I dont understand whats the hype about this place. We went on a weekday for lunch, expect us there were only 3 people inside until it started getting crowded. Our food took 1.5 hours to come(not kidding) we checked. We ordered: 1) Samosa Chaat — very average, had far better one in restaurants around 2) Mix veg — It was super super oily, none of us ate it after the first bite 3) Okra — It was again super oily, I could see the chef preparing it in the kitchen and they used frozen bhendi(I checked out this place immediately after watching this) Never going back. after waiting for 1.5 hours I atleast expected some better tasting food rather that super oily below average tasting food.

Satkar makes me happy. Definitely fits the definition of a hole in the wall. This place has about 8 tables, and a bustling kitchen. The menu has a lot of options beyond your average Indian place on the Peninsula, and the prices(many things under 10), and portions are ideal. Each entrée also comes with rice or naan. My favorites so far: 1. Samosas 2. Okra Masala(wow!) 3. Fish Pakora 4. Shaheer Masala 5. Palak Panner 6. Chole Batura 7. Mango Lassi On weekends you’ll probably have to deal with a little bit of a wait, but I really appreciated that they let us put in our order beforehand, so by the time we were seated the food came out pretty quickly.

This is some of the best Indian food I have had in the Bay area. The curries are flavorful and not all curries are the same — they actually seem to know what they are doing. Paneer seems fresh and the naan/roti are soft. Its a small place and almost always full. Be ready to wait… or just do take out. Go for it… you can’t go wrong.

Awesome seekh kabab sizzler and Karhai paneer. Dumpling wasn’t good; its fried. Good chai. Value for money and tasty food

I’m a vegetarian, and this place is great. Some of the best naan I’ve ever had, and the rest of the vegetarian menu is amazing too!

Found this place to be exceptional. Great mix of spices, delicious and greater customer care. The food was prepared with care. Although they were busy the treated each customer with respect and a smile. Would gladly recommend and go again… even over Amber.

I don’t know much about chaat but this place was fast, good, small, and accommodating. I’m allergic to nuts which end up in a lot of indian food, so I warned the server and she was extremely helpful in recommending options for us — Everything came out within 5 – 10 minutes, and nothing was greasy. Would recommend for takeout or a quick snack.

This is our favourite TOGO place. We never eat in because the place is tiny. Excellent food PERIOD! Their naan’s are super soft and fluffy. All the gravies are super authentic. A must try if you have not been there.

These people take hell lot of time to serve. Food is below par. Most of items in the menu will not be available.

Excellent food, the price was just fine. I especially enjoyed the vegetable pakora and kabuli naan(reminded me of marzipan). I don’t think I’d get the vindaloo again… it was a bit bland. Spice levels: mild means no heat, medium was just fine for me but a bit hot for the kids… we didn’t risk trying the hot level.

I tried this place because my school had catered food from here and it was delicious, so I was expecting great food… and they did not disappoint! We ordered the vegetable wrap, aloo methi katti roll, palak paneer katti roll, and chole bature. Everything was really good and my only complaint was that it was too small and got pretty crowded because there were a lot of people coming to pick up food. However, I would definitely go again!

This place is amazing. I love Indian food– non spicy: D and I am so happy I found this place. I have been getting dinners there the past three days in a row. Absolutely love it. I cannot say anything about the place itself since I have gotten delivery, but the food is always delicious and fresh.

This small quality Punjab restaurant is well worth the effort it takes to find though BevMo is right next door. Everything I’ve tried here was good but the vegetable samosa are the best I’ve found in this area and I eat out a lot. Almost hate to give it five stars as I predict they are going to become a lot more popular. Really a lot more like eating in a good friend’s home than a restaurant experience. Food is cooked here with love, it is not just a job. Staff are exceptionally friendly as well. Go on, treat yourself! You will not be sorry! I am now working my way through their entire menu. See you there!

Oh? What’s this? My first review of an Indian joint? Truly cause for celebration by bathing thyself in their absolutely delicious palak paneer. I could eat it all day and would gladly suffer the consequences later. Their chicken tikka masala was also delicious. We got medium spice on that one, which really wasn’t spicy at all and I have the capsaicin tolerance of an infant. The lamb cooked in tandoor didn’t have that super lamb-y taste or smell that generally turns me away from such delights; unfortunately I had eaten so much palak paneer by the time it came out that the self-loathing was starting to set in. One of the things I liked best was that you have the option of ordering either a smaller(8 oz) or larger portion(16 oz) – three side orders of each was enough for two. As far as ambience goes, there isn’t any. The menu for dining out hangs on the wall and it’s bright green, there’s a small, ancient TV playing some Bollywood videos, so needless to say if you’re looking for a place to take a date, it’s probably best not to come here unless you have the credit score of a homeless ghost. BUT if you’re looking to impress with some amazing food, this is your spot!

Authentic and yummy vegetarian food in the neighborhood. Very good quality sabzis(paneer especially which is rare). I would call this place a hidden gem. I dint like the chai. It was too watery and had a weird taste to it. I am guessing it’s a style I am not used to drinking before. I would go back again and again for sure!

Wow. What a great find. My husband and I stumbled upon this place and the service was great and the food delicious. I ordered the chicken korma entrée and it was a massive amount of food with enough leftovers for the next day! Win win!

Flavors and service were great, but what’s the deal with no hint of spice at all in medium category dishes??? I really must look so white that they were afraid I’d either keel over dead or enter litigation at any taste of it. Otherwise, I really didn’t have a single food related letdown in an evening championed by the palak paneer and chicken tikka masala. Oh, and those samosas, oh yes. The primary letdown was an unusually long wait of about 45 minutes for a reasonably small order for four. That’s just stupid. By the way, the bathroom is oddly situated through the kitchen. Clearly this joint is not really well suited for an in-dining experience. Just order ahead and carry out, folks.
