Your dentist letting you know you need a gum graft is no bueno. I was referred to Dr. Dyer by my parents many years ago. When I switched to him for my periodontal needs, I was impressed by the friendliness of his staff and how fine tuned the office ran. I can’t say much about the procedure because I was completely knocked out but I do know that I did heal nicely. Then you leave with a pint of ice cream, mouth rinses, and sprays to go home and heal. Dr. Dyer will do a post-op where he «lasers» the area — not sure what it does but it helps the healing. Overall, nobody wants a gum graft and nobody likes reading reviews about gum grafts. If you need one though, Dr. Dyer(and his awesome staff) will take care of you.

I had a «crown lengthening» procedure on a front tooth several years ago and Dr. Dyer was fantastic! My gumline was uneven due to my front tooth being broken as a child and the procedure was done under light sedation with Dr. Dyer being humorous while he worked. Close to finishing he said, «Now I’m going to call in the most critical woman on my staff to judge.» She looked down at me and said, «I think the gum needs a little more trimming» and he continued to work until she was happy with it. A couple years later the gum seemed to want to reclaim it’s former territory so he trimmed some more and it’s been perfect ever since. I’m always happy to recommend another perfectionist.
