I had such a great experience at Dr. Walker’s office! His entire staff is welcoming, kind, and professional. Dr. Walker himself is very gentle. I had a root canal done today and felt almost no pain. I’m amazed. If you are seeking a dentist in Stillwater, look no further :)

I first came to Dr. Walker after recommendation from a friend when I first moved to Stillwater for my PhD program. I immediately loved the friendly atmosphere and the hygienists. Dr. Walker is one of the nicest, most thorough, and particular dentists I have been to. He even personally calls his patients the evening after a procedure to find out how you feel. I can’t say enough awesome things. After my OSU insurance dropped dental coverage, I decided to try to find a less expensive option, but that was HUGE mistake. I ended up saving a few dollars on the cleaning, only to later spend thousands on fixing the problem the other dentist caused. You can read about that awful experience on the My Dentist — Stillwater Unilocal page. When I came back to Dr. Walker’s office for a second opinion and to fix the pain I was having for months, he was wonderful and the office staff tried to fit me in as quickly as possible, even though it was during the holidays. I wouldn’t dream of going anywhere else for the remainder of my time in Stillwater.

Before I talk about Walker family dentistry, I would like to share a backstory. I’ve always been uncomfortable with the dentist. I’ve had multiple bad experiences and never a time in my life where I was cavity free, and I am 22 years old. The dentist I previously was going to just made me even more uncomfortable than usual and they were not on top of anything. I found out one of my molars needed a root canal. While trying to figure out my insurance with said dentist from before, it cracked and broke more making the procedure even more daunting. I started my dental work while in washington this summer but was unable to finish seeing as I had to come back to Oklahoma. I was determined to find a good dentist and finish the enormous amounts of work my mouth needed. I came across walker family and from the moment I walked in I was happy and excited. The dental assistants are all SO friendly, sincerely interested and talkative. They acted like they’d been seeing me forever! I had zero fear. Anxiety began to set in again… My temporary over my previously done root canal had broken and it was possible Id lost the work already done. And for a poor college student, the already steep prices of this kind of dental work didn’t make it any easier thinning about what more I could possibly need done. Come to find out, while waiting on my insurance to respond with their coverage the dentist only asked for 200 $ upfront. AMAZING. I have never been to a dentist that didn’t make me fork over the entire bill during the visit. Even with insurance, it can be pricey… Two weeks before scheduled appointment I got a phone call asking to come in because a spot opened. I explained I wouldn’t have the 200 $ yet and would need to wait the two weeks. I got a phone call again the day after about another opened spot. Again I explained(must have been a different receptionist) but this time they let me come in, no charge to pay until my insurance responded.(Praise Jesus. It’s terrible living with a half broken temporary in your mouth…) Relief at last. The work was finished this morning and the entire time I was comfortable and unafraid! I LOVED that they play Christian hits XM and it soothed me. I overheard dr walker multiple times with other patients and ALWAYS says«please call me anytime if you have any questions.» And gives his cell phone number. This evening, around 630, I received a call from him asking how I was doing. Talk about going above and beyond. Maybe I have just had poor dental experiences but Dr walker, I am sure, blows any other dentist out of the water. Sincere care and comfort, and a healed mouth I can go on happily!
