Had the Croque Madam and it was great. Don’t rely on the mentioned side though since those were skimpy. Thankfully the main meal was VERY filling and delicious. They have maple everything for accoutrements so be sure to sample the lot! My friends who got the buttermilk pancakes were very happy. As well.

Absolutely, without a doubt, the best breakfast I’ve had. This place was recommended to me by someone on Reddit, and I couldn’t be happier with my choice to make sure I called at least an hour ahead to get my seat reserved! As my girlfriend and I arrived, we took a quick look around the packed gift shop before being ushered out to our seat. We were immediately greeted by our server who brought the infamous ‘Maple Tray’, and rattled through what to expect for our first visit. The servers all make the pancakes themselves, and gun through those things with a speed I’ve never seen! I got a sampler plate of three pancakes(gingerbread, cornmeal and oatmeal buttermilk), eggs, sausage and toast, while my girlfriend got Sugar Bill’s Breakfast, with a single chocolate chip oatmeal buttermilk pancake. The food was amazing, filling, and so, so tasty. My girlfriend had picked up one of the biscuits with the bacon maple glaze, and my mouth is watering just thinking about it! So tasty, so rich and so so memorable. I tried out one of their signature drinks, the Maple Steamer(maple syrup with steamed milk) and couldn’t believe how tasty it was, thinking it was going to be overpoweringly sweet. The pancakes are small– little 3in discs that are almost half that in thickness, and I couldn’t be happier. I usually like to think that I’m able to put away a decent portion if I’m hungry, but these little guys beat me. I wanted to order a whole another plate and take it home with me, but since I was in a hotel this weekend, I knew our love couldn’t be so. But, it just means I’ll have to make it a point to come out here in September during the Highland Games. Polly’s is a great place that really can’t be missed. I absolutely guarantee that if you make the trip out there for it, you’ll leave happy, satisfied, and full. Just make sure you call at least an hour in advance. ;)

My favorite breakfast place in NH. I always stop here for food when I’m in the mountains. If you haven’t been here you are missing out! Try the cornbread coconut pancakes!

This is one of my most favorite places on earth! We visit whenever we can because it’s fun, unique and the food is well worth the drive! We call ahead so we’re able to get a table shortly after we arrive. I always get the pancake combo to try as many combinations of pancakes and add-ins as possible(well, without ordering an additional meal), and they are incredible! I am in awe of the servers because they are so friendly, quick and thorough. The servers actually cook the pancakes, and, if you order the combo, they bring out the second serving shortly after you finish the first so they’re warm… I love this place. It will always be special to me because one way I’ve kept track of my kids growing up is by taking a picture of them with the pony every time we visit(they’re starting to get annoyed by that… the kids, not Polly’s as far as I know).

Not my favorite place — seemed kind of touristy. Staff was kind and all were friendly. Pancakes were good — but the poached eggs and toast I ordered left a lot to be desired. A plus was the espresso drinks — usually hard to find at diners in the area.

Worth a two-hour drive.(Well, ok, we have to be going up that way for something else, too, but PPP is first stop!). I want to know if anyone who likes Polly’s can recommend a place of similar quality, style in southern Vt.

My family and I ate here for breakfast and absolutely loved it. Great, fast service and delicious food! Would highly recommend to anyone! You have to try the pancakes, of course and my brother got eggs Benedict which tasted awesome. Can’t wait to go again next time we are in town. Their homemade maple spread and syrup are also amazing!

WHERE do we start. We were up north for the Ice Castles staying in the middle of nowhere 2÷26−2÷28÷16 and searched Unilocal for breakfast spots. Polly’s had the most reviews and tons of positive feedbacks so we decided to try it on a whim. We were shocked when we drove up and the place was large with tons of parking! We didn’t realize it was quite as popular as it was. There was a 20 minute wait when we got there so we explored their gift shop and waited. Once seated our waitress came right over to acknowledge us and let us know she had another order to tend to and would be right over. She happily explained how their menu worked and told us to «have fun with in». They are known for their pancakes and basically you order by selecting your batter type, then your filling. So many options! We went with a few combos: oatmeal buttermilk w/banana, plain w/blueberries, gingerbread, plain w/chocolate chips, oatmeal buttermilk w/coconut and a cornmeal w/blueberries. We also ordered a side of Polly’s Potatoes– which are sliced potatoes sautéed in butter– OMG– to die for! And for meat we tried the chicken apple sausage. We finished it ALL. So delicious!!! We tried to go back on Sunday and utilized their recommended«call ahead» feature– but when we called from the hotel there was already a TWOHOUR wait! If we weren’t heading out of town that day we would have hung out and waited– it was that yummy! This place is a MUSTTRY if you are in the Whites!

This is a very nice spot! I had the pancake sampler(2 plain, 2 blueberry, 2 coconut). They were delicious, some of the best pancakes I’ve ever had! Perfect size too. The manfriend had Irish eggs Benedict and they were also very delicious. Our server was very pleasant and friendly. We cane on a Friday early morning and the place was pretty empty but I can see this place full on a Saturday/Sunday morning. We will come back for sure.

Went there an hour before closing and still had a great meal. Pancakes were amazing, eggs florentine was excellent and the hash was good too. Only reason im giving 4 stars is because of the prices. $ 56.00 for breakfast items for 2 adults and one child. Glad we tried it but wont be going back anytime soon.

My fiancé and I came here in the early afternoon on a Sunday. Thankfully it wasn’t crowded and we were seated immediately. He ordered the pancake sampler in which he chose from various batter/add-in combinations(i.e., oatmeal walnut, buttermilk blueberry, etc.) and received 3 pancakes first then the last 3 pancakes after the first serving was finished, so that the pancakes were made fresh and were served warm. He loved the pancakes with shredded coconut in them, so good! I ordered a combo which came with 3 pancakes of my choice, eggs any style, and choice of meat. Overall the breakfasts are a good value and I would return just for those yummy pancakes! Waiter was kind of difficult to track down at times and it wasn’t that busy. When he did come over he would talk directly over my food which I wasn’t pleased with.

Grabbed lunch here based on a recommendation from a friend who lived in the area. It’s a little outside of the main street, but it’s a large place and good to bring a group to, especially if you have kids. While we got a number of items from the kids menu, we also ordered the grilled reuben, Kathie’s salad, Polly’s burger. I would say the food was ok and felt the breakfast items were better than the lunch options. My friend’s florentine eggs benedict looked really good. Service here was nice and the open floor plan made it easy to walk around.

It is definitely our«go to» place whenever we make a trip out to New Hampshire. Delicious Pancakes and if you haven’t been there yet– you HAVE to go. Move over«IHOP». It has been newly renovated and it looks amazing. Delicious.

So, we’re on our anniversary long weekend trip. We need some breakfast and Polly’s pops up right on our way to the rest of the things we’re planning. One star for being in the right place. Then we go in and ask for a table. The hostess asks if we have reservations. Um… I don’t usually make reservations for breakfast on a Thursday. She says it’s fine, she has a table. Yeah, one right in the middle of the room next to the griddle. No A/C mind you either. So now we ask if we could please be seated by the windows. Nope — those are reserved. Oh, and it is noisy and service is slow. Food was good. Bathroom was very clean. Two stars for that. The food isn’t great enough to overcome the lack of ambiance, dumb seating arrangements, and slow service. Probably won’t go there again.

Make a reservation! It was 3 hours by the time we ate. We called ahead and it still took a while. Lots of parking. Small gift shop area with treats and t-shirts. The place was recently renovated but they have major table layout issues. They have much wasted space between tables. They could have easily fit 10 more tables of four. This could help with the wait. They have benches outside where you can enjoy summer weather. While waiting I ordered their Café Du Jour– White Chocolate Raspberry. I originally requested their Maple Coffee but they only serve the coffee of the day. They served the coffee in a New England Coffee branded cup. I was hoping for the brand they sold. It hardly tasted like anything that resembled raspberry. But they only charged me 99 cents so she got my ordered wrong since it should have been 2.99 for the coffee of the day. However the nice lady offered not to charge for the coffee. Our server was upbeat and most friendly. Awesome attitude. We ordered quickly since we had a few hours to memorize the menu. We ordered 2 Kathie Combos. Both with eggs over easy, sausage, bacon, 3 pancakes each. One plate had the Cornmeal batter with Coconut. The other was Oatmeal Buttermilk with Blueberries. An additional order of Oatmeal Buttermilk with Chocolate Chips. The pancakes are 3 inches in diameter. Sounds small but they are enough. Your server will make your pancakes. An interesting concept. Cornmeal with Coconut was like eating moist cornbread and coconut shavings did was not overwhelming and provided additional crunch to cornmeal. Oatmeal Buttermilk with Blueberries was a bit gritty from the oatmeal by still fluffy with an explosion of blueberry in certain spots. Oatmeal Buttermilk with Chocolate Chips was like eating the best oatmeal cookie but with chocolate instead of raisins. The sausage was delicious, juicy savory disc of meat. It took awhile to get our food once we sat and we pretty much ordered immediately. Our server stated the pancakes only take 4 minutes to create. The wait is on the other items fixed by staff in the back. They several employees standing around in this busy restaurant and everyone seems to move in a snail’s space. I’m used to seeing everyone hustle especially when there is volume of customers. There were several inefficiencies in their processes which I hope they fix to alleviate wait time and turnover more customers.

The BEST place to eat if you want amazing, whole, non processed incredible food! When we are in New Hampshire, no matter where we are staying in the White Mountains, we eat at Polly’s every morning. The pancakes are incredible!!! Another great thing about Polly’s is the staff. They make you feel welcome, like you are part of their family. Always call ahead to put your name on their list so you don’t have to wait too long. Before I knew to call ahead we would happily wait an hour or more for their delicious food! We love Polly’s and I bet you will too!

One of my favorite meals while on vacation in Northern NH. Bookmarked the place based on rating only and read about it once we got there. Off the beaten track and we still had a wait when we arrived. Had the pancake sampler. I chose three different pancakes one better than the next. They brought out one of each type, gave me a chance to eat up and then returned with three more piping hot cakes. I’m not a «pancake guy» and yet this place may have changed my mind. Wish it were closer.

New dining area added much needed room. Since I was alone I was able to sit at the counter and did not wait at all. The service was quick and polite. The special was strawberry pancakes and they were hot and testy! The practice here of serving them three at a time means you aren’t eating cold pancakes. The coffee was good as well the sausage patties. Great breakfast for $ 15 + tip. It is worth the trip. The only nit to pick is the parking area isn’t paved making it not as friendly for motorcycles as it could be.

The newly renovated and re-opened Polly’s Pancake Parlor is a real let-down after the original. With a few changes, the new generation of owners could regain a lot of ground that they’ve lost — and I really hope they do. I’ve been going to Polly’s for decades, and it was a beloved restaurant, worth driving hours for. No longer. The original food is still great — the cornmeal waffles, buckwheat pancakes, maple-sugar cured bacon, ham and sausage(but not the scrambled eggs). You can still get a variety of pancake/waffle mixes, and add a variety of fruit etc. And there are now many more items on the menu for lunch … but Polly’s is all about breakfast. One thing that used to be good, but is now TERRIBLE — the scrambled eggs. They now come with lots of added water, and have been mixed in a blender — they are over-aerated, and taste like cafeteria eggs. They are AWFUL. It’s hard to screw scrambled eggs up, but they’ve managed. Fortunately, the pancakes, waffles, sausage and bacon are all still good. And they should be able to fix the scrambled egg problem easily. The first real disappointment is the menu(and this is something they could fix so easily if they wanted to). Except for the standard pancake combo, everything is a-la-carte. Waffles have been de-emphasized. You can get them — at $ 7 each. No more multiple waffles with eggs a side of ham or bacon in a fixed price combo — now each of those items is a-la-carte. You can still get a pancake combo(eggs, bacon, ham or sausage, three + three more pancakes), but gone is the all-you-can eat combo. While the pancake combo is a reasonable value, waffles are not. My personal breakfast consisted of two waffles, bacon, scrambled eggs and Earl Grey tea. It came to an astounding $ 26.43 before tip. That’s a lot for breakfast. I have to say, I understand why the old structure needed to be replaced — as quaint and beautiful as it was, it was too small, and hard to heat(and no air conditioning). The new setup is an homage to the old, and inside, they did a credible job. It certainly adds more space, and modern conveniences like a computerized point-of-sale system with itemized receipts. The second disappointment is the atmosphere, which has taken a real step for the worse — I wish they’d used more of the old timbers and siding, kept more of the character. But the inside is A-OK, even if not using as much of the old wood and historical items as I would have liked. The third disappointment is the landscaping — the exterior is awful — utterly lacking in charm. The façade of the building is industrial(if acknowledging the old design), but the landscaping is mall-like. From quaint plantings, grass and trees(including a tree with family history), and beautiful landscaping(see the pictures in old Unilocal reviews here) to the new large parking lot with mall-style lighting and brown bark — Yuck. No longer is there a pleasant visual path from the inside of the restaurant across the grounds to Mt Lafayette — now one sees parking lot and power lines, with mountains in the background. No longer is there a place for children to play while waiting to be seated. One more thing: Since Unilocal!post pictures in chronological order(at least until they’ve gotten helpful votes), you need to go to the latest pictures(at the end) to see what it looks like now. Most of the pictures of the restaurant(but not the food) are now out of date.
