saturday night the special of the restaurant is for 14.95 you get your entrée, soup or salad, drink and desert. We had the Ginger Crusted Salmon and the vegetarian rice bowl which had some veggies, rice and a soy protein. Both were awesome We will be regulars.

After living and going to long beach island for my whole life somehow I never noticed wallys. When they added a new sign that popped I thought it was a new place so we stopped in. To my surprise the waitress who was very kind told me the place had been around for years. It was March but the fact that no one was there on a Saturday morning was strange to me. I am somewhat goofy and enjoy diet soda with my breakfast. The fountain so I was given was flat. I asked for another thinking that the lines weren’t cold yet or maybe the co2 hadn’t kicked in all the way. The second one was still flat but I just decided hey, whatever, it’s cool. We ordered French toast and a country Benedict as per the waitresses recommendation. My wife ordered her French toast and it looked ok. My Benedict on the other hand was 100% inedible. The hollandaise was separating and the poached eggs were the consistency of hard boiled eggs. They were also somehow filled with Luke warm water as if they either sat in the pot too long or were just sitting in the water and being reheated. For the first time in my life on LBI I actually left a restaurant. I offered to pay for whatever she wanted but I could not stomach what was given to me. Bottom line stick to what you know I guess. We went across the street to scojos and it was the same delicious consistent good as always.

It was a great little breakfast place before, and there new dinner menu definitely doesn’t disappoint. The food is delicious and the staff is super friendly! The décor is cute too. Byob but let’s be real you save money that way. The veggie Mac and cheese is the bomb. The crème brûlée cheesecake is amazing too, and my favorite breakfast item is the eggs Benedict. It’s so good! The French toast is great too. However, I wish they served their food on smaller plates. Sounds weird but I think it would look better!

It has been a while since I last had my breakfast at Wally’s, the former Wally’s Mitchell’s. Usually after surfing the early mornings we went to The old Wally’s. It was a bit outdated and a bit run down, but you could not beat the breakfast. Today with the new owners and a new menu, I feel I am back. Whats new is the restaurant went through a complete upgrade. It is clean, bright and friendly. We were greeted by a young lad who seated us. Our waitress who I must say was not only pleasant, she was quite beautiful with her long black hair and a smile that would brighten any dismal day. If you think of a surfer girl, she is that girl. We had the Grumpy Monkey coffee which was strong and bountiful in the aroma and strength. If this stuff does not wake you up, you are dead, hell it might wake the dead. It was great! As always I order my 2-eggs over easy, home fries, and scrapple. They did have a remarkable bread choice from white to pumper-nickle. I chose the marble Rye. My wife ordered scrambled, with wheat toast and a glass of V-8. After a short wait my breakfast was brought to the table by that beautiful waitress. The food was presented well and hot on very nice flatware. More coffee and water, and we were let alone to enjoy the eats. The only thing I can say was the delicious home fries were a bit sparse. Welcome Back Wally’s. Visited November 2015

What a great brunch, breakfast place. Light, clean, 2 page breakfast menu. Love it! Came back for second breakfast after trying another place.

BEST breakfast spot in LBI. This place is a great place to sit and grab a bite before starting your beach day! If there is a wait(usually no longer then 15 min) there is a strip of stores to look around at right up the block while you wait.

Took our grandkids for breakfast — service was very slow(many open tables) — kids meals did not fill them up, had to order extra meals. adult portions were small. Food was good, portion not worth the price

Wally’s is a solid breakfast/brunch place for sunny LBI mornings. We went twice in one weekend, because it was right next to our hotel and our mornings would’ve been sad, rushed, and foodless otherwise. True, the food itself is just average — slightly overcooked omelettes, overcooked home fries, a corned beef hash that was perplexingly Italian(with tomato and parsley??). The breakfast burrito is small and cold and they seemed to just sprinkle the inside with unmelted«Mexican blend» shredded cheese. The poached egg dishes are the best thing — drenched in hollandaise, exactly what you want a benedict plate to be. But be forewarned that the«salmon benedict» is just cooked salmon, not smoked salmon. The bright, clean ambiance makes up for any missteps in the food. The space is a modern version of an average diner, with a counter, extremely friendly servers, and all. Wally’s is apparently very popular, packed and bustling even at 9am, but we never had to wait for a seat.

New owners** prices have sky-rocketed on the menus and the quality of food has gone down as well. Always loved Wally Mitchell’s but under the new ownership it’s unfortunately no longer the breakfast spot my wife and I loved.

I am always happy to see a good place get even better, and we were pleasantly surprised by the«new» Wally Mitchell’s. As the manager note states, the place was recently renovated and seems to be under new management. Clearly, the place has a new vibrancy that wasn’t present before: servers are no longer grumpy, and have been replaced by energetic young students. The menu is more contemporary, and the coffee is better! Oh, and they take credit cards now… Some truisms still hold: you cannot make reservations(but let’s be honest, that’s not something you’d really do for breakfast), and the wait for a table might be long. To the new owners’ credit, they renovated the side yard, and had games(hopscotch, cornhole) and chalk boards to keep the kids’ attention. The service was still slow, but I’m not sure this was the fault of the servers – perhaps the kitchen was on the slow side when we ate there. The interior appears largely similar in layout, but has been updated, and feels newer. Food – considerably greater range to the menu than the older Wallys: one of our party had an Acai berry bowl, which was excellent, along with Greek yogurt. Another had an egg white frittata, while a third had a classic omelette. All were outstanding. French toast was good – very passable – as were the pancakes. The orange juice was a little thin, but again, that’s nitpicky. I’m glad to see such a big improvement, and was happy to add a star on my review. I’ll be back next year.

By far the best place to have breakfast! Lunch is also very good. But the coffee. It is the best I’ve ever had! The entire staff is very professional and super friendly. As a local, I have eaten here at least 25 times. Everything is delicious.

The service was excellent and my sons Reese’s peanut butter pancakes were good. My daughter enjoyed her waffles. I’m not so sure I’d be back though I asked for an egg white omelet with pepper jack cheese and got a regular omelet.(I don’t send food back ever). My home fries & bacon were really over cooked. It’s not hard to mess up pancakes and waffles.

They recently renovated. The outside is still a time machine but inside is beautiful now. And the food is always delicious. Long time Ship Bottom vacationer and never had a complaint. Portions are great for price and everything is fresh, even in the off-peak season. Wish it were bigger, and that the bagels were a little more NY-style but other than that, great local diner. Highly recommend for breakfast and lunch.

Just got back from some down time with the family in LBI, and were lucky enough to find Wally’s early on. We visited almost daily for either breakfast or lunch and would be going back today if I didn’t have to drag my butt back to Chicago. Even my(usually picky) kids raved about the French toast! Fantastic staff, clean and comfy surroundings, and great grub made this our favorite haunt — Go!

Fantastic! Great food and coffee. My sister and I have eaten there three times. Each meal was consistently excellent. You will not be disappointed. We’ve had French toast, omelettes, eggs and sausage, and their great coffee.

Just had breakfast here on a crowded rainy July 4th late morning with 2 hungry children after being showing up at three other popular spots and being told of long waits to be seated. Here we were seated IMMEDIATELY, which is awesome when you have small children. The place was very busy, they took our order relatively quickly, had to wait a little bit for the food, but not too bad. The coffee is sub par, but the food is good. I had the Beach Benny. Supermodelgirlfriend had the Brocolli Light Omelet & Wild Child had the Chocolate Chip Silver Dollar Pancakes with a side of bacon. All were satisfied. Good food, good service, fast seating on a crowded & rainy July 4th morning on LBI. Who could ask for more?
