Wow is all I can say, this place is amazing. Came by last night for dinner. The fish was excellent and the service was on par. If you’re looking for a new sushi restaurant near by this is definitely the place to go, hands down the best sushi in town.

Last night came to Daiwa sushi, after a short Unilocal search, They had good reviews so I had to try it. I had their garlic edamame as an appetizer which is delicious. They have so many different kinds of fish and you can see the freshness and the quality. I had the blue fin cappuccino truffle garlic and the yellowtail yuzu and some big eyed sea perch sushi. It was excellent. The price was a bit expensive but it was totally worth it, I’ll definitely be back for more and some hot sake.

Hands down the best sushi in LA. That Albacore special and the tuna cake to die for. Bursting flavored. Excellent service ;-)

Brand new sushi place in studio city. The only complaint I have is that my sushi came out so much later then my son’s. He finished his plate and ordered his second before mine even arrived. When it did come, it was great ! Maybe they’re still working out timing? Will try again soon after I hit the other dozen or so great sushi places in studio city.

The salmon sushi was more flavorful than most places around the Blvd. the service was friendly and attentive. Atmosphere was just ok but the place was clean. A bit pricey for this level of quality, likely I will not return. Good wine. Ordered: Japanese Snapper Yuzu– very good Albacore Special — just ok O.M.G. — good, flavorful Spicy tuna — small but good Salmon sushi — a bit of good flavor. Not the best. Still in search of REALLYGOOD sushi.

I would love to give Daiwa more stars, but I just couldn’t. Their nigiri are pretty much just average. There were nothing that give me that«WOW» factor. That night my wife and I ordered their omakase sushi which means«The Chef Choice». My wife got the 8 pcs omakase nigiri and I got the 10 pcs omakase nigiri. We had many Omakase be for this, and I would have to say this was one of our lease favorite. If we would have known that they were going to serve us basic pieces of nigiri we would not have ordered this. I guess that was the fresh fish for that night. Here that was served in the Omakase 8 and 10 pcs. Tuna Salmon Yellowtail Albacore White Fish Halibut Uni wasn’t fresh Toro(which was chewy) Not good Ebi and Tamago(comes with the 10 pcs) SERVICE: The service was good and friendly. Overall all dinner was a miss, but their Chirashi bowl for lunch wasn’t bad for the price.

One thing I always hit up when I’m in LA is sushi. Its Fresh and so easily accessible compared to having to pay an arm and a leg for some trendy spot in nyc. I just want fresh sashimi that melts in your mouth and this place just raised the bar! Must haves Bluefin tuna Carpaccio in truffle garlic, Yellowtail Jalapeño sashimi, Albacore Sashimi crunch onion, Toro nigiri, and uni special! Must go back!

This place is delicious! They know their fish and the service is great. I consider myself a sushi«snob» and I highly suggest you check this place out. I’ll be adding it to my regular sushi stops! I suggest sitting at the bar and eating what chef suggests and/or what’s on the special board. Yum!

This place is the real deal. I felt like I was back in Ginza. Nothing short of perfect. Every piece of fish, meticulously prepared. And better than the previous. Kamasu(Baracuda) was incredible. Kimedai(Golden Eyed Snapper) was delicious. Toro was unmatched. Living in Southern California, there’s great sushi at every turn. Daiwa Sushi tops the list.

Wow! Great food! Great service! I’m so very impressed with the quality of the ingredients and knowledge of Japanese food from the chef’s. What I loved the most was just the feeling of Japanese spirit here, it’s clear to see that the owners and cooks are the real deal. I would recommend to anyone!

Stopped in for lunch today and I am so glad we did. I frequent several sushi places in the Studio City/Sherman Oaks area and Daiwa is up there with the best of them. We got a couple of the specialties(yellowtail Yuzu was really lovely) and several pieces of sushi(barracuda was top notch). Everything was wonderful. We also tried the Japanese craft beers they had and both were light, subtle, yet still flavorful-just what you want when you need to save room for more delicious fish :) Only constructive criticism: pick better music! Something more mellow to enjoy the next time we come in. Welcome to the neighborhood, Daiwa!

Come through and try the Bluefin Tuna Garlic Truffle, Albacore Sashimi Crunch Onion, and the Scallop Uni Truffle dishes! Really fresh fish with good flavor. I will be back and you should be too!

The sushi, great! The chef’s, super cool? Korean dude and a Japanese man named Koji who I totally enjoyed chatting it up with. I had the Toro, the giant clam, yellowtail belly and mackerel. Each were garnished with fresh wasabi(nice) and citrus sauces of yumminess. I’d come back, especially if the dude with the bald head and black spectacles is there. Class act type of guy, stealth and ninja like with his service. Kudos to him. He’s a keeper! One love…

I came to celebrate my birthday here… I was pleasantly surprised. It is an intimate setting and all waiters and sushi men were very attentive. I ordered the Daiwa Omakase which turned out to be a 7 course meal: wide range of sushi sashimi. two hand rolls, soup salad dessert and more !!! Plus good music and company… a perfect birthday!

Came to eat here last weekend with my family and I gotta say it’s a really nice place with a really friendly staff. They have really great quality fish you could taste the freshness. me and my wife and the kids fell in love with this place. And they also got really good hot plates like the grilled salmon and the new york steak so make sure you try the sushi as well as the kitchen food.

Tried this place last night, and left thinking it was super average. The rolls were fine, but nothing to write home about. We noticed that everything was priced $ 2 – 3 more than it should be. Probably won’t be back– too many options for memorable sushi on the Blvd.

Not just another sushi bar in studio city! Take advantage of this new sushi joint BC once more people find out about it it will be packed. What used to be Mezo Mando is now a place to eat sushi rolls that’s not too over sauced and presented clean and appetizing. Try the Love roll, albacore special roll, yellow tail crispy jalapeño & ninja vs. samurai roll. Our waitress Maribel was sweet. This restaurant opened less than a month ago and while its limited in wall décor and knick-knacks, the food offered more than makes up for it. Almost the five stars but the street parking on a busy night can be an issue. Though if you’re ballin’ valet options are always available.

Casual but elegant. The sushi was wonderful — had the omakase, every piece was delicate and flavorful. I ended up ordering more if the crab, which I typically am not impressed with(out there). This crab was insanely good, as was the rest of the chef’s offering. Side dishes: salad(very good dressing if not a bit too sweet) miso(it’s very hard to mess up miso soup). I wish I lived closer. I feel bad for the timid who don’t delve into real sushi and stray towards the baked rolls.

Yayyyyy! Always happy about a new sushi place nearby :) I must say with all the great places on Ventura Blvd. I’m spoiled with great sushi and very picky. This place was so awesome! Fresh fish, yummy rolls, they didn’t skimp on filling the hand rolls, and the service was great! We will definitely return again! I highly recommend the albacore special roll. The spicy tuna with creamy rock shrimp was great too! For sashimi, albacore and toro were delicious!
