I am surprised that the first reviews for this MediSpa are so negative. I have always had a pleasant experience there, and with remarkable results. Lynda has worked on my highly reactive skin(I have rosacea), utilizing a state-of-the art Hydrafacial machine; I leave with a glowing, dewy complexion. I have also had a handful of hair removal sessions performed by Lynda — both electrolysis as well as laser hair removal — and I don’t believe that there is a more competent practitioner out there. I have had about thirty professional hair reduction sessions in my lifetime, including waxing. I cannot speak specifically about the waxing experience at Rock Creek MediSpa, but I do think that it’s a bit odd to come to a MEDICAL spa for a wax job. It’s a bit like ordering a hot dog at a steakhouse. One may as well go to a wax studio where all that the estheticians do is wax away. Rock Creek is THE place to go for laser hair removal/reduction. It is also THE place to go for Reflexology! Lynda’s work on my hands and feet has been blissful. Yes, blissful, plus a radiant face. What more could you really want in a spa experience?

I also had a groupon for this location however I had a positive experience. The appointment was on time, the location was clean and well organized. The owner was very kind and accommodating when I needed to change appointment times. The waxing was quick and professional!

I went to get a wax from this establishment, waited 15 mins in an empty waiting room, started to leave when someone finally yelled at me when I got to my car. She told me she was finishing up and would be right with me. I filled out the paper work as she informed that I was not on her books(this is after confirming my appointment that morning), but she was going to squeeze me in. The other client showed up, who she helped first, then showed me to a room with a dirty sheet on the mat, and the rest of the room and equipment was less than sanitary from the looks of it. I waited another 10 mins so we are now 30 mins past the appointment time. I could not wait any longer so I found her with the other client, told her I was going to have to leave, and had no intention of ever coming back due to my experience so far. I had my paperwork in hand as it had my personal information on it and I wanted nothing to do with this place as I witnessed the five minute attempt of coaxing the buying of a product from the client before me. She told me I was being ridiculous, my bikini wax would only take ten minutes. I told her if that was how the wax would go, I would absolutely not be receiving the service as a quality wax does not take ten minutes. She then told me that this appointment was reserved for me and I had taken up a 45 min chunk of her time and I was not leaving without paying. How does that make sense? I am not even on the books, my wax will only take ten minutes, but I had wasted 45 mins of HER time? I had written the Groupon information on the release she had me fill out, and honestly I couldn’t care less about that, just wanted my personal information out of her hands. She refused to give me my paperwork, so I called the Superior Police. Just as the other commenter’s have stated, this place is a sham and there is absolutely no reason a waxing appointment should end with the police getting involved. I hope this place is shut down.

1) waxing=BAD, 2) price=YOU’VEGOTTOBEKIDDING! The owner did a little more than half-legs which included some under my butt and back of my legs(and I have normal legs with easy to remove hair). She did not do toes, missed a lot of my back legs, did little on the knees and didn’t even have tweezers to get extra ones, let alone ingrowns. She didn’t even have oil to clean off the wax and when I asked for it, she put some powder on that she said she didn’t like the smell(why would she have that?). I was nice about it because I had purchased a Groupon that was for a bikini, and when I called before and asked if we could use the $ 65 on my legs, she said yes. I told her I saw the prices and thought we could pull something off. I should have clarified everything before hand, but she seemed on board with me. When I gave her it to redeem after the(bad) wax she tried to charge me extra because the total was $ 90. She said that she CHARGEDPERLEG. Huh? $ 45 for one half-leg?! I told her that I have never seen that on price lists(including lists that only write leg with no «s») and she said no one asks because they pay the total $ 90(mind you, for 2 half-legs). The prices say a half leg ranges from $ 45-$ 65, so I thought that would be the deal. After telling her I thought that was ridiculous, she changed the price to $ 85. Of course I would have payed extra for the extra wax on my legs(mind you she didn’t wax the front upper legs, and did poorly on the back) and I would tip off the total, not the Groupon discount. Who gets only ONE leg waxed?! I still tipped her and realized that the total after tip, my Groupon and the extra was $ 65. I could have gone to Waxing in the City(which isn’t that great, but better) at full leg for a max of $ 37. My really great waxer in Denver is $ 35. Yeah, I am VERY disappointed. The owner will probably write on this and I am not sure what she will say, and may say she was nice to me because of the Groupon change, but I wrote all the facts, and stated opinions. I can’t imagine what she would write that would make me(or you) feel differently. To make it simple, you can get a better wax at a much better price.

Upon recommendation for a microdermabrasion from my dermatologist, I purchased a Groupon for this procedure at Rock Creek Medi Spa. This was my first visit and I scheduled with Lynda. I was really excited to spend some time unwinding at the spa. Unfortunately, my experience was horrible. Lynda treated me with such blatant cruelty and disrespect that I left the spa in a very emotional and vulnerable state. Due to my use of a Groupon, I also left without receiving a typical microdermabrasion treatment; I had not saved a dime, only received half of the expected treatment. I would have rather purchased a microdermabrasion at full price than experience the type of poor service and abuse I received from Lynda. If I could give Rock Creek Medi Spa less than a one star rating, I would. *** Lynda, the information you provided about me is inaccurate. You have me confused with another client because this was my first visit, I did not spend $ 200.00 on product, I was not rude, and there were no other clients in the spa because I was the last client of the day. Also, I would have never asked for an ‘aggressive treatment’ because I have sensitive skin, this was my first microdermabrasion, and I had recently been through a difficult surgery. Every word was the truth and I am sorry if it is not what you want to hear. In your defense, I think you may have been exhausted from the influx of new clients brought on from the Groupon; however, I was in tears for days regarding your cruel comments about my use of a certain prescription medication. Directly after my procedure, I followed up with my with my dermatologist and she confirmed that every claim you made was incorrect. I expected an apology from you, not a retaliation. However, it goes to show that my original claim is correct, you are extremely unprofessional.

My daughter(13) and I have been seeing Lynda, first for her treatment of my daughter’s acne and«bacne». My daughter has been meticulous about her skin care but could not clear up the problem on her back and chest. We had been using Proactiv — John educated us on the cancer agents in those products. I did internet research and found that was in fact true!!! With Lynda’s microdermabrasion, anti-bacterial masks, the magic blue light and chemical peels, in three treatments my daughter is finally able to see the light on these infections! Lynda also offers mineral makeups and teaches us how to apply them! While my daughter has her treatments, Lynda has had me sit there and wax my hands, afterwards doing a hand massage(for free) while my daughter relaxes under the mask and light. THANKYOU Lynda and John!!! Lynda’s facial treatments(microdermabrasions, rehydration masks, etc.) has make me feel so regenerated! I am going to be 53 in December and just the other day someone guessed me to be «early 40’s». I love that they treat males and females of all ages, offer natural, skin, hair, facecare, makeup(more). It’s my one stop shopping for beauty, relaxation and even friendship! Deb Liked: Disliked:
