Excellent selection, good prices and they will order craft beers for me. It’s also right around the corner from my house, and next to the Shaw’s where I shop.
Unfortunately, there’s one woman who works there who has never been friendly to either my wife or me. We’ve been going for five years, and spend plenty of money, so I’m not sure why — I see her being friendly to other customers, but never us. It’s strangely reassuring to read other Unilocal reviews that say the same thing about her.
Despite the proximity to my house, I give most of my business — and most of my money — to Acton Wine and Liquors up the street.

Doesn’t compare to the Colonial Spirits in Acton, which is fantastic. What is the relationship between these two stores? It seems like night and day. If I am in Stow, and looking to buy some beer, I’d almost surely go here, but if I had the choice between going here and the Colonial Spirits in Acton, then I’d unquestionably go to the one in Acton. The beer selection is much better, and you can buy singles from six packs. When I tried to do that at the Colonial Spirits in Stow, I was all but reprimanded for doing so.

So in terms of selection and price, this place is alright. The service could be way better, though. There is a woman with curly red hair who works there who is extraordinarily rude. I have heard from others who have encountered her that she is pretty hostile.
So bottom line: If you see an older woman with curly red hair behind the cash register, RUN.

Whoever chooses their spirits has really good taste. They seem to carry everything that gets highly reviewed by the experts. Overall, really impressive…

The staff here are amazing. They are wicked friendly and know their stuff. It’s clean, bright, organized, and has a wide selection of all alcohol. I love to try new beers and they always have an ever changing selection of craft and seasonal beers. i have yet to be recommended one and not liked it. When they don’t have a specific beer I’m looking for they sometimes are able to get it in for me,

Best selection around, and at great prices! The organic wine display is fantastic for this area. The new location is bright, but plain. They have huge floor space they could do more with, but I am sure that will happen over time. Beer selection looks good, hard liquor is a nice variety. The woman that works there is so nice! When we have family gatherings, we get our wine from Colonial!
