Denny’s

This place was lagging in service and cleanliness. It took a long time to be seated. The tables sat, needing to be cleaned, for a long time. The food took a long time to come out and some of it was cold and undercooked.

Really slow service. Usually forgivable by me as I work in the food industry as well and I understand that there are certain circumstances where your wait times take a major hit… It happens. So long as you are busting your ass and doing the most, I can’t fault anyone for that.
Unfortunately this was not the case at this Denny’s tonight. Very slow (waited 5 – 10 minutes to be seated to be told to just sit wherever?) almost 45 minutes for food to arrive when there were only 4 other parties in the restaurant.
Service was very friendly but sadly that wasn’t enough to make up for the fact we were in a bit of a hurry (driving home from LA) and they threw a kink in our travel plans. We finished our food ten minutes ago and still haven’t been offered a check. Whereeee did our waiter go? Boo.
Also, this area looks SUPER shady. But I’m not from around here, so what do I know…

I went this morning to pickup usually my breakfast since work is close by, and there was a new Asian manager. So as i walk in he yells from the kitchen area «Superbird»? I then realize he was yelling at me so i shook my head to say yes. He comes over to charge me and he says: «I thought i told you 15min not an hour and fifteen minutes then he said just kidding thinking its funny. I just smiled but i didn’t think it was funny. I don’t have to explain to someone why i am late if i am buying food from their restaurant so i didn’t. I just want to pick up my food with someone that has manners which the usual employees that help me are. I don’t know who this guy thinks he is but he’s customer skills really do need improvement.

I come here to eat breakfast once in awhile. The skillet omelette and the veggie skillet. My kids love there pancakes and the jr slam. I love how they take care of you always coming to ask if you need anything. There is no wait time every time i go.

Under staffed. Dirty and furniture is old. Boyfriend and I went on a Sunday morning and the seats were not filled. We waited 30 minutes for someone to ask for our drinks and then we waited 1 hour for our food to come. Custom Es began to walk out because they were not getting their food. Our orders came back wrong. Overall horrible experience

Came on a Sunday with my wife & 4 yr old boy to SUN VALLEY location, not very busy, I was given a table right away & I dicide to time our visit. Well I noticed that few servers were pampering few guests & while my family was being ignored. After viewing servers passing us by like 4 – 5 times. Not even a greeting nor asking what drinks we wanted. After 20mins. That’s RIGHT 20 MINS & my son very hungry, no server came to us, i decided to leave and relocate at the Dennys in Burbank. While leaving I inform the manager, she said OK I’LL GET YOU A SERVER AND GIVE YOU A DISCOUNT, I reply No thanks. If it took a customer to be served then you can’t run a business. So I left, so coming to BURBANK location they are more friendly, fast service, very clean, and my son was happy. Not coming back to sun valley location anymore or my 15 friends that I inform about my visit

WORST SERVICE EVER! waited 10minutes for a booth which we did not mind since we requested a booth. When we finally sat we got greeted by the server but he seemed rushed… we asked for our drinks and he was like «ok ok» but we also wanted the appetizer platter when we asked for it he just said ok and left like he was rushed. we were ok does he know which items we want? When he came back we told him and he said ok ok lol. When the appetizer finally came in NO RANCH NO BBQ. We had to ask and he only brought us ranch no bbq. Took 40minutes to get our food. My husband order the Philly cheese steak omelet and it was COLD! ugh… I asked for napkins never got them. Never got the BBQ. Server: Rolando. I understand breakfast time is busy… but write stuff down so you don’t forget. «/

We usually come here a lot when we do we always ask for Juan great server He is on top of everything went there for my birthday had another waiter and I had a sausage that looked like it had mold on it of course I didn’t eat it took a picture of it so make sure to check out your food good if you go there

The service here is always excellent, especially during the week day or early morning ! Antonia the waitress was very attentive even though she had plenty of tables to serve not once did we feel abandoned, been coming here through out the years since they’ve opened in Sun Valley not once have we ever had bad service.
The food is always fresh and delicious, it’s never boring the breakfast is the main meal for my family, the variety they have is incredible, every breakfast slam plate is different from French Toast to pancakes, omelets, right now they have the fantastic 4 special breakfast, the invisible woman was delicious the fresh Blueberry pancakes were topped with fresh strawberries and banana slices, that also includes 2 eggs any way you like, 1 sausage, 1 bacon strip and of course their crunchy hash browns, the kids menu is pretty good, they include pictures so that the kids can actually see what it looks like and of course what they like.

Not good customer service at all! Went there for breakfast and the waitress served us our drinks and never came back to take our order! We sat there waiting for like 20 mins while the waitress kept walking by our table and never even bothered to ask us if we were ready to order. Never going back there again! Terrible service and experience.

If i could give this place no stars, then i would. The service here is horrible. The wait time was HORRIBLE. When we first walked in we heard the manager arguing on the phone with someone bc they wanted to report to corporate. And the manager kept enficizing that they are a franchise restaurant. I waited 30 mins for my ice coffee, and a total of 45 mins for our food. On top of that i had ordered a french toast, which took 30 mins, so i just ordered the check. And they were trying to charge me for it when i never even got it! Never coming back here again.

Just left this Denny’s in Sun Valley off of Vineland blvd. The food I ordered never came out. I waited at least 30 to 40 minutes. I had to walk out .I never will go back there again. Waiters doing a lot of talking amongst themselves and not concentrating on the task at Hand. Waste of time for me. Rodney

I love dennys the food is always great but the staff here not so good some staff try and others don’t at least pretend that u like working there

I went today for Sunday breakfast with my family and it was a full house. The wait time was 20 min which is very reasonable wait time and the bus boys were very efficient in picking up the tables immediately after people left.
We got to our table it took about 15 minutes for our waitress to take our order for what we wanted to drink. Then it took about another 10 for her to bring them back and take our order for the food. By then we were there for a total of 45min (including wait time) and were pretty hungry. It took another 30 min to get my appetizer and about 10 minutes after that to get our food. The manager was in a light green shirt and was helping the table directly behind us and I thought it was bad customer service on her behalf to see our waitress running around and not offer extra help. It seemed like she may have known those customers and stopped by frequently when we were having to wave workers down to get a refill.
I didn’t appreciate the difference in service or the lack of teamwork that is needed in that workplace. I hope to catch the managers attention and have her realize that working together on days like this is critical for a good customer experience.

Really bad Denny’s location … I use to love the wings here, they were good for a reasonable price. About a year ago, they changed them they became smaller and not as good. What a shame.
Today however I was feeling really sick and craving some wings but didn’t want to drive too far so I was willing to settle for Denny’s… I come in and the waiters says she doesn’t know if they have any left… She checks and comes back and says «we don’t have any», why is it in the menu then? And she didn’t seem nice about it. I use to work in food service maybe I would have added «I apologize for the inconvenience» especially sense it took about 10 minutes for someone to come out of the kitchen to help me. Not a good start. Thought it was closed, down the place was dead!

I’ve been here a few times, but this last time was not a good experience. The waiter looked like he hates his job. He literally dragged his feet as he walked from the kitchen to our table. He took forever to get our drinks then took even longer to take our order. We needed refills, but that same waiter was either on his break or just didn’t care about our service. He went to sit at a table with the only other guest there… they were obviously his friends. I seriously couldn’t believe him. Granted it was really late, but that was BS.
Oh, but the food was good that’s why they get 2 stars.
I would put him on blast, but he wasn’t wearing a name badge.

Stoner heaven lol if you love a good soda their Sprite is really good and their hot chocolate is bomb!!! Waiting on the fries :) messed up meant seasoned fries got a new batch. Thanks Andy for a nice service

This Denny’s is by far the most relaxing Denny’s I’ve ever been to. The place is huge, the staff is attentive and the food is always good.
We also like the fact that it’s never busy.

You Know I have been here quite a few
Times throughout the years. Never once was there a wait. There is always plenty of seating and not many people so our food arrives quickly. I recommend this Dennys over all the other Dennys because the others have too long a wait. :)

I give this place three stars because it isn’t anything spectacular but it’s also not the worse either. Customer service is good, could be better. Nothing memorable. Food is good, the presentation could be better. But I give them props for keeping the restaurant clean. They also happily honored my birthday voucher (I got a free Grand Slam) I came here with my momma. Since it’s close to home, I’ll be returning.
