I’ve only gotten delivery from Mr. Wonton but after a few orders, it’s hard to say why I would go back. The chicken that we’ve ordered always comes out less than appetizing. What do I mean? Meaning… it’s not good cuts of chicken and we often get the unappetizing portions that are fatty or with cartilage. Overall, it’s so so. If everything else was closed, maybe I would go here but I’m going to need to be super hungry to do that.

Not at all as it was several years ago when two young girls ran the shop. Food is ok but nothing special. Plenty of other take outs in the neighborhood that are better and in some cases less expensive.

Absolutely disgusting. The beef with mixed vegetables was definitely rotten. The cheese wontons had so much salt I worry for my blood pressure. The beef chow fun has congealed and bloated like it was made hours ago. The chicken noodle soup tastes like the plastic container it came in. Just awful. The quality has dropped incredibly since I’ve had food from here the first time. Nothing is fresh. I actually worry that we’re going to get sick tonight from just tasting the food. Deplorable.

Essentially the same as the other 10 mediocre chinese take out places in Sunnyside… I’m only writing this to warn people not to order the Juicy Little Buns… i got excited they had them on the menu, as i love soup dumplings, but unfortunately they’re the industrial prepackaged frozen ones you buy in the chinese supermarket(for 4x the price…)

Directions are written FOR A REASON. My boyfriend is HIGHLYALLERGIC to tofu. It can put him on his deathbed. We write this in every online order and whenever we call over the phone. DONOTCROSSCONTAMINATE. Last night immediately after eating his general tso’s chicken he started wheezing. Then he broke in hives. We luckily have prescription medications and inhalers, so we did not have to rush him to the hospital. BUTREALLY? READYOURDIRECTIONS! I should not have to stay up all night monitoring someone’s breathing and making sure I would not have to take him to the hospital because you can’t follow simple orders — especially when failure to do so could POTENTIALLYKILLSOMEONE. Avoid Avoid Avoid.

A typical, non-authentic Chinese food experience, which, let’s be honest, is sometimes all you want. There aren’t many in the area, so we decided to try Mr. Wonton. The BF claimed General Tso was one of the best and I enjoyed the low oil options but delivery via Seamless took forever the two times we ordered. I had to call both times and make sure the food was coming. This restaurant is a few short blocks from our apartment, so I am not sure why it would take over an hour to deliver food when estimates were 30 – 45 minutes. If we order again, it will be for pickup.

This place is the worst !! The quality of service is almost as underwhelming as the quality of the food. The icing on the cake was paying for a 2 liter of soda and receiving 3 cans of soda instead, «they ran out of 2 liters»… And calculators

This review speaks more to the delivery service rather than the food itself which is run of the mill Americanized Chinese take out. Nothing horrible. Nothing spectacular. Suffice it to say that the experience was horrible. Upon arrival the delivery guy called me from the lobby of my building adamantly requesting that I come downstairs to pick up my food and initially refused to bring the food to my apartment door. Hello, it is called delivery right? After some moments of useless and time consuming squabble back and forth I told him to either bring the food up or take it back to the restaurant. He finally conceded to do his job. With the long last ring of the bell I opened the door to greet the delivery guy and accept my food order. In a split second It was literally thrown at me underhand fast pitch softball style with the delivery guy running back down the hall without any word or level of communication or cordiality whatsoever. So along with my sweet & sour chicken and vegetable steamed dumplings I received a free order of ridiculous temper tantrum from a grown up refusing to do his job. To add insult to injury I gave a 20% tip for my troubles… Arggghhh! My order was placed with one of the online ordering services. I called them to report the issue and they were kind enough to offer a partial credit to make up for the poor experience. I also called Mr. Wonton directly to lodge a complaint mainly to make them aware of the very poor customer service provided by their employee. The lady who answered the phone was pleasant and apologized with a promise to speak to and reprimand the person for their behavior. Alas the damage had already been done. I rarely post reviews on Unilocal but felt compelled to in this instance to simply warn others. There are far too many other options in the Woodside /Sunnyside area and I’d advise strongly that you look into them. I will not be visiting or ordering from Mr. Wonton again…

Well it’s not a very good place, I wouldn’t recomend it because every time I order from there, there is a sense of cockroach poison smell, and I immediately lose my appetite. The food isn’t good either.

You may be the one, Mr. Wonton. I live on the border of Woodside and Sunnyside and so far, all the local Chinese joints have been immensely disappointing. I am talking like stomach issues kind of disappointing. I am just looking for decent food here! So not many options in the area… Found Mr. Wonton’s menu in my drawer the other day and figured I’d give it a shot. Very pleasantly surprised! Good food, quick delivery and great prices(happy with the lunch & dinner combo options/cost) Will absolutely order from them again! Best place I’ve found in the area thus far!

There’s not many places to order Chinese food in Sunnyside. This place makes some pretty decent Americanized Chinese food, and they are really nice. I tend to order just ONE dish: the Hunan beef. Is it the best? Not at all, but it’s perfect when I crave for some standard tasty Chinese food.

In all my years of living in queens I’ve settled for the mediocre Chinese food in my neighborhood until one day I saw their menu in the lobby of my building. I was starving and craving Chinese food so I said let me give Mr. Wonton a try… First of all, they were so nice on the phone. Placing my order was easy and I wasn’t put on hold. The food came in a decent time and it was out of this world. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. I’m in love with their shrimp rolls! Everything about ordering from Mr. Wonton was the best idea ever and it’s the only Chinese takeout I will order when I’m at home. Keep up the good work!

Just your average cheap chinese take-out joint, of which there are about a million in Sunnyside. I’ve ordered from here once and it was definitely sub-par. I would say your money is better spent at one of the local Thai restaurants.

You know on those days where there seems to be nothing to eat in the fridge and you don’t feel like cooking anything, take-out is the only thing you want to do. And for those days where you just want some good chinese take out, Mr Wonton in Sunnyside is my go to place. They are a bit of a hole in the wall joint, but it does the job when the craving hits. My usual order is General Tso’s Combination Dish with white rice and a egg roll. The chicken is always good. Sometimes they give me the pork fried rice instead, but its so good, how can i complain.

Food is good enough. However, I’ve been getting take out from them for a while. They gave me the wrong order. When I called to complain they basically said too bad, even though they took my money.

I feel a little silly giving a Chinese take-out place 5 stars, but for what it is, nothing beats it. They never«cheat». It is always top notch with friendly service to boot.(I always tip a buck, so that probably doesn’t hurt.) This is the only place in Sunnyside from where I get my Chinese take-out.

Went here the other day and thought it was pretty good. I had the Roast Pork Chop Suey. Nice light sauce and nice pieces of marinated Roast Pork. I also had a Hot & Sour Soup… of course. This was good as well. Nice dark color lots of little pieces of egg, tofu and mushrooms. Pretty reasonably priced, close to me and an A health rating, not bad.

I’m a life-long NYC-er, and I can say wholeheartedly that this is a superior Chinese takeout spot. My Queens-bred Chinese-American wife agrees. I know it’s just a takeout joint. So, I don’t know how exactly to describe its superiority — it’s just better than most. And I promise, we’ve tried tons. Their Mai Fun, moo shu, and steamed dishes are a cut above the competition. I’ve lived in three different places in Sunnyside/Woodside, and have been fortunate to be in their delivery zone the whole time. They’re also fast and efficient, with a competent counter-woman who speaks good English. Now that I’m in LIC, every new takeout joint we try has us longing for Mr. Wonton.
