What a cool place! It’s warm and inviting with a charming, rustic-modern feel. The owners, James & Sandy are so so so kind! The sangria is DABOMB and their selection of craft beers isn’t half bad either. You should go check it out.

This cute coffee shop down south has great coffee! I’m so happy south Austin finally got a coffee shop that people will love! They also serve beer and select food items.

This is my favorite coffee shop in town. It’s strikes the perfect balance of being clean and well appointed with a coffee shop vibe. You know the vibe, that feeling that you might just have an intense conversation about the finer points of the early avant-garde literary magazines(Angry Penguins ftw) or your favorite IDE for JavaScript development(WebStorm ftw) Everyone is friendly, the coffee is great and the beer list thoroughly vetted. Some extra points for my fellow remote workers and late night beer/coffee coders. The wifi is very consistent and the lighting is perfect. Not too dark and no garish fluorescent. The seating is suitable for a long haul session and they have a good size area if you need to bring in the boys for a full staff meeting aka beer-meetings.

I love this coffee house, it’s one of my favorites in Austin. I frequently find myself working & sipping coffee here. Great atmosphere & plenty of space. Try the peppermint mocha(seasonal)! It’s amazing. They always have a great selection of pastries as well, I haven’t tried any — but they all look fabulous!

Awesome ambiance and really friendly staff. The location is not super convenient to me, if it was, I would be there much more often. I had a bit too much caffeine so opted for a delicious apple cider kombucha. Looking forward to going back and trying the coffee. They had some games and seems like it’s kid friendly-ish!

My husband and I work remote and are always in search of a cool yet truly workable space. He found this coffee pub on Unilocal and tried it out and LOVEDIT! A café that sells coffee AND alcohol?! Get outta here! Ambiance(5 stars): Very nice! There is a nicely decorated inside with ample tables to work or even chat from. There are also 3 long picnic tables right outside if you want to enjoy this nice fall weather in Austin(until the summer comes again). Coffee(5 stars): We got the nitro brewed iced coffee. It was so smooth and so good. Service(5 stars): There was a barista helping me there. She was attentive, friendly, and easy to talk to! She made the whole experience for me. Thanks, guys!

Fast service with some great drinks! Great stop for me traveling to work. Right off the access road, a quick way to get great coffee then keep moving. Great atmosphere for those that stay! I love the rewards plan!

Lovely friendly and really good baristas. Seriously, ML wanted to take the guy that waited on her home. Fantastic Cappuccinos & Lattes that stay hot even after you find your table and sit down! Dynamite coffee cake. Dog friendly patio. Easy to get in and out of their large parking lot And a great selection of beers including a tasty Milk Stout. It can get a bit loud outside since it’s close to 290 but not enough to hamper conversation on the patio. What’s not to love???

I really love this place, but the way the baristas are insanely loud talking to each other is really really distracting and annoying. Do they not notice that it’s midday on a weekday and almost everyone in here is working? It’s almost disrespectful of the patrons.

Love this place. It’s a perfect coffee shop to read a book, get some work done, or chat with a friend. I appreciate spaces where all of the above are appropriate at once. +Sweet and kind baristas +Cuvée nitro cold brew on tap +Gorgeous handcrafted wood furniture(although insanely heavy for a petite girl like me to move) +Friendly patio for humans and their dogs(no outlets outside) +Fun community events every now and then If Stouthaus Pub was located closer to me like in the central eastside, I’d be there everyday. Check it out, folks.

I heart this coffee house in south Austin. We’ve needed you for a while. Both the coffee and pastries are delish. It’s the perfect wake me up location. It’s great to work remote or have a business meeting. The ambiance is crazy cute. I love their whole industrial vibe they have going on. Try it!

Coffee and beer? What’s not to love?! Worth mentioning I have only been here with the intent to chill and have coffee; I’ve not truly explored this spot as a pub. Basic coffee menu. Lattes and hot chocolate were excellent. Good selection of booze, maybe 15 beers on tap and often something house-made like Sangria. They have some snack options as I understand but I always grab a pastry next door at St. Philips. Very clean, modern and simple. As one reviewer said it might lack that cozy beat-up-couch kind of vibe, but I’m ok with that. After all, it’s a pub too. There is one small love seat and two comfy chairs, otherwise its all regular chair/table/barstool seating. Last time I went, I wasn’t a huge fan of the big screen TV above the bar but again, it’s a bar. Since I was there drinking coffee and reading I would have preferred music(and the All Star game on mute), but alas. Plenty of parking, more than is needed for a relatively small place. I suspect this can get pretty crowded, so I try to go at off times. When I’ve been there it’s been way emptier than the pictures on the website, and I’m happy about that. Open early, open late = awesome. (Note to Stouthaus — I noticed last time people getting soft serve cones next door — you and St. Philips both should offer some kind of coffee float ;-)

This is one of my favorite places to hang out in Austin. They have everything you need here. Beer, wine, good coffee, and you can order food and dessert from St. Philip next door and they will bring it over to you. They serve cold brew coffee, so that alone deserves 5 stars. I highly recommend this place, and I try to visit at least once a week!

What a huge disappointment. Two coffees and two breakfast tacos for about $ 10. Tacos were tiny and bland and left us hungry for more. The coffee was bitter and no amount of creamer or sugar helped. We have ended getting a croissant with jam to help top off an already blah meal. Wasted calories all around and we’ll still need to stop off for a for a real meal. One positive– décor was cute with cartoons being projected on the wall behind the bar. Wasted potential. Such a shame.

We were outdoors at the Toney Burger Centre on a below freezing, blustery winter’s day for a high school soccer game. Brrrrrrrrrr with a double capitol B. At half time, even with four layers of clothing plus double layer of gloves, I am a frozen popsicle. Stadium concessions are closed. Quick, where is the nearest place for hot bevvies? Stouthaus to the rescue. It’s right next door. With just one large stadium parking lot to overcome, it’s as close as you can get. We walk into a clean, light-filled space. I spot a comfy couch and sink into it immediately. The modern, industrial look does not look warm and inviting, but it sure is a heck of a lot warmer than being outside. Mellow music and a quiet atmosphere(even with every table almost occupied) almost lulls me to sleep. After a few minutes, the $ 3.50 cappuccino is ready. It is hot and very good. Blissssssss. We are ready to go outside and face winter again.

Two things that make a coffee joint in Austin hipster: 1. Brew Cuvée coffee 2. Serve Taco Deli tacos Stouthaus has both of these requirements. Done. All jokes aside(although I was serious), their nitro iced is very good. The location in south Austin makes it very preferable compared to other places. Parking is abundant and the actual café isn’t crammed at all. They also have a projected tv in the wall which makes it useful if you’re really bored. Yay.

I’ve noticed a trend of combining coffee house and bar. Stouthaus does a good job of it. They have done a good job with the design of the interior. It exudes industrial cool which compliments the newly redesigned exterior. The baristas are doing an excellent job of crafting well made coffee using beans from Cuvee. The bartenders are pouring a great selection of some of the best craft brews in Austin. Whether you are looking to get some work done or hang with some friends, I think Stouthaus has you covered.

Making espresso requires skill, but a great coffee shop must have great drip as well. In fact, the quality of a coffee shop can often be more apparent in their drip. Today I tried their Colombia drip. And I have to say, wow. I am usually a fan of Peet’s coffee whenever I am on the west coast, because they produce rich, bold coffee. But sometimes it is just too strong. The drip at Stouthaus had the right balance of being flavorful and strong without being too strong. It’s a coffee-lover’s drip-brewed coffee. I am writing this review as I am savoring every sip back at worth. It’s made this a better morning.

Cuvée is to Austin what Stumptown is to Portland. All it takes is the simple phrase, «they brew Cuvée» and DONE. You want to go there. Enter Stouthaus Coffee Pub. A Cuvée brewing, cubano pressing, beer serving must go-to place with Antonelli’s cheese. If that’s not enough, it’s right next to Uchi’s St. Philip pizzeria and bake shop. It has modern décor, is great for groups or working solo, and is certainly a welcome addition to Sunset Valley. And it’s definitely an understatement to say it’s a huge step up from the old Cannoli Joe’s! I went for an iced latte with almond milk(yes!), which was beautifully served in a glass of crushed ice with the milk falling on top of the espresso in an ombré tone. Mid-day coffee fix satisfied. As another Unilocaler mentioned, the chairs are ridiculously heavy. You may have to resort to crawling into them rather than moving them or just choose a comfy couch or rustic wooden bench. It’s totally worth the exertion either way to settle in for a relaxing morning/afternoon surrounded by the aroma of espresso. I’m so thankful for a great coffee shop in Sunset Valley.

Slammtisch means community table… or something like that… the concept being that people from the community will come and commune together on a mutual table. That’s not only the idea of Stouthaus, but it’s also written on the wall. Stouthaus is everything that you would want in a modern combo bar/coffee shop minus the pretentious vibe that one would assume to come with it. The staff are awesome and welcoming… but don’t confuse the owner for the picture on the logos… even though it looks like him, he humbly swears it’s not. Stouthaus built it’s community up from the farmers market and made it to the point that they needed to open this gorgeous brick and mortar. It’s far fancier than a stand at and eons more comfortable. Hang out on the couches, sit at the communal table, or chill at the bar… all are kindof a win. My usual iced americano was perfect and hit the spot… but if I wanted to, there were enough beers, wine and even kombucha on tap to appease anyone’ pallet. For those who think Radio coffee is a bit too crowded, don’t pass go, don’t collect $ 200, head straight to Stouthaus. If you’re in the Sunset Valley area, there’s no reason… or better coffee shop to go to than here. And if you choose a chain like the Coffee Bean and Tea up the road, shame on you. Stouthaus has a video projector on their wall set up to show video and hve movie nights eventually… but don’t wait up for tv… sitting around staring at screens isn’t the point of this place… people are… so come here and be social… don’t keep to yourself… like I am doing right no by writing this review.
