Corn with cheese a must, their ice shave flavor is also good. The line is usually long and the wait time to get your order is ridiculous so have patience. The best thing of all is that they give you discount or free when you order a certain amount and it’s cheap too. I see a lots of kids maybe in High School coming here with their date. They even have seats if you want to hang around, overall very good experience.

Come if you’re ready to wait 25 minutes for sub par shaved ice. Seriously waiting out in the heat for 25 minutes for shaved iced is just crazy and I can’t believe we did it. But it will be the last time. The covered patio is nice to hang out at while you’re cooling down.

Came here for a Mangonada with a tamarin stick. They forgot the tamarin stick, but the mangonada was delicious!

I can tell this place has changed. Staff is nothing but teens who have no idea what customer service is. My mango in a cup was definitely pre-made who knows from when and stored in a refrigerator. The mango was horrible. Nothing at all how it used to be. It was soggy and they put waaaaay too much chile on ot. that’s coming from a Mexican that loves chile. My coke wasn’t even cold and I don’t know what I was expecting ordering a chile cheese dog for $ 2.50… Overall dossapointed in this experience.

Can I just say that I think that the location is extremely random and kind of in the middle of no where. With that being said, this place gets a thumbs up for me. There’s only ONE thing that I come here for which is the Dreamsicle but that’s not all, I always make sure to add condensed milk and a scoop of ice cream. Seriously the best thing there. The best way to describe it is that it’s creamy. If that’s your thing, give it a try. Their foods aren’t anything special. The prices are awesome, especially with the usual hot Houston weather. Now the main reason for the 4 stars is because it does take the workers awhile to get your order. Other then that, this place is worth giving a try!

Having been back to the ice barn since summer of 2015. Why? After the original staff(class of 2013&2014) all left, the service and snow cone was terrible! Everything is drowned in syrup, unless you ask for light syrup! And sometimes, they forget to do so! I miss having a cheap snow cone, but that line is crucial tbh.

This place is fantastic! The coco natural is my favorite with real chunks of coco. The service is great too. Although the lines are long. Be prepared to wait for over an hr. Recommendations: Piccadilly, anything with crema, coco natural and a must try is the banana split.

This place is a gift. The flavors are fantastic, the chilli cheese dogs are fantastic, the corn in a cup is fantastic. I am fantastic, You are fantastic. We are all fantastic. The Ice Barn closes its windows for winter(whatever that word means) November first, so get your fix now or you’ll have to wait until they reopen in March of next year.

Super friendly staff and extensive menu! Took a while to decide on my order. Went with the mango con chili y limon. I didn’t make it home before eating the entire thing! I’ll be back for sure.

NEVER again am i coming back here. It’s ridiculous to have to wait in line for over 30min when there is no one ahead of you. These damn teens that they have here are too busy on their phones or chit chatting with their friends or giving away whatever their friends want… to actually service the paying customers. Finally got my mangonadas and it’s all meltes… why the hell did they not give it to me when they brought it out of the freezer… because they don’t have customer service guidance that’s why!

I absolutely LOVE this place! I have never been to a snow cone place with this many flavor as well as such a large selection of snacks. Nothing quite like eating artery clogging snacks a cool snow cone on a hot day to happily ruin your dinner appetite.

I been here twice and both of the experiences has been bad. First time, it was during rush hours — waited about 45minutes before we actually got our snow cones. I had to throw mine away because I found a bug flowing on the side of the cup. Second time I went there was not during rush hours, but you still have to wait for it for about 30 minutes. Their food/snack isn’t bad but the snow cones are meant for extremely hot sunny day. They usually make you wait for a long time in the heat to be sure you’re satisfied with the snow cones to cool you down. That’s why it taste so good once you get it.

I didn’t try to snow cone, but I should have. Instead I got the spicy mango, which was great. Just wasn’t expecting for it to be so juicy! Other than that, took about 8 minutes to receive. Not sold on if it’s better than Red Wagon or not. Will do an update soon.

There’s a hella long wait for this place so go at non rush hour times. BUTSOWORTHTHEWAIT. Long lines just means good ass food. I recommend mango ice with chamoyada. Their corn in a cup is to die for. The workers are so nice and their shit is genuine.

Best place to get a snow cone. With over 100 flavored that all taste delicious. I highly recommend the corn in the cup because it is the best. I get it every time I go there and get a snow cone the ice is so smooth and I’ve never had a crunchy piece of ice in my snow one. If you think the snow cones at the ball park is good try these and your mind will be blown and you’ll be asking how they make their snow cones so good.

This is a cute little red barn with inefficient kids that take forever to put ice and syrup in a styrofoam cup. During the summer in Texas heat, anyone would have an itch fit waiting for their snow cone. If you didn’t know, Bahama Bucks just opened in Sugar Land so I have no need to come back to Ice Barn. Indoor, air conditioning, speedier service. Located at University and New Territory. You’re welcome.

It’s so deliciously inexpensive ! Had a banana split and tried mango and cream soda snocones. Next time will try the food. It gets packed but they’re pretty quick. Definitely coming back

Large selection of flavors & toppings! It’s a hidden gem since we don’t really have many places like this in our side of town. There is a wait so prepare. But for those cheap prices I would still return. Tip to make them moo!

Be prepared to wait forever! I came to try the mango snow cone with chili powder on it & the corn in a cup(elote.) Was the food at the end good? Eh, nothing special. It’s just a place with special snow cones(drowned in syrup) and elote. Was the experience good? NOTATALL! I mean I didn’t think waiting for ice to shaved would take 40 minutes! Especially in this Texas heat, it felt like forever. Not only was the wait long, after finally getting the snow cones, I had to wait extra minutes to even get my corn in a cup because they just forgot… What? Making me wait, then making me wait some more? Oh ice barn, 1 star is being generous, I mean, you kind of ruined my Sunday just a tad bit. Needless to say, I will not be returning!

Oh, Houston. Hot, humid, heartless Houston. I try to escape your sweltering grasp, but you’re everywhere — you ambush me as soon as I step out of my apartment, you suffocate me in my car, you’ve even taken over my electric bill. Evil SOB. But I’ve recently found solace in snow-cones. Here at The Ice Barn, I can cool down under their shaded outdoor patio and enjoy a nice, cool snow-cone… and all you can do is wither in your own humiliating defeat. [insert evil laugh] I absolutely love The Ice Barn for a few main reasons: 1. Shaded patio, as mentioned above 2. 100+ snow-cone flavors(yes, you can mix ‘n match!) 3. Several toppings: cream, but also spicy chili powder or salt + lime 4. A menu that extends beyond just snow-cones; they also serve banana split sundaes, nachos, hot dogs, corn-in-a-cup, hot Cheetos in cheese(is it bad that I actually want to try this???), and other«carnival-esque» staples Parking isn’t much of a problem since they have their own dirt lot, but lines tend to get pretty long. They have a few umbrellas to help shade their customers as they wait, but as we all know, shade doesn’t really help when it comes to unforgiving humidity. If The Ice Barn could find a way to get their line moving faster, they’d definitely get 5 stars out of me; unfortunately, since they can only fit one smiling face in that small little window of theirs, I don’t see that happening. However, when you finally get to that ordering window, the employees are nice, they do accept credit card($ 5 minimum), and they actually«moo» when you tip them! …not to mention that blast of A/C feels like freaken ice-cold heaven. For a $ 2 – 3 small-size snow-cone, The Ice Barn reeeeally piles on the goods, but you best dig in quickly — within minutes, my mound of snow-cone was starting to melt down the sides of the cup. It gets crazy messy. I usually go for mango + cream or watermelon + cream, and my man’s Tiger Blood(essentially different berry flavors) wasn’t bad either. Needless to say, now that we’re in the fiery pit of summer, all I can think about are snow-cones. I am a woman OBSESSED. The Ice Barn’s going to be seeing me pretty often.
