NOT closed, just renamed as Oriental Chef, I was there on 4−22−16. I go by there all the time and haven’t seen it closed during regular business hours. That said, what I got was typical House Chow Mein. Nothing to write home about, but good enough. Girl forgot my rice, I found out when I got home, but at least I wasn’t charged, I don’t think she heard me. If they don’t say it when they repeat it back, make sure they put it on the order! Got to say my food was streaming hot when I got it home, 20 minutes later.

This place used to be decent when it was fu yuan. They recently underwent new management, changed their name to «oriental kitchen» and the food quality took a nose dive. After waiting a good 3 minutes to be acknowledged by one of the ladies, I ordered a combo plate that consisted of chow mein, orange chicken, and garlic fried chicken. The chow mein was soggy and plain, the orange chicken and garlic fried chicken were nothing more than old pieces of meat caked in a stale, overcooked«batter»… I couldn’t finish any of it. I tossed it in the trash and even the trash can spit it back out.

Visiting family in Stockton, and we wanted to go get some dim sum. Found this spot on Unilocal, and it’s nearby. I must say… I am not very impressed; and I’m from Utah. There’s no particular dish that stands out; it’s all the same. Their shrimp balls didn’t seem as crunchy as they appeared. The chicken feet had a light sour after-taste… orange zest, maybe? I rate the food 2 stars, but their staff speaks english fairly well and are attentive, so I think that deserves another star. If you are looking for a good dim sum quick fix, this is ok. If you are looking for something more flavorful… well, I can’t really recommend anywhere out here since I’m not from here! Good luck!

I’m giving them a solid three stars! We had a helluva time finding this joint. Probably since I’m the navigator and using the Unilocal app as my GPS sent us in circles. I finally called the business and from what I could comprehend, she said the place is located in front of Michael’s. We had just come from the front of Michael’s and the only«Chinese,» was Panda Express. So I take a chance and direct my already,“pissed off,” hubby that maybe it’s BEHIND Michael’s. Well, I would’ve bet hubs if he was in the mood to play along, because I was right! Like I always am, LOL! Fu Yuan is BEHIND Michael’s. First impression, very busy, but old and kinda dirty. The condiment tray was neglected and could of used a good wiping. We ordered some Dim Sum along with a lunch special. The price was good, but for me, the quality was less than. The Har Gow and Shu Mai had bits of hard pieces in there like tendons that were extremely chewy. It was a first for me, never had that happen. Threw my taste buds off along with the uncleanliness. The salt pepper chicken was great. The lunch special my hubby ordered was good, not the best, but not bad. I’d say at $ 6.50, the value is phenomenal. There was a ton of food. We had also ordered the same lunch special to go for my father in law beforehand and our waitress was great at making sure to have it ready by the time we finished. Overall, the food is okay but not fantastic, I’ve had better in Sac. The service was outstanding tho! Very efficient and hospitable staff.

Price went up very little for their weekend lunch dim sum. It is $ 2.20 a plate, but seriously, that is still an AMAZING price. Service is always good. They always make sure you’re doing okay, and if the carts don’t have what you want when they come around, they can get in an order of what you want, and fast. Can’t get enough of this place! The food, the service, the price. Awesome!

Today was our first time here. Everything seemed to be going great in the beginning but we started to notice that the food and service became so inconsistent. They started at a five star but for every annoyance, I deducted a star in my head. I kept tabs and by the time we left, they were at two stars . The salt pepper chicken was good, the chow mein was good until I realized there were more bean sprouts and onions than noodles, the shrimp dumplings were good, their steamed pork bun was decent, their chili oil was disgusting and tasted like ketchup not spicy at all btw!, the first two pieces of chicken feet were good but the third one had a different taste compared to the first few, and we were looking forward to trying their shu mai(a dim sum staple) but after waiting an hour(which was the said eta) they never passed the carts our way. Each time my bf flagged someone down they just ignored him so we left ‚ Don’t think we will be back. Bye, Felicia !

The thing about success is that more and more people will want to share in experiencing that success. Note the photo that says all dim sum $ 1.80 per dish on weekends. Note the reviews that state $ 2.00 per dish on weekends. Well, we were there on 8⁄23 and the price is now $ 2.20 per dish. Was the food worth it? Heck yeah! No, you won’t find all the specialty items like you’d find in San Francisco. But hey, you won’t find in San Francisco all the things you’ll find in Hong Kong either. The service was decent. The flavors were good. The selection covered all the standard items albeit a bit slowly. We never did see everyone’s favorites, Ha Gow or Rice Noodle Rolls. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door. The restaurants tables were 80% in use. We were seated and asked what we’d like to drink. I ordered our usual Gook Bo, which came quickly. The first cart came by as soon as we had received our tea. Because we were seated next to the kitchen, we were the first stop. That was good because there were a total of five different items on the cart and we took three of them, Sticky Rice, Siu Mai and Seafood Dumpling. The odd thing is that there was only one of each of those dishes on the cart. Imagine the disappointment of other diners as the cart moved around the room. When the cart reached the table to our left, which was the last table before the cart went into the kitchen, one of the diners complained that they had been seated for 15 minutes and had yet to see anything that they wanted to order. The server was smart and very professional, she apologized and asked if there was anything specific that they’d like to have and she would make sure they would get it. This pleased the diners and service went smoothly. We also had Shrimp Dumpling with Cilantro, Abalone Sauce(really?) Chicken Feet(they tasted a little different but were quite good) and Steamed Beef Meatballs. With tax and license, a whooping $ 16! If I’m in the area, I will definitely return to Fu Yuan with friends to try some of their other dim sum and maybe some chow mein or chow fun.

$ 2 all you can eat plates, such a deal! I order so much food and my bill was only $ 18 ! Fried shrimp balls are my favorite. The restaurant needs some updating but what restaurant doesn’t. Service was a-okay. nothing special.

I came here for dim sum the first time on probably a really busy day — Mother’s Day. The restaurant was packed and the workers looked busy. I wish they had a better structure for the large amount of customers waiting. It felt like random people kept entering and sitting down as soon as there was an open spot, ignoring the crowd. Once again, not sure if it was just because of Mother’s Day. The dim sum part was okay. Because not many places in Stockton can compare to the Bay Area, this is in comparison to places like Dynasty’s and Asia Palace. My friend and I ordered several items off their dim sum. They definitely had a larger available selection than Asia Palace. We ordered several dumplings, such as Shumai and Shrimp Dumplings. They were extremely filling. I went into the restaurant starving, but literally after 2 dumplings, I was already starting to get full. Not really sure why, since normally I can eat a lot of dumplings. The flavor was okay, but felt a bit on the heavy side. We also ordered their pork, which was probably the worst item we ordered. It was extremely greasy. Their best item was probably their egg tart. The crust was not too thick and it was crispy. The custard part was really good — a little more on the runny side, but I don’t think it affected the flavor too much. Overall, it was an okay dim sum experience. I probably would not go out of my way to come back here for dim sum, but if my friends wanted to go, I wouldn’t mind going.

This restaurant was surprisingly good! I went for brunch with my sisters and opted for the dim sum. It wasn’t the traditional«cart» dim sum, but ordering was fairly easy. They give you a list of what you could order and u just tell them what u want and how many of each item u want. We also order the chicken chow mien from the regular menu. Everything that we ordered came out fairly quickly and tasted delicious. Service was average for a Chinese restaurant. I would go back.

Fu Yuan is located in the Hammer Ranch Shopping Center with a Post Office and a S-Mart Foods. My parents don’t find the Dim Sum here to be good, but we came for dinner and it was pretty good! My family and I came with relatives who live in Stockton to this restaurant at around 7 pm. There was only 1 other table being occupied in the restaurant and this was on a Saturday at 7, yikes! Once they finished, we were the only table there for quite some time until another party came in. Wow, talk about a slow Saturday… Salted Fish with Chicken Fried Rice Sweet & Sour Peking Spareribs Salted Fish Meat Patty Choy Sum Soup Dumplings Crispy Fried Chicken Tofu in Claypot Fried Flounder(Fish) Honey Walnut Shrimp Everything we ordered was pretty good! The Chicken was nice and crispy, with great juicy flavor. The portion size of the chicken was huge, good enough to feed 5 – 6 people, maybe even more. The Salted Fish Fried Rice was excellent, perfect tastes and good amount of rice, but not enough of Chicken though. Mean while, the Salted Fish Meat Patty was very fresh and the meat portion was well constructed. The tofu in the claypot was good and soft. There were veggies in the bottom too for added tastes. Didn’t necessarily care for the Sweet & Sour Peking Spareribs, they were okay but not as good as i’ve had at other places. The Honey Walnut Shrimp was decent. The Fried Flounder, was cool, it was typical fried fish with the soy sauce. Bones and fish meat, what else haha. The Soup Dumplings which the waitress recommended seemed good, the family thoguht it was good and not bad. The waitresses were very friendly and even the owner of the restaurant was very nice and accomedating. Not bad for dinner.

HOWDID I NOTKNOWTHISPLACEEXISTED !!! first off dimsum is my most favorite food in the world ! I always get cravings late in the day but I never found a dimsum place that serves dimsum so late. Most dim sum restaurants stop serving dim sum until 3pm … I’m not big on eating breakfast and I don’t care too much for lunch. I prefer a large or good dinner to tide me over. When I called and Ask if they serve dimsum all day and they said yes. My heart felt like to was going to explode ! I’M HAVINGFRESHDIMSUMFORDINNERFINALLY ! first off as soon as we walked in … it was dead noone was there ?! which was a big sign that this place might not be that good. But MY cravings for dimsum was too strong that day I just wanna try it out. Customer service was great she was fast, very detailed and very friendly. She was shocked that all we wanted was dim sum. she asked if we wanted fried rice or chow mein? . but nah girlfriend we are mainly here for the dimsum we are not like most customers that order the basics haha we ordered about 12 dim sum dishes ranging from large to small. here’s to name a few sorry if i misspelled anything Har gaw — shrimp dumplings fon gor– shark fin dumplings shumai– pork shrimp dumplings seafood dumplings shrimp and chives dumplings scallop and mushroom crab meat dumpling stuffed tofu with shrimp dried shrimp and pork dumplings 2 orders of the FRIEDSHRIMPBALLS !!!(these are soo Good) BBQ pork steam buns EVERYTHINGWASDELICIOUS !!! I WISH I HADROOMINMYTUMMYFORMORE ! everything was fresh piping hot and all the food came out in an orderly fashion. the wait was not long at all. I left a big tip because I was soooo completely satisfied with the service. And now I can go on with my life knowing I can Have fresh Dimsum any time of day

Since I found this place I haven’t been back to China Palace or Dynasty for dim sum. All the employees here are super friendly! I love how they always comes and go with a smile. They try their best to serve us but during rush hour, they seem to have their hands full. But again, services are great! Their food are pretty good. I love Shrimp Dumpling(HarGow), deep Fried Shrimp Balls and Stuffed Bell peppers, and at Fu Yuan, I can say that it’s at the same level as at China Palace and Dynasty. Pricing? It’s now $ 2 for most of their Dim Sum on the weekends; such a good deal for the food. We tired their Beef Chow Mien today, wow! It’s was delicious! They open earlier than the other restaurants so come early before lunch for better service, no wait time and more food your way.

Wanted some dim sum for lunch so searched Unilocal for a good place. Decided to give this a try after seeing the reviews. The host seated me and my boyfriend quickly. They had at most 2 girls pushing around dim sum carts at a time. Not a HUGE variety of dim sum, probably 30 dishes to pick from, but enough to make the meal enjoyable Prices are very fair. Less then $ 2 per dish so can’t beat that. Service was good. Waitress stopped to check on us and refill water. Will be back..

Damn you, Q’s BBQ! Ehh, I guess this place turned out to be A-OK ~ Far from the best. The food was mediocre for the most part. We had some shrimp rice balls(barely tasted any shrimp), siomai(not as tender and hearty as other dim sum places), Chinese donut(just a puff; zero taste whatsoever), scallop dumplings(actually pretty decent — light and flavorful), and egg tart(probably the best part of the meal — crunchy, soft, sweet, and just so friggin’ addicting…). A busy hour when we came in. One good thing I can say that they can be proud of with this restaurant is their service. It was quick, friendly, and very accommodating. Considering they were packed during this lunch rush, they managed to turn over a table for two rather quickly. The food carts also came regularly thereafter, without missing the standard items you’d see from the regular menu. Besides the BBQ pork buns, I’d say I pretty much got everything I was looking for. To me, the siomai is the most important part; I can’t leave without that or else it wouldn’t be a dim sum experience. For the quantity, it was definitely on the cheaper end; however, if we’re talking about the quality of what we had, it might have just hit it right on the money($ 20 ~).

We ended up here on a whim, after failing to eat lunch at a Korean BBQ spot that was unexpectedly closed for the day. I am a fan of dim sum, and I was excited to try the place because of its 4-star average and also because I was starving. When we arrived the place was packed and there was a growing line behind us. The sign outside announced $ 1.80 for any size dimsum on Saturdays and Sundays so I assume that’s why it was so busy! They cleaned a table for us and we were sat within a few minutes. They offer your standard dim sum items here. We went with shrimp and sticky rice balls, egg tart, siu mai, Chinese donut, sesame balls, and shrimp dumpling. I was hoping to try their rice noodle and BBQ pork buns, but they didn’t have either of those, which are my favorite dimsum items. Much like most dimsum places, it takes a while for the carts to come around. There were only about 4 – 5 carts, which seems low considering how packed the place was. I think if we were there 30 – 45 minutes earlier, there might have been more options. It also took a while to flag someone down for boxes and the check once the place emptied out. Since I’m not from the area, I probably won’t return here for dim sum. However their Saturday-Sunday deal is really affordable — our whole meal was $ 20 and we took leftovers home.

Such delicious food at a great price. Dim sum has always been one of my favorite meals that eat. Saturday and Sunday only $ 1.80. It gets really busy and crowded around 12:30, so be prepared to wait. The older Chinese women really know how to sell the food. Smiles and all they don’t take no for an answer. My favorite would have to be the shrimp dumplings, fried shrimp, and sumai(shrimp & pork dimpling). I’ll admit I only eat the shrimp. It’s my second time here and it hasn’t disappointed me.

Good stuff here… especially on weekends until 3 pm That’s when the great deal of $ 1.80 for dim sum ends. I enjoyed myself today. Very first time for dim sum. I have had a couple of the items similar to what I had today… but it wasn’t the cool on the cart type service. It was like I was at a Chinese smörgåsbord! Keep that cart coming by with all the new goodies on it. I had a total of five servings… doubled up on the rice noodles with pork! I loved the soft texture of the noodles. One issue. They have a dim sum menu but my server said that I could not order off of it… I had to choose from what was on the cart. It appeared that the table next to me ordered the dishes that they wanted. Maybe she knew that I would eat anything and they wanted to push the cart items so they didn’t wind up tossing them out! No soda fountain… canned soda only. I will be back. Maybe i will get a different server that will let me order off of the dim sum menu!
