I’m sad to say that Pei Wei didn’t do very well tonight. The food was the same as always but the place was dirty and run down. Paint is peeled and scratched on the front door, tables not bussed, cleared tables not wiped or cleaned, and floor sticky. Needs a buck up.

This place is nasty. There’s flies around our booth flying around our food. It’s very unpleasant when you have to swat your hand around your face when you’re trying to eat. What happened to this place? It went down the drain in cleanliness.

Pei Wei is a great place to go when you’re in the mood for a quick and tasty meal. I like to get the same thing every time just because it’s so good– honey chicken with a side of crab wontons. I love the wontons here so much! They’re stuffed with cream cheese, crab meat, and bell pepper. YUM! The wontons are oddly priced– $ 1.99 for 2, $ 3.89 for 4, or $ 5.99 for 8. You’ll save a few cents if you get 4. The Kung Pao chicken isn’t bad, either! I’m taking one star off for inconsistent food portions. Sometimes you get a generous amount with your entrée and sometimes you don’t. We’ve ordered takeout from here a few times and it seems like the takeout portions are a bit more generous. Their to go service is also extremely quick!

Two bad experiences in a row and within a matter of weeks makes for a bad review and unhappy customers. Tonight the service was appalling and just plain rude. Requests for extra chop sticks ignored, to go order wrong and Luke warm, and the quality of the food has taken a nose dive. The honey seared chicken has been disgusting for the last couple times we’ve gotten food there. Tough, stringy, chewy bad quality chicken. Not a happy camper here!

I used to frequent Pei Wei in college when I needed a cheap and calorie dense meal that wasn’t a burger. I developed a taste for their fried rice, crab wontons, and Kung Pao chicken that I never shook off. This Pei Wei follows the general formula: fast casual that’s nicer than Panda Express but not quite a restaurant. Pei Wei has tweaked their menu a lot over the last few years, and I like where it’s at. From the Wok Classics(meat or veggies cooked in your selected style), you can order a small or «regular» entrée(once upon a time, lunch and dinner sizes) — trust me, small is sufficient for the average person trying not to overeat. It used to come with a cup of soup; now I just tack it on by itself. I also shell out the extra buck to get fried rice. They dropped it off at my table in a timely manner. The one«ew» moment was when I figured out my cup of wonton soup had another cup stuck to the bottom, and it had filled with dirty dishwater… Gross, although it never touched my food. Their wonton soup is pretty different and I like a bowl every now and then. I’ve never tried the sushi; they’re nothing terribly adventurous(but then, neither is Kung Pao chicken, I guess…).

We ordered online, checkout… Get to restaurant, no order! My 1st and last experience here! Ordered again at restaurant. Pretty quick! Get home and eat. Ok food, nothing special. What was special is my wife and I running to the bathroom all night with explosive diarrhea! Avoid food here!!!

I come to this restaurant at least once a week. Over the past few visits I have noticed that there is always new faces — the folks working tonight are great … hopefully they stay. The mongolian chicken was superb and the sweet & sour chicken was cooked perfectly The supervisor on duty, Mike, was very friendly and attentive not to mention extremely efficient

Pei Wei is a great chain restaurant. I used to love to come to this location when I lived nearby, about 4 years ago. I’ve since moved away and was in the area and figured I’d stop by my old«go-to» restaurant. It wasn’t quite what I remembered. I walked in and could see that there were a lot of tables that were dirty and the floor has food everywhere. It wasn’t quite as clean as I remembered. I ordered my food and sat at one of the few clean tables I could find. Before my food came a gnat flew by. As soon as my food came the gnat came back. This little pesky gnat bothered me the entire time I ate. I was constantly shooing this thing away. I looked around to see if it was just me that was getting harassed by this pesky bug. Nope, it wasn’t just me. I saw a guy at another table shooing it away as well. It looked like we were the only two in the place that were flailing our hands constantly. So, I don’t know if it was the same gnat or whether there was more than one. It doesn’t really matter. What matters is the cleanliness of this establishment. It looks as if the management doesn’t place a lot of emphasis on cleanliness. Please clean this place up and do something about the gnats. Oh, by the way, I ordered the Kung Pao chicken. It was good as usual but a bit saltier than I remember it. Maybe it’s because of the gnats!

I love how clean and open it is and so many menus around you once you walk in and a giant menu to order quickly and get seated. It’s Made when ordered, I wish the sauce for the lo mein dish was a little thicker. They Have little Chinese takeout boxes where the drinks are. I find the orange peel chicken taste like hoisin sauce not sure if I would order it again. I will definitely come back and try out the other dishes.

The food is good but very salty and buttery so tell them lite. Also if you come in an hour before close just forget about good customer service. The front desk is just absolutely rude. Also I saw my food ready sitting on the bar for about 15 minutes with employees just sitting around.

Love the food. Hate the service. Took over 30 minutes for some lettuce wraps! No apology!

I placed an order for take-out from here and the service was very quick and the food was great. I ordered chicken pad Thai noodles, kung pao chicken, vegetarian Thai dynamite, 2 different soups(everything was regular sized) and I paid $ 36. You can’t beat that for good quality Chinese take-out! I love eating at PF Chang’s but for a quick fix, Pei Wei is a great spot!

Fair warning — Some of the dishes that we’ve had here have been very, very salty, to the point where it’s hard to eat. However, today the food wasn’t too salty, which was good. — Mongolian — 4 stars: We asked for«less sauce» — this turned out to be a great decision, because the dish came out with just the right amount of flavor. With the default amount of sauce, it might’ve been too salty. — Pad thai — 3 stars: The spice level is medium, but I didn’t think it was very good. Too much spice, too little sweetness, perhaps. — Coconut curry — 3 stars: Medium level spice, but there wasn’t nearly enough curry liquid to go with the amount of rice they give you.

Sometime you just need a quick Asian fix and it’s hard to beet pei Wei. Rarely disappointed when we go and would normally give 4 – 5 stars. This trip we had our normal pork egg rolls and split the Kung pao chicken. Main dish was good but egg rolls were Luke warm and dripping with grease. Still tasted ok but a little disappointed this time around. Still love me some pei Wei.

My husband and I love this place and frequent it often however, the last few times we have been we have not been pleased with the cleanliness. We were there last week and the tables were poorly cleaned, there was trash on the floor but the worst part was the drink station. It was wet and sticky with trash all over the area and when I went to get my fork they were all stuck together with old food on them. We are sad because they have great food, but I like seeing a clean and kept up place.

This is a good place to grab a quick bite if you’re in the mood for some Asian food. The menu isn’t huge but it’s pretty decent. We ended up getting a bowl of the hot and sour soup and shared an entrée of Pei Wei Spicy Chicken. The food came out about 5 minutes later so we were pleasantly surprised by the lack of wait time since we were starving. The soup was nice but sort of lacked flavor. That being said –the soy sauce and chilli paste came in handy, which made it better. The flavor of the chicken was great but it wasn’t spicy at all! It was more on the sweet side. The chicken itself tasted like microwavable chicken. if that makes sense. The brown rice we got with it was extremely dry and unappetizing. Overall, we’ll probably come again if we’re in the mood for a quick asian food fix. We’ll be trying something else next time. Hopefully the chicken and rice taste better! Before I forget — their soda machine is very cool! TONS of options to choose from and tons of ways to customize your soft drinks!

I work near this location, so it’s a great place to «pick up» lunch when I forget mine at home. I can usually just place an order online, designate a pick up time and place, and then drive over. They are so prompt and consistently efficient that I know — door to door– from my office to Pei Wei and back(barring any traffic issues) I can make it an even 30 minutes. They always have my order correct, ready, and warm. It’s not bad for sit down meals either. It’s just busy during lunch. I’m not a fan of chains, mainly because we live in Houston(home of awesome food choices), but this one measures up. If you’re stuck in Sugar Land, then go find Pei Wei :-)

Pei Wei serves up some pretty decent food. It’s a chain, yes, but it’s one of the better and more consistent chains. The food itself is good or better depending on what you order. The teriyaki chicken, dumplings and of course the lettuce wraps shine. Teriyaki chicken is tender chunks of white meat cooked nicely without being dry or fatty. The teriyaki sauce is sweet-savory goodness. Lettuce wraps are deleicious start to the meal: Diced chicken and water chestnuts and scallions in a well seasoned sauce with crisp little noodles(rice noodles, I think), that you place in a leaf of lettuce, roll up and devour happily. The honey seared crispy chicken is delicious without being overly sweet for an entrée. It has just the right balance to it between sweetness and spice. The Kung-Pao chicken has gotten raves from my friends. My favorite is the Hunan beef. It’s always tender, never stringy, flavorful. and has a very good sauce. The fact that you can get your dishes with brown rice(LOVE brown rice) is a plus for me. The restaurant is clean and I’ve always had friendly service. The to-go orders I’ve placed have always been ready on time and correct. Is it authentic Chinese? No, but Pei Wei is good nonetheless and they make it work.

Ah yes, P.F. Chang’s more casual little sister — similarly chain-like in appearance and demeanor. While this might not be the most phenomenal gastronomical adventure(it’s status quo Asian food after all), as I vegan, I rather appreciate this place. Format — order your appetizers and entrees, receive a number, grab a table, wait for your order to arrive. The offerings mostly consist of a type of rice or noodle dish with your choice of meats and tofu — which means for me, a lot of options. P.F. Chang’s does have a decent amount of vegetarian menu items and I’m sure you could easily ask them to modify their meat dishes to be vegetarian, but Pei Wei makes it all the simpler and I am down with that. Of course I will note that the tofu offered is the pathetic firm mostly tasteless dry variety(at Asian markets) and they’re not always so generous with the tofu portion. However tasteless is something Pei Wei is not — dare I say they are a little TOO intense with the sodium levels. I suppose it’s a stereotype that Americans love their food extremely salty, but it’s a little overboard at times. I like the super casual factor here. Sometimes I’m quite the interactive/busy body person so I actually like fetching my own drinks/refills, utensils whenever I immediately need them. No need to rely on a frazzled and frenzied server. .. I’m totally down. In all honesty, this is probably more like a three star kind of place, but I’ve always been pleased with the affordable prices and large portions. Like I said, they need to chill with the sodium content and the offerings are pretty run of the mill. But I guess I’m mostly thrilled about the many vegan/vegetarian options at a popular chain restaurant.
