First visit to this place… leaving with a satiated feeling. Food is home cooked style, meaning less oil more flavor. The setup is very straight forth. You take a seat and they bring you the day’s planned menu in a huge plate with many bowls. Food is served in moderate quantities and you can always ask for seconds. Less food wasted that way. So home cooked meal with none of the fuss. Why not five stars? Well, it was good but nothing knocked my socks off ;)

Review for weekend thali — dishes seemed authentic more on the greasy side though. Except for few dishes which stood out I would rate most options as average. Definitely not worth the the price point of $ 16.99+ tax + tips.

We came here on New Year’s Eve, this place is quite busy and understandably so. We picked tonight to come here the first time and obviously had to wait for a while. We finally got seated and the Thali was pretty good. I wouldn’t call it traditional Rajasthani or Gujarati but the food was quite good.

Very tasty food with lot of options of vegetables in a Thali. Nothing fancy but food tasted very good, loved the awesomely prepared poori which was very fluffy & low on oil. A tag expensive with 18 $ on weekends but if it tastes good it doesn’t matter.

Barely qualifies for a Rajasthani Thali. Daal tasted close to rasam and it took me a while to realize that the white thing I am eating was kadhi. There was saag+corn+Mushroom dish,. Really? in a Thali. There was one particular sabzi that I liked and kept asking but never got till the end. They started with something weird thing in the name of soup. It was some gravy with bhujiya on top. Kids Thali had paneer dish+ roti+ shrikhand. No dessert/Kheer. to be fair, when I pointed out that kids deserve better treatment, the server offered to give anything from normal Thali. Online menu looks big but they should specify that they have one of each iteam everyday. I was hoping to eat Vada Paav but it was not part of appetizer for that day. I would say its super expensive for a Thali. They don’t have enough staff or at least they were not eager to come out and serve on the day we went

I don’t understand the 3.5 overall review here! I went here for lunch yesterday and there was literally a line out the door of people waiting to be seated(all Indians who, I suppose, don’t bother to write reviews on Unilocal?). If you go during the weekday it’s only $ 11.99 + tax/tip for a super delicious and flavorful Gujarati vegetarian fare. I’ll admit that I wouldn’t have even known about this place if an Indian friend(from India) hadn’t introduced it to me, but I’ve gone back a couple times since then and it’s always a pleasant experience. The food’s not overly creamy like the typical Indian buffet food catered to American tastes. So you don’t wind up with that post-Indian-buffet lethargy after the meal, which is great! There’s some bollywood music playing quietly in the back of the restaurant, too, which is tasteful and not too loud or annoying. Interior décor is just fine by Indian restaurant standards, not too kitschy or eclectic. The service is also excellent. The wait staff are all very friendly and attentive, offering refills on your thali many times throughout the meal. Definitely recommend, though may not be worth it for the $ 16.99 weekend menu… Go on a weekday for the best experience.

1. 18 $ for veg thali is tad expensive unless its pure organic n hygenic. Which here, is not the case 2. food is tasty and no complaints there. 3. small place n mediocre in ambience. 4. good variety of food n quick n attentive service. would visit more often if the price suits the food. not worth the price, though gud fud.

Worst Indian restaurant in bay area!!! 19 dollars for one single tasteless Thali that is worse than starters and does not contain food even to fill a small child’s stomach. Don’t ever get fooled by their 8.99 dollars takeout tag that only applies to specific weekdays… They simply want to loot as much as they can from customers. If you want then for non veg please go to Himalayan kitchen, peacock, etc and for veg go to kwality sweets nd foods, sc, rajjot Sunnyvale. Advice to manager… Please learn some basic management skills, be courteous to customers, look around other Indian restaurants while setting up so high prices for your ridiculous looking mediocre food. Don’t simply loot every customer that comes along your way.

One of the best Thali I ever had in Bay Area and in USA so far. The bar is no high that If some other Thali claims to be better than this one, I don’t know what to expect in that. Must try for all Thali lovers. Best part, everything was freshly prepared. Some might complain that food service is slow, but that’s only because it’s freshly prepared and that might attribute to delay in serving.

Went for lunch as I had assumed this place does nice rajasthani food but no not really. Got khatta meetha panna(welcome drink) which was ok. Food arrived with a bit of delay but that’s ok as we got in really early and they were just opening up. Thali was presented beautifully and looked tempting. Out of 8 dishes only couple faired well, they weren’t bad but ok. Bhelpuri as an appetizer was served when I was almost half way through my meal. Tasted all right. Service– good and low key as expected. If you have been to other Thali Indian restaurant which has similar concept, you would definitely compare and contrast. The restaurant is a bit more roomier and nicely laid out in comparison to thali. Although most of the dishes in Thali tastes better and slightly less expensive. Bill came up to $ 42 with gratuity for two. So as much as I wanted to be excited I wasn’t and didn’t feel content. Sorry folks something is off so get tasting your competitors.

3 of us visited this place for lunch on a Saturday. This place lacks of everything from management to flavors in the food and not to mention hygiene. First of all, they have really poor management to handle the customers. There was nobody to note down names on the wait list. There is no waiting area so you have to wait outside in the sun or sit in your car. Once we were seated, it took forever for the food to arrive. Advice to the management– please visit other thali places nearby and get some management 101! Food was ok. Did not find any outstanding flavors on the dish except the welcome drink which tasted like mint /jaljeera but when enquired the server had no clue what’s in there Lol I would not go back.

One day out of the blue, our team decided to go have Guju thaili. Despite my better judgment, I agreed, as they invoked my honorary Guju title. I’m not sure who decided to try this place, perhaps for the better, because I’d give them disciplinary action for exhibiting poor judgement. The location is very convenient and the space is decent. We were seated promptly by the waiting staff and the stuffing started immediately. The variety was less(check out my Guju grammar) and everything was too salty or spicy. I remember seeing 3 subzees and perhaps 2 curries and daal. None of them would qualify as authentic Guju. The parathas were quite good and I guess I ate too much of that. By the way the Bhokla was bad too. Overall not the best dinning, service was very good though.

My hubby & self stopped by this restaurant after a friend recommended it. What I appreciate about this place is that the approach they adopt to run the business. They offer Gujarati based Thali with simple dishes, yet feel-good-home-type food menu. Food — We tried their dinner menu, had the pleasure of experiencing some delightful & yummy dishes. The Thali plate offered consists of a welcome drink, 4 to 5 veggie curry items, 2 sweets with pappad, appalam, channa masala chaat type, dhokla with green chutney as sides & chapati, puri, jeera rice(with added bel peppers) & mixed veggie khichdi(another rice variety) as main course. Items are unlimited and so you are assured to leave the restaurant with a satisfying and fulfilling meal. Service & Staff — We went on a Friday night and hence, the restaurant was heavily crowded. Despite it’s busy atmosphere, we were not made to wait longer and were given a perfect seat as requested by us(Initially, a different seating table was offered, but later changed upon our personal request). In general, food serving was very quick, staff seemed to be well attentive, responding & helpful. Ambience — I wouldn’t mind eating in a place with decent ambience, not a fine dining, as long as it satisfies the basic cleanliness standards. This restaurant holds good on the above factors. Price — Since it was a weekend dinner thali i. e Rajwadi’s Special Thali Weekends — Chef’s selection, it was slightly expensive costing $ 17 per person. It’s $ 11 per person on Weekdays. Worth paying for an unlimited and tummy full meal. Overall — I surely recommend this place. Hope to try their weekday thalis sometime soon !

Very disappointing. Hardly any dishes served for lunch and all of them were terribly bland. Dhokla(the steamed appetizer) was the worst I’ve had. The rice was dry and obviously difficult to consume. Not at all worth the $$. I’d rather go to good old Lovely(Sunnyvale) or Thali(Santa Clara) for a veg platter.

We came here on a Saturday night for my aunt’s birthday. We’re a big noisy gang with kids and I wanted to make sure we got a table, so I got a reservation and even though they don’t usually take reservations, since we’re a big group they did! We get there and were seated after 5 – 10 minutes(it’s a small place with a long line!). The best part was the ordering process: they count the number of people and get a thali for all. They have a small thali for the kids as well. A thali is basically like a buffet where we have a plate and tiny cups of curries and desserts. The food is unlimited, and we’re given two drinks(spicy buttermilk and rooafzah) and water. Seriously good food, definitely will be back for lunch!
