This place has the best BBQ sauce! All of the smoked meats are top notch. We even get a smoked Turkey breast during the holidays that is unbeatable! Ive never had a bad meal here when it comes to the meat. The Bo Pie is unique and shouldn’t be missed (like a Fritos pie with chopped beef and beans). Their BBQ baked potato is awesome as well (the potato is smoky and delicious). Their mashed potatoes are great. The mac n cheese is mediocre and so is the macaroni salad. The beans are all great (a few different options). The cole slaw and potato salad are both pretty good.
This is an order at the counter and pick a table kind of place. It’s always clean and usually pretty quiet in the dining area. The bathrooms are also typically clean.

I really enjoyed my lunch here today!!! Foods and services were awesome like always. Place was clean and well organized. Thumbs up!!!

Overpriced and Poor customer service. Everything was expensive especially when I asked for brisket and the cashier automatically charged me for the most expensive brisket plate on the menu. When questioned she said you didn’t saw which one you wanted. When we asked for French fries the disgusted look from the cashier was off putting. Apparently they «don’t do fried foods». When we got our chopped brisket there was no sauce… apparently you have to request it. Overall, fail. I would say skip this place.

Friendly and hospitable restaurant. If you want a quiet place to go with space to breathe, this is the place. I like coming here because there’s a lot of space for my family to just relax and not worry about other people bothering us.
The prices are average for bbq plates. Brisket is amazing. Wish it were just a tad more moist. But overall great food. Standard bbq sides. The banana pudding is delicious!
The only other thing I wish was that they put their pickles, onions, out for you to put on your plate. I always forget to ask for pickles. But other than that on point place for BBQ.

We stopped for some to-​go and got the chopped and sliced brisket– awesome! Very moist and flavorful Sauces good, basic bit too sweet or over the top one way or the other

Clean place. Nice atmosphere. Brisket is lean but moist and juicy. I stop here every time on my way to LA or home to Dallas.

Pretty basic bbq. From the 2 pieces of plain white bread to the basic décor within the place, I wasn’t impressed with anything. I ordered a 2 meat plate and a drink which came with 2 sides — baked beans and coleslaw for me. The meat wasn’t bad after I drenched it in bbq sauce. A little dry though. The coleslaw definitely came of the Sysco food truck along with the plain old baked beans. It would be nice if the beans were dolled up with chunks of bacon or meat and a little brown sugar to give them some flavor. The coleslaw could have been hand made and fresher.
This place is definitely a chain, with streamlined food. I would recommend trying a local place over Bodacious BBQ. Also, no need to write home or call mamma, as I won’t be coming back.

Ok i think we share a problem. This is not my idea of BBQ. I can get better BBQ and sides at brookshires. Just my opinion. But I do know good BBQ when I eat it. Good Hotsauce and BBQ sauce. You can buy it separtly. Richard W.

Bodacious is a no frills BBQ joint. Take out or eat in its just great bbq. The sauce is vinegar based which I prefer but is not over powering. I always get the ½ or full rack of ribs meal that comes with two sides. The ribs are fall off the bones tender and the sides are fresh and tasteful. I usually get the potato salad and coleslaw.
The potato salad is flavorful and never disappointing. The coleslaw is crunchy and not over seasoned. I highly recommend it.

I personally did not care for the bbq here, just not what I’m used to. Nothing to rave about. Just okay.

YOWZA, that was some GOOD Barbecue! The chopped beef, lean, sandwich with pickles, onions and sauce was tender, moist and flavorful-​excellent! The St. Louis style ribs, which I was hesitant to order until Mr. Sam Elliott Lookalike said «They’re REALLY good» and convinced me to try them, were excellent as well. I actually like a little hotter sauce, but I didn’t ask for hot, so maybe they have it.
Very friendly service, great barbecue and reasonable prices make a winning combination.

Traveling from Austin, heading for Arkansas and St. Louis, .needed BBQ. Stopped here. Ribs good, liked sauce and cole slaw. Potato salad good also, brisket ok, not smoky enough. Very friendly staff, quick service, very clean restaurant and restrooms. We would return when traveling through again. Our visit was on 8-​28-​2013, was on the road and never had a chance to submit this.

One of the few times that Unilocal has let me down. Based on the 4 star rating I was expecting a lot better.
I was passing through town around lunchtime and stopped in for what I had hoped would be good BBQ. I ordered a chopped beef sandwich, their spicy beans and mashed potatoes.
I wish I would have taken a picture of it but their «sandwich» is actually 2 pieces of plain, white bread that are sitting on top of the chopped beef. I attempted to make a chopped beef sandwich but it was just a big mess. The beef itself was dry and didn’t have much flavor. I ended up just drenching it in their BBQ sauce.
The mashed potatoes were definitely from a box. Sadly I’ve had better boxed mashed potatoes than these. The beans were room temperature which I had about 2 bites of.
Very disappointed.

We stopped here on our way to vacation after reading reviews here on Unilocal.The BBQ was good — good flavor, nice portion size. The mashed potatoes were amazing good! We were traveling with two young children and the staff was very helpful with getting drinks and food to our table. My only complaint was the lack of a changing station for changing my son’s diaper.

Our, large extended family was visiting in Sulphur Springs in July. We returned late in the evening very hungry and with four tired hungry toddlers. We pulled up to Bodacious Bar-​B-​Q but they had closed. As we walked back to our cars, the owner came out and called us back in. He was patient and helpful as 5 adults and 4 children decided what they wanted to eat. He proceeded to serve us quickly with wonderful bar-​b-​que and side dishes. Everything we ordered was delicious and very well prepared. His staff was doing the evening clean– up, but they worked unobtrusively around our tables, and were friendly and welcoming.
It was a great dinner and the owner and servers could not have been nicer and more helpful than they were! One family member wanted to know where she could buy some of the cheese they served as a side order, and as late as it was, the owner graciously took time to look up supplier information for her.
Because of the extra work and extra time that we caused, I added a fairly large tip to the credit card payment. After we returned home, I was checking my credit card bill on-​line and noticed that the owner hadn’t included the tip when he ran the receipt through the bank. I was amazed. Truly good Southern food and hospitality.
I wish we lived closer so that we could eat there more often. I agree! It is a bodacious place to eat!

Yum! This place was awesome. The staff was super friendly, the bathrooms are very clean (important when you are eating out) and the food was fantastic. My husband and I both got the rib plate. The ribs were moist and falling off the bone. I had slaw and potato salad. The slaw was your normal slaw but the potato salad was outstanding. My husband said his pinto beans were delicious. Both my kids got pulled pork sandwiches and they devoured them. The only complaint (and it’s a minor one) we wish the mac and cheese had been served a little warmer.

Poor quality BBQ. They leave the fat back on the brisket and try to pass it off with the sliced brisket. Use that crap for chopped brisket, not sliced. Or better yet, remove it and don’t try to sell fat by the pound. The coleslaw was milky crap. The beans were canned and you can’t mess that up so that is a plus. And the workers pitched a fit and started throwing things around like toddlers when I said we did not want the sliced fat — we wanted meat. Rude ass, immature behavior from restaurant workers. I don’t recommend them.

Would give this BBQ 10 stars if we could. Love the BBQ here! Everything is perfect. Get the brisket, spicy links, potato salad, spicy baked beans and be amazed! We love their sauce! Their best secret– the blackberry cobbler! You can order 4 different sizes, including by the pan for $ 22. We ordered a quart of cobbler and the family pack #1 (feeds 4). We had sides and cobbler left to take home. The sides alone are worth the trip but the meat definitely lives up to its name! So bodacious!!!
We went at 2:30pm on a Tuesday and there was a steady stream of people coming in and getting take out. Even though we were the only people when we got there.
Easy on/​off off interstate. One lot north of I30 on Broadway behind gas station.
Lots of seating available inside.

Standard fare with all the usuals… this BBQ «needs“sauce. nuff said.

Walked in and was greeted immediately. It does have a little bit of a fast food feel when you walk in. Staff was very friendly.
I ordered a slab of rips that came out within 1 – 2 minutes. Uh-​oh… I like my food fast when I’m at Wendy’s not when ordering ribs.
However, these ribs were awesome. Very tender and full of flavor. That keep that bbq Sauce in lightly heated bottles. It was great! My face was a mess but oh well. The food was top notch!
Only thing that kept this from being 5 stars was the $$$. Spent $ 23 and it came with tiny sides and a drink was extra. Really?
I’d go again!
