Dr Blackmore with highly recommended and I don’t know why… my dog was having seizures and my vet told me to go to her to get an MRI …$ 1,200 later she charged me and when she was finished she had no recommendations except to say there was nothing that could be done for my dog… Two months later I called the University of Gainesville Small Animal Hospital and made an appointment… after they did a catscan along with the MRI. it was very clear to them that the dog could have three easy treatments of SRS or gamma knife radiation to treat her tumor… it is now 4 weeks after the treatments and the dog within a day did a 180 in the acting incredibly energetic and has not had one seizure whereas she was having one every week. I almost begged Dr Blackmore… how could there not be any options you could tell me… she did say… surgery… which would like mostly kill her and she said radiation would be really hard on the dog if she’s such a professional… then she should be well aware that since 2010 the University of Gainesville Small Animal Hospital has been equipped to have this incredible level of treatment which is very non invasive and very little effects on the dog… If you want the best treatment for your dog and a heck of a lot better prices… go to the University of Gainesville Animal Hospital… call them on their 800 number… they get back to you within a day and they tell you exactly what they can do… even if you have to drive there and stay… it’s worth the time effort and a heck of a lot cheaper and the best treatment you could get for your dog anywhere in Florida…

I have never reviewed a doctor or a veterinarian, but I feel compelled to rate Dr. Blackmore because she is beyond fantastic. My little Chihuahua had suffered a herniated disc and thus was paralyzed in her back hindlegs. I called the day before Christmas thinking I would just get an answering service and not be able to see the doctor. However I was able to get an appointment right away with Dr. Blackmore that day. She was beyond friendly, caring, and considerate. She did a very thorough examination of my dog, even diagramming the disc herniation and the issues. She decided to askew a MRI due to the risks and the progress that she felt my dog could make. I have doctors in my family and work with them on a daily basis, but I must say that she is one of the best doctors– human or otherwise– I’ve ever encountered. I highly recommend her.
