UConn Public Surplus Store

Open only once per month (the second Friday of each month from 10am — 3pm), this place can be pretty much described as the UConn-​exclusive version of Goodwill. Filled with as-​is items discarded by the University — including desks, dressers, washing machines, TVs, computer monitors, UConn apparel, and more — you can really score a deal here. Dressers and desks for $ 5 – 10? They’ve got them here. Buy one, get one free TVs? They’ve got them here too.
Sales are cash only with no ATM on site and no «customer service» (obviously). If you want a good deal, I would advise getting here early. I’m pretty sure all the big sells were gone when I arrived at 1pm. You don’t have to take home what you buy that day — you can pick up your merchandise any Tuesday or Thursday afternoon (1−3pm) before the next sale, otherwise it’s going back on the shelf for resale. Just an FYI: All clothing and shoes are taxable goods.
