I walked in with a friend and no one said anything while we waited standing for a minute by the«please wait to be seated» sign. No hi, no someone will seat you shortly, nothing. The manager came out from the kitchen area, saw us, and still went over to tell someone something and then came over and sat us. Some of the chicken in the chicken salad was a bit tough. Another dish was a bit overcooked. They don’t know how to make the spicy garlic eggplant dish like they used to. I didn’t say anything because I didn’t want to deal with the manager again and the food was good, just a bit off. I believe that the recipes have gone through subtle changes over the years because of kitchen staff turnover. I do change my rating on the places I eat at because things change. Hopefully someone from Chin Chin Corp read this. I hope they change.

Disgusting… We ordered chicken salads through grubhub to be delivered to our hospital and they arrived with half of the lettuce wilted with browned edges. We called to inform them that we just spent $ 14+tax/salad, plus a delivery charge and a $ 4 tip for wilted iceberg lettuce. They offered no apologies but claimed they would contact grubhub to refund the salads — didn’t give us the option of just getting fresh ones, which peeves me because an emergency hospital staff needs to eat(after we waited over an hour for the delivery). 3 hours later, no refund. I had to contact grubhub myself, who then contacted the restaurant, to issue a refund. I didnt get refunded for delivery and tip, btw. Geez. What an obnoxious experience. Thanks for wasting my time.

Good Chinese-American food. Not authentic but who cares. Wait staff very friendly. Mongolian beef is super tender. My husband loved the hot and sour soup… he practically single handedly finished 2 orders. Yang Chow fried rice platter enough to feed 4. Chin Chin… Yes Yes (Written by husband)

It’s kinda interesting how Chin Chin’s are always located on the second floor of plazas, but perhaps it’s because the restaurant is intended for a more upscale, private dining experience. My family has been going to the Brentwood location for years and we’ve also been to the Beverly Hills location before, but this was my first time visiting the Encino location. Although the interior doesn’t seem nearly as trendy as all the other locations, the food is consistently tasty, healthy and light. We ordered our usual staples, including the wonton soup, pan-fried potstickers, shu mai, wonton stars, Chinese chicken salad, Szechuan string beans, and pad Thai. Both the soup and salad were especially filling and satisfying, so we probably could’ve done without all the rest of the dishes, but the dim sum is always a nice touch. I really love pretty much everything I’ve ever tried from Chin Chin’s, even though the food isn’t exactly authentic, but it sure is tasty and definitely way healthier than your typical greasy Chinese food. Because this location is a bit more remote, it feels more cozy, less flashy(even the staff seems less pretentious), and it’s much easier to get a table — I’m a fan!

Ordered to-go & placed in my notes, «please prepare in plastic container NOT paper carton.» the host was kind enough to place it in this to-go container after it came to me in the carton. This salad is HEAVRN should come packaged like this EVERYTIME!

Great service but mediocre food. Crispy spicy honey shrimp was not as advertised… very soggy. They charged extra for bed of iceberg lettuce which added to the disappointment. At least our waitress was nice.

terrible customer service coupled with mediocre food and over-priced. ordered 5 plates of food for delivery that was over $ 105 + tip. food was not terrible but not great either. the problem was they forgot to bring one of the orders, which so happened to be the one i looked forward to most. called them up, and after being placed on hold twice and speaking to two different people, they said they can bring us the food item«in about an hr.» i live less than 200 yards away! yeah, im going to eat what i have now, then eat again in an hour(GTFO). then they said ok we can refund but they wanted ME to go over to the restaurant. so i paid a lot for the food and delivery service, and tipped, and im supposed to do the work to get a refund? oh but i did get a big box of just those crispy fried noodles. completely unnecessary and stupid.

I really, really, like this Chinese place. It’s super clean and nice, quiet when I went. The food is delicious. We ordered the veggie fried rice, it was on point, also the barbecue pork slices– they were tender and perfectly cooked, we also ordered some of orange chicken because what’s Chinese food without the orange chicken. The food was great and the ambiance was nice, our waitress was great too. Everything about this place was great except for the prices, this is not your typical $ 6 – 7 a plate place and I don’t think the portions are worth $ 12 – 15. You will spend here but know that it will be worth it.

LOVE this place! It’s like high-end Chinese food, and it’s ALL delicious! I like to get the Dim Sum, and peanut noodles, because I love anything with peanut sauce, and the amount of food they serve literally fills me up while I’m there, then I take the rest home and have TWO lunches with it! I have also tried 3 or 4 other dishes, and they were all perfectly executed and yummy! Perfect place for a date, the mood is casual-upscale. And I’ve never had any problems with parking. Oh, and THEYDELIVER!!:)

We have been dining at chin chin ever since it began back in the early 80’s on the sunset strip. We now live out of the area but try to come as often as possible to the studio city location for their incredibly delicious chicken salad and Szechuan dumplings. We have had most of the menu over the years and everything is very good, but it’s the two aforementioned items we crave most. On our most recent visit on a Saturday afternoon our server was Liz… she was so refreshing and positive and genuine and she truly enhanced our dining experience, she deserved 5 stars on her own! The only reason I did not rate 5 stars was that like other reviews I noticed a big bump in price, $ 28.00 for 1 order of salad and 1 dumpling order(5 pieces) and 1 iced tea… pretty pricey but this is a trend that is happening at most dining establishments no doubt a result of the new minimum wage hikes.

I am a first timer here at Chin Chin(Studio City) and WOW, incredible Chinese food. I am not much of a Chinese food fanatic but I do enjoy eating it from time to time. The location/mini city view was nice, and the customer service was excellent. They we were really attentive to us and were awesome! The food itself was a bit oily, but overall really good. I will be returning back here soon!

This used to be my favorite Chinese joint in Studio City. It seems that it is becoming so again. Their Chinese chicken salad, dim sum and then sum, BBQ ribs and various dishes are still extremely fresh and tasty and for a change their yang chow fried rice is very good except, try it with brown rice for a more healthful tasty dish. Glop a bit of spicy mustard on top and you have a main course with chicken, beef and shrimp. Don’t be afraid to roam around the menu and you’ll find it certainly beats some of the hastily made crowd prepared food of bamboo further west in Sherman oaks

Yummy food I don’t get to eat often as Ai moved away years ago. Start with the tasty Chinese Chicken Salad and if your server suggests extra dressing, simply agree. Gitta try the pan-fried Potstickers which are just right served with a pleasing Apricot sauce. My server suggested Cheesecake for Dessert but there was no room in my stomach. Sit at the Counter and enjoy the theater of a busy kitchen.

Once a while after our bowling night out, we stop by at chin chin . The place is clean, friendly waiter and plenty parking. I like the dim sum and sum selections where you can order 3 dishes but smaller portions. $ 17.95, lemonade $ 3.50 plus a hot and sour soup $ 5. Taste is ok, more American chinese and I find it on the salty side. Overall service is great and fast.

My fiancé and I were having a horrid day and had gone way too long without eating — we were both pretty grumpy. We stopped into Chin Chin(our first time) and were presently surprised by the clean, tranquil atmosphere. Instantly, we were greeted by Perry. His welcoming presence and happy attitude were contagious. Perry also waited on our table. He was delightful and courteous. Too top off our experience, the food was delicious! I ordered the beef and apargus which was perfectly cooked. Both the flank steak and vegetables were tender and tastey. My fiancé had a seafood noodle dish. None of the seafood was chewy or fishy, but fresh and mouthwatering. We shared our dishes as neither one of us could decide which we liked better as they were both top notch. At the end, we’d had such a lovely dinning experience, we would knew we would be back. I asked our waiter’s name to request him again and learned Perry was the General Manager. An establishment run by such a detail oriented/hands on GM was a surprise. I could tell his sense of personal customer service trickled down the line, as the other two waitresses on duty were also very friendly and helpful. Chin Chin is my new favorite restaurant and highly recommended!

I’ve been coming to Chin Chin since I was a teenager. Their slogan was«Dim Sum and Then Sum» which was cute and catchy but what kept everyone coming back was the Chinese Chicken Salad. It was epic. Two different kinds of «crunchies»(rice noodles and won tons, tossed with the shredded lettuce, chicken, minor other ingredients and their epic dressing. This is the place that put Chinese Chicken Salads on the map but nobody has ever mimicked or come close to their dressing. Tip: If you are getting takeout, and order this salad, always ask for crunchies on the side so it stays crispy when it’s time to nom! I took a few years off, as you do with places around town but started going back recently and the food transports me back to my teen years. It’s exactly the same. Solid, can be healthy if you order right and tasty. With a Unilocal check-in you get a free appetizer(your choice between two) and the manager at this location was even nice enough to not only only honor the free app, he gave me a different one that I requested instead because I don’t eat meat. That is good and thoughtful service. We ordered the lettuce wraps done veggie-style, which are always a crowd-pleaser. The green beans are delicious and probably my favorite of the veg dishes. It should also be noted that the beans are on their gluten free menu, which is not to say that you have to search to find them, I’m saying they have a whole selection of gluten free items which is a consideration for many people so good on them for making that clear. We also had the Mu Shu and the King Pao Chicken. You can get more wraps if you need them for the mu shu and the Kung Pao seemed to be the hit of the table. They have their own lot(it’s sort of a strip mall) for parking and they offer indoor and outdoor seating. If you used to eat there as a youngster, take a chance on going back. The salads are exactly as you’ll remember them. Plus — bonus — you’ll feel young again!
