Food was ok, I order a small dinner, which was the rib sandwich and a small drink. Revieved half of a hoagie loaf for bread. That was different. The ribs were good, more fat than meat sauce was ok, very sweet. Establishment was very loud due to the radio and 3TV that were on 3 different stations. It was very hard to hear the cashier. She was nice and very pleasant. Its a consideration for a backup BBQ place.

Poor customer service especially the owner of the establishment. I called on December 23 about an order that was made which ended up being less online then in the store. The cashier on the phone said«the website is under construction, but I have the owner for you to speak with». When I got on the phone with the owner I told him about the prices and he said«that’s what it is». Then he hung up on me. No apologies or any price adjustment. Consumers beware please don’t spend your money with this restaurant because of poor customer service. A previous visit was just as bad because they gave me garlic toast, which is usually on white bread, but they used hamburger buns.

Ok, so I was really looking forward to this place, some of my co-workers say it’s great. Not such a good experience. Beef brisket sandwich was good but second bite I get huge hunk of fat ball. Brisket itself was tasty, but there is no way they didn’t notice the huge hunk of fat when making it. Same on the pork but not as big of a piece of fat, but still a good bit of fat in the pork as well. Both of us got fries and they were awful, not only cold but no salt and the grease taste was nasty. The portion was great on the pork sandwich though, but I have read that their sides suck and it appears they do. Two drinks to go, cokes, absolutely no carbonation… I told owner twice, first time didn’t respond. Online menu says pork sandwiches were suppose to have cole slaw on them but ours did not. I spoke to the owner Eric, really nice guy, so I will give them one more shot, but right now I could not recommend them.

I called in to do carry out order, but I was told that they don’t do that. They are still working out the online carry out order, but overall I can’t complain because what is most important is the food. It is always delicious and always has that home style flair. Chef Eric helped me order my food when I came in and went above and beyond helping me get my truck out of the parking lot when another customer blocked me in. I recommend the turkey ribs, the family size whole cut up chicken, the peach punch, pulled pork sandwiches, macaroni and cheese, yams, corn bread, and toast. Yes my family is full of big eaters.

I have to break down my experience in a few different ways, since my rating of 3 may be a bit misleading. I’ll start with the meat. The flavor of the meat deserves a 4.5. They definitely know how to smoke a butt. I didn’t actually have butt, but my true BBQ fans know what I mean by that. We ordered a rack of ribs which would cause somebody’s momma to get slapped; just not mine! You could taste the«low and slow» all on it and it was so tender that the slightest nibble would pull a nice chunk of meat right off the bone. Our experience began to decline from there. I wasn’t hungry when we found the place, but as soon as we saw the BBQ sign and the smoke truck out front, we had to check it out. Being out of the South for 3 yrs now, I was feenin’ for a good pulled pork sandwich with cole slaw on it. My wife went in to order while I stayed in the car with the baby. She says that she asked if the pork was pulled, and got a response of «yes», but that wasn’t no pulled pork. It was chipped, which doesn’t bode well for sandwiches. I say this because the chunks of pork fall off the bread; especially when you top it with the slaw. The chipped meat wasn’t bad, but not as tender as was the rib. Next, we have the sauce. It’s a home made sauce, and very well done, but one has to be a fan of sweeter sauces, and I’m not. I prefer bold and tangy sauce, but I recognize that it’s a matter of preference. The sauce was the consistency of Asian duck sauce. I wish they had a bolder or spicy version of it. Then we have the sides. The taste if the sides makes it evident that they focus all of their effort on the meat. I’m convinced that both the potato salad and the cole slaw were either store bought or bought from the same place the store gets theirs. Those that know home made sides know what I’m talking about. If somebody’s momma made them, they should be slapped for a different reason. Both lacked any type of seasoning, and if you’re gonna use mustard in your potato salad, you gotta use enough to taste. A little dill would hurt either. So, that’s my review. I encourage you to try them for yourself. Depending on where you’re from, you might disagree about the sauce, but don’t be surprised if you’re disappointed by the sides. Just get the ribs and let that be that. P. S. No offense to anybody’s momma. If your momma did make that potato salad, you better not try to slap her! I don’t condone the slapping of anybody’s momma.

Since it was the first time, I ordered a sampler platter. First bad sign, you’re a BBQ place and you’re out of pulled pork at 3:00 on a Friday. Brisket was good, tho it appeared it was pre-packaged. Chicken was good. The ribs were very tuff, my own are 100% better fall off the bone. The cole slaw looked so old I was afraid to taste it, just threw it out. Baked beans were just a bowl of mush, couldn’t even make out a bean. They went by way of the cole slaw. THEN, when my order was ready, they’re out of bags! Would not recommend this place, don’t know how they got the awards they claim to have won. Save your money, this place isn’t cheap…
