Boba is located in a strip mall outside the old Walmart. A classic Stillwater reference. The food here doesn’t match that terrible description, its actually quite good. Their prices were fare for dinner, thirty dollars would pay for a comfortable date. They don’t have too many options, so I usually go with the chicken options, spicy chicken is one of my favorites. Their steak choices are always a little tough.

Look, you guys need to serve some Phở. I know you get asked frequently, and you say you don’t want to do it. However, you’re really shooting yourself in the foot by not offering it. Noodle House is the only place in Stillwater that serves Phở, and it’s depressingly poor quality and extremely over priced. That said, I love several things on the menu at Boba. Boba has not only awesome food, but also an awesome staff. They are all very friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend eating here. I have deducted two stars, however. The spicy salmon sushi is an awesome dish that they serve. I’ve ordered it 6 or so times. And, I’d say that dish was awesome 3 times, and a disaster 3 times. It’s not a regular item, so I can understand the inconsistency. But, for a dish that expensive, one expects it to be done right, every time. I’m trying to have lunch, not gamble. Add to that the lack of Phở, and I can only give 3 stars. When Phở is available, I’ll review this restaurant another time.

It’s well worth a try! If you’re thinking about this place go ahead and go inside. I told the cashier it was my first time and she pointed me to some local favorites. I was really pleased with the flavors and size of my E4. I’m so glad I stopped in today and can’t wait to return with my family.

Truly a hidden gem in Stillwater. They have traditional Asian cuisine and they have the best Lemonade smoothies! Would recommend this place to anynone on a hot summer day because their drinks are the best!

Food was ok. Did not feel it was worthy of a 5 star rating even with such a small number of overall reviews. If this is the best Stillwater has to offer, it’s a sad commentary on the overall culinary scene l in Stillwater.

Smoked salmon was my starter and blew my mind. I have had sushi in big cities such as New York, San Francisco, Qatar, London, Paris, etc. But this sushi belongs in a big city and it would probably be at the top of the list. Underpriced for $ 12, it was smokey and still held warm char marks of the smoker. The triple cup squid was a bit overpowering with the ingredients and the squid was overcooked. However, the melon sides and broccoli with cashews were unexpected and confusing, like bacon and chocolate, it was savory, sweet, crunchy, and cleansing. They were well prepared and delicious.

Love the Taiwanese beef noodle and three cup chicken. We have to line up on the cashier, order and pay, and get numbers. Sometimes we have to stand in line for quite a while. They are not a full service restaurant and the food takes a lil bit longer to come out. They have cakes too which taste delicious and they have unique flavor like taro cake, etc

We really enjoyed this place and will definitely be back. Service and food were both great.(We had egg rolls, dumplings, rice, and spicy beef.) I am deducting one star because the seasoning was uneven(some dishes needed more salt, while some were unpleasantly salty).

My favorite restaurant in Stillwater. They have a great spicy beef noodle soup that I always get when I feel a cold coming on that does wonders for me. The food tends to be on the spicy side so be aware of that when telling them what spice level you want. The presentation of the food is really nice for a café. They also have a wide selection of really cool drinks both hot and frozen.

This is the best place to eat in Stillwater. It’s really good Asian food but some dishes have other influences, I guess that’s the fusion part. The atmosphere is café style. The folks who own it are willing to make substitutions on a lot of the dishes

What a find! We travel often and like to try things we don’t see in every town.(you know, Applebee’s, rib crib, etc). I definitely wasn’t in Kansas anymore. Fried Calamari served on a bed of cilantro and garlic was tender. Sweet and Sour Chicken served spicy(3) was perfect.

Review edited on: January 142015 Visited on: multiple dates from 2013 to present To date, the closest thing I’ve found to authentic Chinese food in Stillwater. This place is like an oasis in what is otherwise a culinary desert of misrepresentative, trying-too-hard-and-still-failing«ethnic» restaurants(I’m looking at you, Main Street Noodles). Okay, this is still Stillwater, so most of Boba’s offerings are still Americanized to some degree, but not as badly as at other places, including its cross-town rival Café 88. They also serve some dishes(or interpretations thereof) from Japanese, Korean, and Thai cuisines, in keeping with the«fusion» part of their name. For those of you who want to try actual authentic Chinese dishes, there are the much-vaunted **chef’s specials**, which are separate from the regular menu in that they vary from day to day. First let’s tackle what I’ve had on the regular menu: A1 — Egg Rolls(Chicken) — just okay. It didn’t quite have the crispy/flaky skin that it’s supposed to; it had a softer skin instead. B3 — Seafood Kimchi Pot — alright, I didn’t like some of the vegetables they used E2 — Three Cup Chicken(san bei ji) — good, but it’s not authentic; it has a weird breading E3 — Spicy Chicken(la zi ji) — good, but it’s not authentic; it doesn’t have the breading it’s supposed to have, and it’s not deep-fried or served with all the red peppers! I feel like this and Three Cup Chicken need to switch recipes. E12 — Sesame Chicken — good texture, sweet sauce wasn’t great but it wasn’t too bad either N3 — Fusion Noodle(with pork) — quite tasty and good N4 — Spicy Beef Noodle — good, though it’s pretty damn spicy N5 — Beef Noodle Soup — super good and authentic! They even use star anise in their broth! Imagine that! Iced Coffee(with Hazelnut) — decent Vietnamese Coffee — decent Strawberry Smoothie — decent Strawberry Mousse Cake — decent Okay, now on to the good stuff — the chef’s specials. These are not to be confused with«Boba Specials»(B1-B4) on the regular menu. The chef’s specials are written on a chalkboard at the front entrance. A picture of this chalkboard is posted on Boba’s Facebook page sometime in the early afternoon of the day those specials are being served(or earlier if the special is for lunch), and then THERACEISON! as every Chinese person in Stillwater descends on Boba within a few hours after that Facebook picture goes up, snapping up the specials like hotcakes — reportedly, people often buy multiple orders of the special, one to eat there and one to take home for later. So if you want the special, you have to wait until the day of to know what it’ll be, you have to be monitoring their Facebook page like a hawk, and once you see what the special is and decide that you want it, you have to get on top of that shit fast. Specials usually sell out by 6 or 7PM. That said, here are the specials I’ve had the privilege of feasting on: — Oyakodon(qin zi dong) — a Japanese dish, it’s good, though I’m not really familiar with it. — Braised Pork(hong shao rou) — omg this is SOGOOD. Tender, succulent pork belly in an addictively delicious sauce. — Taiwanese Sausage with Pork and Rice(Taiwan xiangchang rou dao fan) — good — Braised Chicken Leg(lu ji tui) — good — Braised Lion’s Head(hong shao shizi tou) — this was okay. They could’ve used more actual lion’s head and less annoying veggies. — Bacon Beancurd Stirfry(dou gan chao wu hua) — very good. This actually kinda sorta comes close to my favorite suan miao la rou, though not really. — Potato Braised Pork(tu dou shao rou) — delicious! The potatoes were nicely boiled and had perfect texture, and the sauce was savory and good. This place really does braised pork well. — Double Cooked Pork(hui guo rou) — not bad, but not what I expected; they used weird ingredients like wood ear mushroom that felt out of place, and to my disappointment, they didn’t use leeks. The pork belly was cut a little too small and the texture was inconsistent. — Fresh Tuna Bowl(wei yu gai fan) — good texture, mayo and sriracha were fine but I would’ve preferred a more savory seasoning — Spicy Beef Shank(la chao niu jin) — tasty, though ligament was kinda tough — Salt Pepper Pork Loin(jiao yan li ji rou) — nicely flavored, texture was like chicken(not that that’s a bad thing, just surprising) — Spicy Pork Rib Pot(gan guo pai gu) — very savory and good, but I wasn’t a fan of the basil and there were too many peppercorns — Salt and Pepper Basa Fish Filet(Jiao Yan Yu Pian) — very good One weakness is the vegetable selection, by which I mean a small side dish or two of vegetables that come with the main entrée. They’re usually bland, or sometimes gingery-tasting, and generally weird. Aside from the food, this place gets points for its nice décor and clean-feeling atmosphere(something that’s NOT typical for authentic Chinese restaurants!) and its friendly service.

What an awesome find in Stillwater. Had no idea it existed, since it is hidden in the shopping center on the north of Walmart. Best Calamari I have ever had. Cooked with fresh herbs. The fish special was awesome as well.

I like this place a lot. Not an average Asian food and they are not affraid to make it really spicy to order(I like realy spicy food and 4 was reasonably spicy, their scale is 1 – 5). They have an interesting menu containing various dishes — fusion in the name of the restaurant says it all — Korean, Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese — inspired food. They offer sweet desserts and also Vietnamese coffee, not to mention cold beer. The food has also above average presentation for a restaurant where you order at the counter.

Had the spicy chicken at level 3 spicy(1 – 5). Very good. They also have beer, that’s good for cooling down while eating. Even 3 was quite spicy for me(I don’t think I’ll go to four. Marketa was here 3 times already and always enjoyed it.

This is it! A great new restaurant in Stillwater. Since STW already has a few good East Asian restaurants this doesn’t fill a hole, but as probably the best restaurant in town, who could complain? The menu is similar to, but by no means identical to, the menu at Café 88, an excellent hole in the wall near campus and formerly the best East Asian restaurant in STW. Unlike that restaurant, Boba is spacious with lots of comfortable seating. You order at the counter and are served at your table. The staff is very friendly and efficient. The food is spectacularly fresh and flavorful. I had Teppanyaki Tofu, large chunks of fried soft tofu(not greasy!) mixed with small amounts of sauteed bell pepper, shiitake, sliced garlic, yellow and green onions, carrots, chopped fresh hot red chiles(I ordered it **spicy, an option) on a hot plate with a very rich, but thin sauce. It was simply perfect and unlike any other dish available in town. It came with two sides – steamed but still slightly crunchy cauliflower in a light curry sauce and a noodle salad(maybe buckwheat or bean – not sure) with a subtle tangy dressing. Both excellent. My wife had spicy chicken that was loaded with tender chicken, fresh veggies, and fresh chiles(not flakes of crushed dried chiles fortunately!). Overall, the food is extremely fresh and tasty and we can’t wait to go back!
