Best tacos! The homemade tortillas give it that taste you will not find on a taco truck.

so i’ve been here enough times to give this place a review. i recently moved in to the neighborhood, and found this place nearby and thought i’d give it a try. so far, i’ve had the shrimp enchiladas, fish sopes, and fish tacos. like other reviewers have mentioned, the preparation and plating is surprisingly well-done. its not the fastest service in the world, but you can tell that the chef takes pride in every dish they prepare here. the enchiladas were very good. generous portions, lots of big shrimp, i could barely finish it! the sopes were great, too. i wasn’t expecting much from just 2 sopes, but they were HUGE, as are the fish tacos. very filling and delicious. also, the 7 Mares soup is fantastic. lots of tasty aquatic critters swimming around in there, and although it’s served as a side dish, it could be a meal on its own. highly recommended. i will continue to come back here and try out all of the different dishes they have to offer.

the food is served nice and hot, the plates are presented gourmet style, busy dinner and holidays weekends. fresh corn tortillas, the seafood is good the pescado frito from fish to breakfast is served very authentic. improvement needed of bench too high should be more like real restaurant booths other than the bench. the food is great. love it. Prices are great and good size portion of food.

I loved the shrimp cocktails at this place as well as the fish tacos — But bring cash if you go the La Posada — We paid by credit card for to go food last month, and the next day our credit card number was hacked and used in Southern California. I’m glad it wasn’t my debit card. Sadly, I will be going elsewhere for my shrimp cocktail — like Tepa Taqueria.

Now I’m not going to lie. I thought this place was a drug front at first… Always an empty parking lot when I passed by and even emptier once inside to eat… and they have managed to stay open for a few years now. Well drug front or not this place serves the best Mexican seafood dishes in Stockton(IMO)… Not only is the seafood tasty and fresh, it’s also served to your table with a wonderful presentation style that you just don’t see at local Mexican restaurants… There is some real attempt at artistry going on in this kitchen… I was so impressed with the presentation that I uploaded a picture of my seafood enchiladas… I also really enjoy the Siete Mares(7 Seas, basically a seafood soup) that they prepare here as well. It’s loaded with all kinds of sea dwelling creatures that are prepared for you to devour… The prices are a little above average here, but when you think about it seafood is never really cheap, unless you go to Long John Silver’s, but I don’t consider that processed crap real seafood… I would recommend this place for lunch, since its never really busy and you would get great service, due to you most likely being the only occupied table… Words of Wisdom-They advertise a decent Happy Hour special… Go for the story and the«very» attractive senoritas working there…

Pretty Good Last Time I Tried It Disclaimer: I haven’t been here in a couple of years, but last time I went the food was pretty good. I ordered shrimp enchiladas, and they came filled with lots of plump, juicy shrimp. The handmade corn tortillas were also tasty as I recall. No imitation food on my plate. But hey, places change.

FAIL! Since I had a craving for a crab enchilada and was nowhere near Mexicali Rose, I decided to stop here and check it out. I heard some people say good things about the one on Center St; so I figured this place would be okay. This was the first time I spent almost $ 10 on a take-out lunch and threw everything away. I should’ve known there would be issues when I pulled up in an empty parking lot around 1:30pm-2pm. My crab enchilada was a «krab» enchilada-false advertising! Sorry, I don’t do surimi. After that, everything else on the plate looked nasty, so I chucked it. I’ll stick with Mexicali Rose.
