We have been going here for 5 years and everyone has taken great care of myself and family. So very blessed to have such great care in our neighborhood. The eye glass selection is fabulous and we always find a pair or two we love.

So glad that I don’t have to go to this place anymore. The staff is totally incompetent and not friendly at all. They refused to release my prescription because it was over a year old. This isn’t a real law. According to 1800-Contacts( ), this is a myth and one year is the MINIMUM not MAXIMUM. Although they are not legally obligated to release your prescription, there’s no reason why they shouldn’t if they clearly mark that it is expired. Judging by the other reviews, I’m assuming they like to withhold prescriptions so that you have to buy contacts from them at a ridiculous mark up. Dr. Leone was ok. She was nice enough, but for some reason there was a mistake in ordering my contacts and she needed me to read off my prescription over the phone a couple of days after the exam. There seemed to be some sort of miscommunication and they ordered the wrong set for one of my eyes. When I went to pick up my contacts she said, ‘You taught me to never listen to my patients.’ I’m guessing she was joking… regardless, that’s a little messed up. Is my prescription not on file? Isn’t that what your excellent staff is supposed to manage? I’m still not sure why I was asked in the first place, but she did right by replacing my contacts for free.

My experience with the optometrist was fine. I got a good prescription and had every intention of coming back for annual exams. Then I had to deal with the office people. I picked out new glasses and loved them but the final price seemed to be more than what the woman who helped me pick out my frames insinuated. It wasn’t too much, but enough that it didn’t feel like everything was on the up and up. Then when my 10 days of sample contacts ran out, I went back to order more. I was quoted a super high price that didn’t seem right for 12 months of lenses. I went home and looked online and found I could order online for a lot less. I went back to the office and asked for my prescription. By this point, it was a few months after my exam. The woman behind the desk became a completely different person once I asked for my prescription. She went from friendly to nothing less than catty and rude. She once again told me how much they would charge for a 3 month supply plus shipping. When I told her that I could get them online for $ 15 less per box with free shipping she sighed and printed out my prescription. She then hand wrote on the prescription that it was only valid for 9 months worth of contacts and had the doctor sign it. There are a few problems with this scenario: 1) federal regulations REQUIRE that optometrists give you your contact lens prescription after your fitting even if you don’t ask for it. 2) there is no law that says you can only buy contacts for the time period remaining on your prescription. In fact, it is perfectly legal to «stock up» on contacts right before your prescription expires. This practice of attempting to restrict the amount of contacts you can buy is either the brain child of the rude receptionist or a company policy — either way, it’s a non-starter for me. Bottom line, it was a great fitting and the optometrist was professional and thorough with my exam but the attitude and practices of everyone else in the office will send me to a different office when I do finally run out of contact lenses.

Good luck getting an eye appointment. I registered online for an appointment and never heard from them. I called them on the phone and couldn’t get them to understand that I work during the day and that a 9am appointment wasn’t going to work. They claim they are booked out 3 weeks or better. Oh well. I try to give my local community my business, but if they can’t offer the service, I’ll take my business elsewhere.

I have been a patient of Dr. Leone’s for many years. I have always enjoyed the office staff and the personal attention and care of Dr. Leone. I had to go in when I scratched my cornea. Dr. Leone was out of town, however, her new associate, Dr. Maria Pham, was able to see me on short notice. She was friendly and very professional. She wrote me a prescription and did several tests to make sure that it wasn’t something else. My eye is healed is less than a week and Dr. Pham had a follow up appointment to make sure my eye was healing properly. She explained things that I needed to watch for in the future. I am glad to see that Dr. Leone is as particular in choosing new associates as she is in her health care! Welcome to the neighborhood, Dr. Pham! You are an excellent addition and most welcome! Sincerely, Ellen C. Miller South Riding, Va.

I have been going to this office since 2006 and have brought my entire family(including extended) and recommended it to friends. They have all had positive experiences and keep going back for eyecare. The staff is professional and willing to work around my schedule.

I would not recommend this practice to anyone for two reasons: 1) The front office staff is unhelpful, unpleasant and never friendly. I am not sure if it is their lack of knowledge for eyecare or if they are really that unpleasant to deal with, but either way, I have better things to do with my time. 2) Billing is a nightmare. The staff does not seem to understand their billing practices(apparently most of their billing is outsourced to a third party) and are rarely able to answer questions. They are, however, more than willing to have a patient pay out of pocket upfront and«figure it out» on the back end when insurance is processed. Be prepared for a long drawn out battle(in my case 6 months) to get reimbursed after insurance pays. This practice is convenient for me and I liked Dr. Plett when she was there. Now that Dr. Plett is gone, I will GLADLY drive elsewhere for better service.

I’ve been a patient here for long time, since 2008 and I stopped going because didn’t like repetitive waste of time dealing with glass frames. I JUST want to re-use the same frame and not deal with new frames over and over. The doctors are GREAT! I used to see Dr. Leone but I was seen by Pham and it was fine experience. I wish they would tell the total summary bill up front. You deal with the doc, then the eye wear staff, in which they tell you the quote. After that, you go up to the service desk and the total sum. So, be prepared to PAY more at the END.

I have been to this office a couple of times and had a great experience. The eye doctors are wonderful, but my last visit I had a very bad experience with the office staff. I needed to have my eyes diluted and it has been a very long time since that has been done. i did not know what the process was. I kept asking the woman who was doing the procedure what was happening and she kept telling me to have a seat, not answering anything I was asking. No one told me I would be unable to read the rest of the day ect. I was told all would be good in ½ an hour. My mistake. I am not upset about that, but when I asked questions I received no answers. I was told to just sit down. Luckily I had my Mom with me, because we were going to lunch. At lunch she told me the office staff were talking very badly about me and another patient. They were saying«why do why get patients with all the questions on a Friday». I thought at the doctors you should feel free to ask any question. No question is a dumb question. After All it is my eyes!!! You never know who is in the waiting room and office staff should NEVER talk bad about anyone in the reception area. We are human and yeah at work some things make us mad, but keep it in the break room! I will NEVER return to this place! So sad because I recommended them before and now I will be pulling my recommendation. It has NOTHING to do with the Doctors, but if they employ people like this then it is their fault too!

I highly recommend Dr Lindsey Plett. She has cared for all three of my children ages 17, 13 and 4 and have an amazing bedside manner. I like how she speaks to my children and engages them in discussion to best determine how to treat them. The front desk staff isn’t always the most pleasant when I have called to schedule appointments, I’ve thought of leaving bc of that but really like the doctor… Frame selection is decent for the girls but not the little boy… The stylist are both great and have helped everyone find a great pair for them.

Convoluted and suspect billing practices even the staff cannot explain. The final bill was more than a year later even though insurance closed out the claims in sufficient time. Then when asked for detailed information all that is provided is a lengthy line by line account via phone that still didn’t add up. I was given three different total bill amounts. Everything is not submitted to insurance. Associates in Eyecare is not compelled to or concerned with explaining their billing.

Great experience. The doctor was great, she gave me very detailed eye exam and tried to understand my lifestyle. The lady that helped me with choosing new pair of glasses was awesome as well, she and the technicians adjusted my old pair glasses that I purchased elsewhere, they never fit before, now they fit perfectly and I am going to use them as my spare glasses at home. My ONLY complains are their glasses selection is not HUGE and a bit pricey. But my insurance paid for most of it. The receptionist was okay, not great. BUT, I am here for eye exam and glasses, so I couldn’t care less.

I came here all the way from Fairfax(45 minutes to an hour drive with traffic) for a certain brand of frames that I couldn’t find anywhere closer. The employees I worked with were all very helpful and nice. I told them my glasses had broken and I needed my new pair ASAP so I could drive and they told me they would try to get them in by the end of the week. I got them in the next day, about 24 hours after I paid for them. I was very impressed. I haven’t had an eye exam here so I can’t review that, but I would definitely come back.

Dr. Jen Weigel is awesome and so are the staff at Associates in Eyecare. They are located in the same shopping center as Ciro Restaurant and is just down the street from South Riding and Ashburn. I had to go here for my yearly eye exam as well as check out why my eyes have been bothering me for the past few weeks. This was my first time seeing Dr. Weigel and she was very informative, kind, and fun to chat with. Never did I feel uncomfortable going in to depth and breadth of my challenges with my eye problems… and boy can I talk at length about how I was trying to pinpoint what was causing my eyes to hurt. Contacts off, no makeup, lotion, glasses… my eyes still hurt. Dr. Weigel patiently listened to my story as we shared many giggles to my Eye Problem Detective adventure. Thankfully, Dr. Weigel was able diagnose the problem and seems like I have blocked meibomian glands that are preventing my eyes to have the protective oil layer and as a result… dry eyes and the pain I was noticing. She recommended a plan to get my oil layer back on my eyes with very simple instructions. Loved that she was able to answer every question that I had with lots of expertise and was very pleasant throughout the entire exam. I highly recommend Dr. Weigel for those of you trying to find an optometrist. :)
