First of all — as Jon P(whom I don’t know btw) alludes to in his review, I agree, don’t even go to this place. Don’t go, or use them PERIOD. My situation is quite different, but the conclusion is, they’re in the business of helping themselves to your money, regardless of helping YOU — the customer. Don’t try finding out either, just try another and help yourself from feeling duped. After being recommended by Panasonic to these ‘dupe-experts’ as a 3rd party for TV repair, I got on the phone in a pretty professional manner on both ends, to determine tentatively, what’s wrong with my Plasma TV. They determined — from a distance of course, the obvious. The power panel might be out. Of course, to be fair, the best determination would be if a technician came out to do his diagnosis. HOWEVER, this costs, even if U determine you’re not going to fix it w/them. So once U have someone come out, it’ll cost. OK, pretty fair? After all, it’s a business. Even though they’re some businesses who do practice — if we come out, we charge you ONLY if you decide to fix it w/us, NOT just to come out and confirm the problem. But here’s the catch: what these folks told me over the phone(for free) was the exact thing, if not more in detail, than was determined when the technician came out. So why’d he come out? Well, this is where they dupe U. Instead of fully informing me my TV’s life span usually lasts 6 – 7 years over the phone, something easily determined from their end based on the model, serial# info etc. The technician told me this in-person, once he’d come out to my home — AKA — we already are gonna charge U buddy! Do U think i would’ve had someone come out to my home n’ charge me, if over the phone that info about the usual lifespan of that particular TV lasting 6−7yrs, was relayed to me? NO! Of course NOT. I’d make a wise decision and just accept my TV lived its life and it’s time to replace entirely, OR, if I didn’t feel to shop around, have them fix it for $ 100 less than purchasing a new TV. Let the customer decide this based on you guys being transparent, w/out duping them by having someone come out to say the exact thing U said over the phone and charging them at that. EXCEPT for the«left-out» fact that my TV model, manufacturer date and purchase time, «most likely means your TV has reached its life’s end». This technician came out n’ said this to me after he pressed the power buttons on my TV, something I’d already done over the phone w/them. That’s IT. He spent more time here being on his phone w/his office to determine the total cost and charges of repair, than he did for his diagnosis. He was nice, he wasn’t rude and he was very humble. In fact, he never opened the TV or anything technical for that matter, ATALL. But this practice is horrendous. Why would anyone not say this critical info in the same instance over the phone before U – the customer, makes a decision? Shady. Dupe-experts. I hope this review helps to AVOID this happening to the next in-line, to get(hopefully) un-duped. They want your money first and foremost. Then help U fix your TV, even if it means, buying a new one is your best case scenario. A scenario only communicated, AFTER they’ve gotten your credit card info and can chi-ching!
