Hot dogs, sausage, bratwurst and turkey dogs with all the toppings you could think of. They are labeled with fun names like the Aretha Franklin, Frankie J, Frank Sinatra etc. there are also burgers and tacos. Even ice cream flats with various soda flavors. Sweet!

Fun place to eat! Great variety of options if you like interesting things on your hotdogs! One favorite is the mac and cheese dog with bacon! We stop and eat and play cards. Easy going, fun atmosphere!

Hot dogs are for kids … or that is what you might think until you eat here. So many delicious dogs, with amazing sweet potato fries … everyone who is in the area needs to stop in, and then stop in again.

I finally got the opportunity to eat here and so my expectations were set pretty high with the tv appearance and all the great feedback from friends. The place was nice, clean and staff was pleasant. My mom got the Rueben Dog and LOVED it. I decided to try a sandwich and got the fried green tomato and palmetto cheese BLT and I was a little disappointed. Hint: the missing 5th star. Everything was great except for the bacon. The bacon was crumbled and very little of it. I had wished there was more bacon period. Otherwise our experience was good.

I’m going to have to try again. I went in for fries to have with drinks next door(we were at Bottles n’ Brushes) and that’s all I ordered. I asked for it to go. It took 25 minutes! It seemed like the sit down clients that came in after me got my food. I saw several people with their complete meals before I got mine, and they definitely came in after me. But the fries were AMAZING when I finally got them!!! I want to give them a second try and see what it’s like. Maybe I got them on an off day…

Went today and it was really good! The cheese fries were my favorite thing. Our group had various hot dogs, all enjoyed. Corndogs and grilled cheese were good too. Neat place.

Let me start by saying this: I LOVED the old«P. Dogs».(Their name before they shut down, reorganized, and opened under the name«Perfectly Franks».) I even loved this place before they… what’s the term I’m looking for here… got out of control? Lost perspective? Stopped focusing on what’s really important? Yeah, all of those. Allow me to explain. Even before this place was featured on national TV, things started to be just«ok». We’d still eat there, but had noticed the decline already. Is this a HOTDOG place, or ISN’T it? Because blowing up the menu with WAY overpriced items just isn’t going to work for normal hometown folks. Tourists, maybe. But the rest of us… those who made them what they are now… were with them all the way back when they had reasonably priced gourmet hot dogs that they prepared with ultimate care. And now? The focus seems to be on bbq, fish tacos, salads, home made sauces… anything BUT the gourmet hot dogs that made them famous. And as far as the hot dog, the final two times I went in, the actual hot dog itself was so shriveled from over cooking it was just pathetic. I didn’t complain, didn’t ask for my money back… we just left… sad, that it had come to this after such a great beginning. On the way out we noticed how dirty the floors were. Like, ground in gets mopped over kind of dirt. High chairs were sticky. The ladies bathroom was a mess. These are all things that never used to happen. Never. And that’s why we loved it so much. We won’t be back. Not unless we hear through the grapevine that things are vastly different. If I could offer anything, it would be this: Get back to basics guys, or surely you’re going to lose everything you’ve worked so hard for.

2 because our service was good, but to be honest… the food was lacking. The buns were perfect and of plenty, as were the toppings. Yet the hot dog itself was such a small portion in comparison. Like a few other posts, ybe it Sat under the lamp too long and just dried up. Regardless, we don’t have any desire to go back considering the proportions of bread to toppings to meat. We wanted to find an appreciation for this little joint downtown, but feel that our tastebuds can be satisfied else where. **If you go and enjoy it… then keep giving back to this community.**

I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately, it was just ok. Not saying that 2 stars are bad. I’m just saying in my experience, it isn’t 5 stars good. — I knew Laura and I would be in Summerville so I looked Perfectly Frank’s up on Unilocal.I wanted to see what people are saying about the place as well as what people are ordering here. I was stoked to check it out as most of the reviews were good and gave lots of praise to Frank’s. It’s a simple place, both inside and out. The menu is extensive so I highly recommend taking a look at it before hand. Get a feel for what your wanting before stepping up to the order counter. Also, kids and hot dogs go hand in hand so be warned, this is a very kid friendly place. Nothing wrong with that at all. So we ordered the fish tacos, Aretha Franklin and an order of the sweet potato fries with blue cheese and honey. The food came out fast! super fast for us, which was good because we were both starving. BUT! I did see where some people’s food came out slow and sporadic. People who had been sitting before us got their food after us. How does that happen? Our sweet potato fries were over cooked to the point of almost burned. The honey and blue cheese toppings are better left off. The hot dog looked like it had been sitting under a heat lamp prior to being placed on the bun, but you add the toppings and it was just ok. Nothing spectacular. The fish on our fish taco’s was pretty good and left me wanting more. The flour tortilla they came on however, was hard and chewy. Not sure what you did to get it like this, but I would recommend not doing it anymore. I like the concept of what Perfectly Frank’s is doing here. I just don’t care for your execution.

Thought we would give this please a try. Saw it on diners drive ins and dives so finally stopped in. Very disappointed. Hot dogs are fried to a shriveled up crisp!!! Tator tots and fries tasted like they had not changed the grease in awhile. Maybe just a bad one time stop, but won’t be back. Worst hot dog ever!

I’ve been a huge fan of Perfectly Frank’s for years(my friends and I used to go after school when they were still in their old, very small building!). From the hot dog traditionalists, to the vegetarians, to the adventurists, P. Frank’s will have a hot dog or sandwich that will please anyone’s taste buds. I’m partial to the Frank Morgan — a hot dog on a sesame seed bun topped with mac and cheese. But if that isn’t your cup of tea, the menu is extensive enough so you’ll be able to find at least one or two dogs you’d like. I also suggest trying the sweet potato fries. They’re SO good! There’s a lot of space for seating, but of course during peak lunch and dinner hours, the restaurant will be a bit crowded. If you’re worried about your wait, you can call in your order and pick it up in-store without having to worry about finding a place to sit! Prices are reasonable too, and you get a lot of food for your money.

I hate writing this review. We ate at Perfectly Frank’s a couple times right after moving to the area and really liked the place. It had been a year or more so when we were deciding what to do for lunch we chose them. We each ordered a frank. My iyo daughter for the Frank Morgan, which was a good size for a kid. I’m not sure what the portion sizes are for kids meals. My husband ordered the one with the ribeye and was not happy. There were only a couple small pieces of ribeye and some grilled onions. I honestly think they gave him twice as much onions as they did ribeye. It was a sad sight. Even with our shared order of franch fries he was no where near full. I ordered the J Franco. It was pretty tastey and had more toppings than my husband’s but, like my him, I wasn’t quite full. However I think this is a menu you order more than one item from. My suggestion; order a couple franks and a side to share.

We love this place! I usually order the Franky Popper or Franky Cheese steak(both delish) but today I tried the Franky Pierce as part of the $ 2 Tuesday deal. Excellent! I also tried the homemade chips today. I love sweet potato fries, but think I’ll stick with these from now on. Highly recommend for a quick trip and good food!

I’m not a hotdog lover. Take me to a traditional backyard BBQ and I’m grabbing a hamburger off the grill over a hotdog every time. But I have friends that live in Summerville so I’ve meet them here twice for an inexpensive meal and great conversation. The route I went was the Frank Bruno the first visit, and the Frank Cuda the second. The Frank Bruno offered a ton of pimento cheese but a small dog which was fine by me. The Frank Cuda was supposed to have chili, cheese sauce, blue cheese slaw, bacon and crispy onions. Mine was dressed with a tiny dab of chili, maybe one drop of cheese sauce that I saw towards the end, plenty of the slaw which was good, and a couple small pieces of bacon and the french fried onions. It’s a good combination and probably would have been much better with an even amount of all the toppings. The fries have been crispy and plentiful for ½ orders, making them easy to share. The place is big, colorful, and has been loud both times because of all the families with kids. So if you feel like a dog, go try your way thru the vast menu of options.(PSST, my friend’s claim the Aretha Franklin is the route to go!!)

Went in for lunch long wait after ordering. Then found a bug cooked on to the bun of the hot dog see the uploaded pic. Went to the counter was treated as if no big deal and only offered another dog. I declined that offer.

Outside of Perfectly Frank’s, I am a hot dog traditionalist: I will eat it plain or with some ketchup or mustard. The menu is so extensive and creative here, that I just can’t bring myself to eat a «normal» dog. I have tried the Frank Morgan(topped with mac and cheese), Frank Cuda(topped with chili, cheese, bleu cheese slaw, bacon and crispy onions) and the Frank Thomas(yellow mustard, tomatoes, sweet pickle relish, kraut, sport peppers, onions and celery seed). My favorite is the Frank Cuda. I am not a fan of bleu cheese so I was leary of the slaw but it isn’t overpowering and really fits with the other toppings. If you make a trip to Perfectly Frank’s, just know that it will be likely be very busy and you may have to wait a bit for your food. We sat outside yesterday at one of two tables but there were people standing around inside waiting for a table to open.

Once you get on DDD, you become famous. However, to keep that honor, you must stay great. These guys are not perfect, but they are very good. Not the best Hot Dogs around but certainly, one of the best. Order yourself, sit, and it will be brought to you. The dogs could be bigger, the fries should not be so dark and salty. Order the ½ order, unless you want to take some home. Prices very easy on the pocket. Worth the trip there. A must try. Frank G

Eating my way through Charleston — Part 10 The last stop on our journey was a great hot dog joint called Perfectly Franks. Every hot dog on the menu is named after someone«frank» and the choices are plentiful. I got the Aretha Franklin(pulled pork, cole slaw, bbq sauce, onion strings), the Franklin’s Tower(bacon, cream cheese, grilled onions), the Frankie«Elvis»(peanut butter, honey, grilled bananas, bacon), and beer battered onion rings. The Aretha Franklin was delicious but felt like the safest bet on the table, the Frankie«Elvis» was way better than I would have expected a hot dog covered in peanut butter could be, but the best hot dog at the table was Franklin’s Tower. I was skeptical about the cream cheese and hot dog flavor combination but when paired with the grilled onions and bacon it blended together to create one of the best hot dogs I have ever come across. After visiting 10 restaurants in two days we were pretty well stuffed and it was time to head back to the QC. With little man strapped in the back seat, my lady to my right, and a full tank of gas, we made our way back to Charlotte and our Charleston Restaurant Hopping vacation was officially over.
