Really love Zach’s. Quiet, cute place — very relaxing ambiance. The menu is huge. Food is great(eggplant parm is awesome), rolls(as everyone mentions) are amazing — less cheese lately, but amazing). Service is great. It’s just one of those places that you can count on to be good. It is a bit pricey, but the portions are big enough for a 2nd meal(on the larger sizes). Park on the street!

RIP. Always good, the ONLY place we ever order in from for delivery. Oh how we will miss it!!!

Holds a special place in my heart. Working in the 10ucp building for years, this was one of the several places that delivered in the area. We all loved it – their chicken vegetable soup, turkey chopped salad, lasagna, pizzas, and their baileys cheesecake were amazing. Plus the free cheesy garlic rolls with every meal! Such a sad day when we realized they closed, pretty much without warning. They will be sorely missed

My friend dragged me here a few weeks ago. I had never really heard much about it so I went in with no expectations. The place looks like a tiny house. Their outdoor patio area looks like my cousins backyard. The food was not very good. It tasted like bad Italian home cooked meal. I got the pasta with the tomato basil sauce. The sauce was SUPER watered down and barely had any flavor. The décor of the place is pretty bad as well– desperately need to be renovated. Only nice thing I have to say is the bread they bring out is really yum. Probably not coming back here. Ever.

Great food, good service — one of my fave little hideaways. Their lasagnas, rolls, and filet of sole were delish. Too bad it’s now closed except for catering. R.I.P., Zach’s.

Man. I love this place. No crowds. No snobby hostesses. It’s great. Food is great. One of the larger menu’s with a variety that spans from the meat lovers to the vegaterians. I have been coming here for years. NOW…they are closing their doors. So upset. Apparently it’s going to be Sun Café that moving into here. Great for them to be growing but they fact it’s all Vegan come next Monday… just PAINSME. I just… idk…can’t return to this place that was once a secret diamond that is now turning into a vegetable. damn vegans are taking over. It’s horrible.

I have been here twice now and love it! The portions are huge and the garlic/cheese rolls are sooooooo yummy! Service has been great both times. It’s a nice, hideaway spot in the valley for sure. I’ll be coming back :)

I’ve had some of their stuff at parties where they catered the food. Their pasta is very good. But, I went to the restaurant and ordered some the filet of sole. The fish was really nothing special. The main thought I had was, «I can make this better myself at home.» The bed of mushroom rice was nice, but the capers overpowered it. The only thing that surprised me was the thin cut fries. They were very good. It would be even better if they added some truffle oil to it. I like the place, but it just depends on what you order. I’ll stick to their pasta from now on.

Pretty decent food here. Been a few times and the food is pretty much as expected for a local Italian joint. The garlic cheese rolls are addicting for sure but try not to load up on them if you plan on finishing your entrée. They do make a nice complement to pasta dishes however. The lunch combos are a good value. I’ve gotten spaghetti, chicken parmesan, mushroom ravioli and pizza. All were pretty solid. Not spectacular but good. Last time I was there, I went with a coworker. We sat outside in the cozy al fresco dining area out front. The back to her chair was busted so she ended up having to grab a different one from the table next to us. She also found a hair in her salad. It was replaced with apologies. The dressing for my salad was a pain in the rear to pour out so I ended up having to unscrew the top off the pourer to get it out. Minor inconvenience. Service is above average I’d say.

Zach’s is a bit hard to find, but they have a decent parking lot. Hey, FREE Valet! Speaking of free, their garlic rolls are free and they are AMAZING! If it is your first time, try the Adam’s Baby Greens Salad and the Goat Cheese & Mushroom Lasagna… always a hit… always delicious. They also have a dog friendly patio and heaters!

It’s all about the bread rolls! This place also has great Italian food to go with those rolls, but one bite of those rolls and you’ll know why this is all I wrote.

Love their lunch special. The lunch prices start off $ 9.95 and lower for a main dish and choice of side. I got the lobster ravioli and it IS very lobstery. Even though it came with tree pieces for some reason it was filling. Must get their famous garlic cheese rolls. They offer complimentary valet also.

Nice cosy little Italian spot in Studio City. Place can be hard to find since the first thing you see when you drive by is the parking lot and then the restaurant is in the back. I had the sneaky six I believe which is baked penne with chicken sausage. I got the full portion and it was a lot of food for me. It was really good I enjoyed it a lot had a lot of flavor penne was cooked perfectly and the chicken sausage was good. The cheese was nice and stringy which is very important to me when eating baked pasta. I also tried a slice of their pizza which I liked a lot. Pizza had lots of flavor and the crust was nice and crunchy in a very good way. Their cheese bread is really good too! I almost got half full just by eating the bread. The staff here is very friendly and very easy to talk to as well as personable.

This is another place that I always walk by, so I checked out the reviews which were decent, and my friend and I ordered takeout. Maybe this is a place that you just have to dine in at, because I was not impressed. One plus however, is that they give you free cheese bread rolls, which are awesome because… well…who doesn’t love free things? They weren’t cheesy enough for me, but stretchy enough that I was happy with them. I ordered a caprese salad and the friend ordered a chicken marsala. Meh. I’m a huge mozzarella and caprese fan, and this was nothing special. Do not order. It was heavily covered in balsamic, when it should have been covered in olive oil and basil. It was on a bed of arugala. The tomatoes didn’t even look fresh. A mess. I repeat, do not order their caprese. My friend liked the chicken marsala but then again he’s not as big of a food snob as I am, and personally I didn’t think it looked appetizing at all. There’s a separate room you have to go into for take out so I have no idea how the rest of the restaurant looks, unfortunately. It looked like to me they had a valet lot, so make sure you street park if you come here. Honestly, I’d rather go to a chain Italian restaurant to get a good solid meal than Zach’s. In LA you have the luxury of a ton of great Italian restaurants to choose from, and Zach’s doesn’t stand out. I haven’t been able to judge their pasta or pizzas yet, so I can’t judge entirely, but from my experience, I’d definitely pass.

A little disappointed that the waiter let us order garlic cheese bread knowing full well that a basket of magical bread rolls with a hint of cheese would be brought out not more than 5 minutes later(and there were only 2 of us). These complimentary rolls were perfection… the garlic cheese bread? Ugh, not so much. I thought my dish(the baked penne) lacked character. It wasn’t even heavy like I had secretly hoped, it was just boggled down with ricotta cheese. Not even the rolls could bring this dish to life. Ho hum goes the hungry girl. I would go back for those rolls though. Yes I would. Note for vegetarians: they do have an entire page catered to vegetarian dishes.

I could give Zach’s a 3 because had we paid the full menu price of about 65.00 including tax and tip, I would have felt I didn’t get my moneys worth. Or I could give them a 5 star rating because I met the incredibly cool Unilocaler Lucy Y. and had a great evening. But the facts are Lucy found a discount, and we got out of their for $ 40.00. And Lucy would be equally as cool at Urasawa or Quizno’s instead, so I am not going to give Zach credit for her company either. Zach’s gets a 4 largely because of the Shrimp Risotto in Lobster Sauce and the wonderful waitress Cheyenne. Cheyenne was always there when we needed her, never obtrusive and very helpful with suggestions. If I owned a competing restaurant, I would have given her a job offer on the spot. As for my Shrimp Risotto, the lobster sauce is what made the dish, it was a nice think cream sauce with mushrooms and shallots. The risotto rice was cooked to perfection. And while the shrimp were good, this dish would have worked well without them. Of course as Unilocalers usually do; I gave Lucy part of my meal and she shared some of hers. Lucy go the better end of this trade; I found her Chicken Sun Dried Tomatoes rather average. We also had Toasted Onion Battered Green Beans for an appetizer. In this case I think toasted may have meant fried. The first few beans were enjoyable, when dipped in the ranch dressing, but then again my fork is enjoyable too after I dip it in ranch. they also served a warm marinara dip that didn’t quite work as a dip at all. Another thing these don’t hold their temperature well, they were served nice and hot, bur lost their temperature quickly, and we never finished the last few. Valet parking is three dollars and is necessary only because the lot is so small they have to double park on busy nights. Lucy and I found meters right out front and saved $ 3.00 each

I hear Zach’s has been around for a long time and has a pretty good reputation. So I came here for dinner with the Unilocalstar of all food truck lists — Bill C! Being the food geek that I am, I studied up on the menu beforehand, and was impressed to see seafood, chicken, pasta, burgers, pizza, and even vegetarian and veggie chicken dishes on the menu. I arrived just before 8pm and almost pulled into the convenient parking lot — til I spotted the $ 3 valet charge and the(free after 8pm) meters right out front. Parking on this Thursday night was super easy — yay! Our server Cheyenne was adorable and super attentive throughout our meal. Thanks to a $ 2 for $ 25 certificate, our entire meal(with tip) cost $ 40. What a deal! Here’s what we had: Decaf and soda Garlic rolls with whipped butter — the rolls were super soft and warm, doughy on the inside and only barely less doughy on the outside. They were barely garlicky — only on the tops really. My niece who only ate the doughy parts of bread through age 12 would have LIVED on these things with the soft, salted butter! I would have liked them to be WAY more garlicky. Toasted Onion Battered Green Beans($ 7.50) — served with both Ranch and warm marinara, these were like skinny zucchini sticks in taste. Really, barely a vegetable anymore because of the deep fried, batter-dipped state! A yummy starter. Chicken Sun Dried Tomatoes($ 16) — thanks to the menu option that Cheyenne pointed out for me, I ordered this with high protein pasta(corkscrew shapes) instead of the angel hair that it usually comes with. I also requested alfredo sauce instead of the creamy white wine sauce that it usually comes with. Niether substitution was an issue — nice! Chunks of white meat chicken and sundried tomatoes were served over the top of the corkscrew pasta, with a light alfredo sauce. I thought that the alfredo could have been thicker and richer — it felt like a light sauce, which made the dish feel healthier — but took away from my enjoyment of it somewhat. I had a bout of food remorse when I tried Bill C’s dish: Shrimp Risotto w/Lobster Sauce($ 20) — a nicely cooked, creamy risotto, with a generous portion of plump, cooked perfectly and still-pink shrimp. TOTAL comfort food! This was one of two shrimp risotto dishes on the menu, and I’m going to guess that they are both this yummy. We checked out the dessert menu and though the house made tiramisu and a cappuccino cheesecake looked a little enticing, we decided to go elsewhere for dessert. There is an outside patio that looked cute for a sunny day or mild evening, so I’d consider coming back for a patio lunch if I were in the area — and if I had another certificate. However, I don’t think I’d come all the way back here to pay full price.

A very much earned star – bringing it up to 4. Great lunch options here – many pastas that come with soups or salads, all for under $ 10. The cheese ravioli was heavenly – they substituted alfredo at a reasonable $ 1.50. Only a few ravioli though. My friend had the eggplant parm which was huge! Much bigger than mine. The bread is always warm and free – good service. A hidden gem that keeps out tourists – no offense tourists.

So, while my stomach is pending explosion, I thought I’d review the lunch spot of the day. Zach’s is a really cool pad with plenty of outside seating. Food = pretty good Price = cheap during lunch($ 8 large portions with soup). Oh god, stomach in melt down stage… Country lasagna = delish and chalk full of veggies Eggplant parmagiana = coworker liked, looks good House salad with grilled chicken and low-fat honey dijon mustard = coworker raved about, looks good. Take-out containers = pretty nifty in design I couldn’t finish my entire lasagna, which is really odd for me = feeling inadequate:( My only gripe is that everything is a little pricier than I think it should be. The salads especially. What’s up with that?
