I am sorry but I have to give this salon one star based on the haircut I got from Ashley.
I had really long hair and just needed layers. We agreed on the length she would cut but somehow she ended up cutting a lot more. I think she is not acquainted with cutting long hair so she first cut it to a length that she was comfortable with and just layered it. I am usually able to get 4 layers in my hair but right now I just have 2. Would not go to her again.

It’s an absolute 5 stars place. I called to shop and Ashley was my appointer. Once I walked into salon my chair was ready. Place was pretty clean and stuffs were friendly. She cut my hair exactly what I expecting. Highly recommend this place and also price is really chip. Will come here again.

This was my first time at an hair salon since I moved to the US a year ago, I came here on a friend’s recommandation. I came prepared with a picture of my last haircut I did at my usual place, so no surprise /​I was very precise on what I wanted. First the comments were «why do you want to cut them (to just above shoulders) women should have long hair»… the feminist in me had to suppress answering this. I confimed that yes i wanted them cut and layered as the picture. So here goes the hair cut: shampoo + cut + brushing: 23 min total, in at 6:08 out by 6:31! Never had I been cut so quickly and carelessly. My haircut at home takes closer to an hour as I have a lot of hair and for layering they use cisors not razor blade (that damages the hair, which of course they tried to use at this salon). The cut itself was pretty uninteresting, its not awful but definitely NOT good and definitely NOT what I asked! The cut was quite shorter than what I asked (0.5−1inch shorter) like a bad 20s style bob, and in addition there was no layering! once finished he asked if ok, I said no please can you do some layering (to give style, break the bob). And HE REFUSED. plain refused. It felt like he botched a short ahircut on purpose to show me that women should have long hair! Or more likely that he just doesnt know how to cut and style hair shorter tahn shoulde lenght…
My haircut its bad plain short bob, boring and with no personnality, all my friends agree while its not badly cut its just not me and not ag all what I had asked. I’m usually pretty easy tonpelas and I always step out of the hairsalon feeling better about myslef, prettier. Not this time. Its been 10 days and every morning I hate what I see in the mirror, I really do, I still dont recognize myself.
The good thing is that its just a haircut, in 2 or 3 months my hair will be long enough to be corrected.
For sure at a different salon!

Fikret is daaa best!!! My hair got out of control and I finally decided to drive more than an hour! Never happened before!!! I am not a hair salon kinda girl so I have never drive more than 5 minutes to get my hair done. But this time I felt something different and decided to try him out. I have heard him from my friend who has been going there for more than 7 years now but I never knew he is that good!!! He knows what he is doing and listens you well! Strongly recommend him!

I have been coming here for a couple years to get my eyebrows done. I am extremely happy with Pinar’s work. I have naturally thick eyebrows and I never liked my eyebrow shape until she got her hands on them. My brows were a mess when I first came to Pinar and she was able to give me a whole new shape. She uses heated wax to do most of the epilating, then follows up with a tweezer for the few remaining hairs. She shapes eyebrows better than anyone else I’ve gone to. On top of her skills and friendly service, Pinar has very reasonable prices. I highly recommend her!

He is the best. I drive from the city almost two hours just for his talent. Well worthed! He is fast, talented, polite, very customer oriented. He listens customer’s voice and exceeds expectations. Highly recommended!

I had a hair cut with Pinar. I am new to the area and have been very anxious about finding a new hair dresser. I was having coffee next door one day and had some time to waste, so walked over to check if they have any availability. She was able to take me in same day, in a few hours.
She did a great job with the hair cut. She listened to what I wanted and suggested a few tips. She did not try to push any different style or color or other additional work. I even asked about coloring and she said my hair color looked great as is and I shouldn’t… Hair salons usually try to get you to do color. Anyway, the cut was amazing, the whole experience was very nice. Good price too. Found my new hair salon here, happy :)

I walked in on-​time for my appointment Fikrat looked at me without saying anything and carried on with a conversation with a friend. Finally another hair dresser acknowledged me and Fikrat paid attention to me. I came in for a standard haircut and he proceeded to tell me how horrible my hair was and that I must be destroying it someone. He went on and on how horrible my hair was and became meaner and meaner until I started crying. He ignored me and kept going with the insults. He painfully ripped through my hair with the comb and was the most negative hairdresser I’ve ever dealt with, I would not go back here if he paid me $ 1,000.

It was the first time there for me today, recommended by a friend, and I must say that I don’t regret.
He is very kind and talented.
I liked the fact that he spent time for details (like removing small ear hair with a flame !).
I would highly recommend !

Just relocated from Florida, strange that they require reservation, but I had no trouble getting one for the next day at 12:30. My hair is very straight, grey, and short. Sounds easy to cut, but it isn’t.
FIFO nailed it. Really good job.

Great hair salon! I actually went a long time ago but realized I hadn’t written a review. Pinar did a great job with my hair! She even recommended some products for me specifically and told me the least expensive places I could buy them. This was very telling of how much she cared and is honest, because she could have easily just pushed the salon products. I’m planning to go here again in the future!

Pinar is a talented hairdresser, I’m quite impressed!
I found this little salon in a critical situation: My regular hairdresser overbooked his schedule and wasn’t able to resolve the issue in a professional manner. Meaning, he dropped the ball when I needed it the most! Then I put my hope in the hands of a better Unilocalers’ half and called Pinar.
Despite the last moment appointment she took on a challenge and made my hair ready to face the upcoming event. She did great highlights, nice finishing curls, and what gentle hands she has, ah! What a joy to be so well taken care of.
I’d recommend her to any woman who expects the best.

I been living in California for over 10 years and I wasn’t able to find a hairstylist that could get the honey color highlights I wanted. Every time I checked a new place I ended up blond (something I didn’t want and it looked over bleach) finally a couple of years ago I gave up and I let my natural brown hair grow. A couple of weeks ago I decided to give it try one more time and this time I went to Pinar. She has cut my hair a couple of times and I really liked her and her work.
I showed her a couple of pictures of what I wanted and I told her about my bad experiences on the past.
Finally, after so many years of looking for natural looking highlight, Pinar was able to do exactly what I was looking for. She is just awesome! I highly recommend her.

I tried Istanbul Hair Salon for the first time last week and I should tell you that I was very impressed. Istanbul Hair Salon is not like most hair salons in the bay area. At this place quality and customer satisfaction matters and Fiko proved it to me.
I was welcomed by Fiko once I arrived at my appointment. Fiko patiently and carefully listened to me explaining my hairstyle preferences and gave me very good ideas about my hairstyle. Fiko is well skilled and is one of very few in the bay area that I can tell really knows style. Thank you, Fiko.

Been looking for a new place to try. Nothing was wrong with my old salon just looking for something new. Took my step daughter here this summer and her hair looked beautiful after Pinar got a hold of it. After seeing that I made up my mind to go back and get mine done.
Pinar is amazing, amazing, amazing!!! I am so picky and never really like anything. She gave me great ideas and suggestions on color, highlights, and cut. She told me the prices up front without me having to ask… I kind of giggled cause no one has ever done that before. The color and highlights turned out UNBELIEVABLE. I have never seen a color like this… so freaking cool. She also recommended some good products and never once did I feel pressured to buy anything. She is super friendly and fun to chat with.
This is not a $ 25 ladies haircut kind of place. If that is what you are expecting and have to ask then go to Supercuts. I would pay just about any amount for Pinar… she is so worth it!!! If you are in the area and/​or looking for someone new give Pinar a try.

I went to Istanbul Hair Salon because of the stellar reviews on Unilocal and I’m baffled!
I made an appointment and arrived to a quiet, somber salon. Considering I was a first time customer it wasn’t very welcoming. I was given a brief consultation where I said that I wanted a medium length neat haircut. The stylist acknowledged and began cutting away. I don’t expect a lot of conversation during my haircut but other than the consult and «Thank you», indicating the haircut was complete it was dead silence. I could have lived with this if my haircut had been what I had wanted. Instead of the medium length I had requested I was given a tight military cut! I could have done this myself with an electric clipper and saved myself $ 30 + tip.
I came here expecting something extraordinary based on the reviews and instead got one of those $ 8 chop shop specials! Needless to say I won’t be going back.
Two stars — If this short haircut had been what I had wanted then it’s passable.

To the person below who said it was $ 20… thanks for embarrassing me! Luckily, for the guy with only $ 24 in his pocket, the guys at Istanbul were nice enough to let me go this time. I was very pleased with my southeast asian male haircut. I’m new in town and I will be going here every month.
