Awesome food & service! Family owned! Love the onion rings, cheeseburgers, everything is great! Always a stop when back home in the 413

I’m very disappointed because the food isn’t what it used to be. It used to be worth the high prices because it was fresh fast food of a superior caliber and even better taste. I waited all winter to have a fried chicken sandwich; I paid five bucks for a McChicken.

I actually like the icecream here and the food(aside from the burgers, which are abysmal) isn’t bad. My problem with this place are twofold: 1: The prices are shockingly high… a «large» fry(about the side of a medium anywhere else) alone will cost you over $ 5. 2: The luddite idiot that runs this place insists on forcing employees to waste time(often incorrectly) calculating the totals using pen and paper instead of leaving it up to the cash register. I can’t count how many times I’ve had them scribble down all the math, tell me a total and FINALLY ring it up on the register, only to discover that the pen & paper idiocy was wrong and needed to be redone. The fact that anyone would possibly trust the math abilities of ANY human(let alone highschoolers over a cash register is just flabbergasting. It’s a shame because, as I said, I like the food here but enough is enough. If I want to have my time wasted, there are more entertaining ways than watching someone farting around with pen & paper in 2014. Also, as a side note, it seems a bit creepy but the regular staff here seem to be entirely skinny 18 year old girls. I don’t even want to know what that’s about.

Worst place ever. Way overpriced. 2 scoops of hard icecream for $ 4.00! Are you kidding me?! I’ve been twice now for a softserve come which everybody claims if the«best softserve» and both times I’ve gotten a mess of an icecream. It’s basically a slushie with a little bit of flavoring. Twisters in turners falls, ma serves the best softserve and everybody who comes here needs a reality check. Stop being so cheap and add some flavor to your ice cream!

The Southwest Turkey BLT burger was hands down the best burger I’ve ever had. Perfectly cooked and served on a toasted roll with bacon, lettuce and tomato; topped with a spicy chipotle mayo, this burger beats anything at Gordon Ramsey’s BurGR! It’s definitely worth the five minute drive east of I-91.

I had a hard time finding this place on Unilocal due to the misspelling of the name. Anyhow… this has been our favorite soft-serve for years and years and we look forward to making our seasonal pilgrimage out to Sunderland, but, sadly, it’s not special enough to warrant the prices and the drive. $ 4 for a small dipped cone? It’s soft serve — it’s just like every other soft serve — and the dip I had yesterday was actually transparent. Average cone at an above-average price.

Perhaps all the reviewers were young … I’m not and I am surprised none mentioned that it is a drive-in like those of yore. It is clean, very well maintained and, if you can score a lobster role, you are in for a treat. The hot dogs are great and I’m assured that is true of the Frostees as well.(I have hardly any sweet tooth.)

It’s great for what it is: quality soft-serve ice cream and snacks in the shadow of Mt. Sugar Loaf. It’s the place to go if you are looking for soft-serve ice cream in the Pioneer Valley. You will find other families, with kids and dogs in tow, enjoying their ice cream on the picnic benches. And you can stop at a farm stand on your way home to get some fresh veggies for tomorrow…

This place is always delicious although the prices have become considerably steeper throughout the years. The hot dogs rock and the ice cream is yummy. I was always a little turned off when I was younger because the people working were a bunch of «popular girls» from the local high school who I didn’t really care to see anymore than I had to but now I live very far away from Frostees and crave a good creamy place at times. If you’re put off by the price of ice cream, there’s always Shimarowski’s(I may have butchered that spelling) which is down Route 47 from the center of Sunderland. My tip is to order take out and take it to the top of Mt. Sugarloaf– which gives you a classic local experience.

There are two reasons I go to this place. One, is for an ice cream. The second is for the hot dogs. The ice cream selection is pretty usual fare for soft serve. You can get everything from soup to nuts on it and about three sizes along with shakes and sundaes galore. The side of the building is pasted with every ice cream configuration you can think of. I usually get a van/choc twist. The prices are a little steep, and that’s across the board. The hot dogs are grilled with a grilled roll and made to order and presented all wrapped up in foil. I usually get the kraut dog with mustard. The kraut here is homemade and is in itself very good. The reasons I didn’t give this place 5 stars is price, I think it’s too high. Another reason is the fries. They are frozen and probably extruded. I would expect for the price the fries would be hand cut from fresh unpeeled potatoes, but they are not. Also, they are a little stingy when it comes to the little foil packets of ketchup. As of today, they still don’t put out condiments, you to ask. And,…no Bat Cave(Bathroom). If you like steamed hot dogs, see my review on Tom’s in Whately, MA.

Artery clogging Road Food… the frostees are chemically appealing… a bit overpriced for what you get in food quality… great view of the ridge from its seating area but it’s far more preferable to get your food in hand and pop up to the top of Sugarloaf and chow down… If you can handle(or totally love) the grease factor then this is a great place to stop by while you’re touring the Pioneer Valley…
