Kudos for a job well done. I was caught in the middle of an ex-employer’s bankruptcy, with the assignment company coming after me for a substantial amount of money. Even though it was a mistake, they kept coming, hoping for the best.
I retained Mr. Esbin after his consultation, and the end result was positive in my favor.

If I could rate zero stars, I would. We were in a world of hurt a few years back — job loss, home loss, complex tax debt, etc. Mr. Esbin filed bankruptcy on our behalf TWICE before obtaining enough information from us, and consequently had to WITHDRAW each bankruptcy. So now we have TWO dismissed bankruptcies on our credit report — not discharged — dismissed. Even though the dismissals were «voluntary» it is a far worse mark on a credit report and there is no way to remove them. He took $ 9000 from us, referred us to an inept tax attorney named Pat McGinnis (in Beverly Hills) who at least had the decency to refund us our retainer. After months and months and months of trying to communicate with Mr. Esbin (I’ve got all the emails to prove it) he and his entire office staff just stopped talking to us. He filed two bankruptcies, withdrew them, kept our money, and walked away. These bankruptcies will not fall off our reports until 2022, and we got no benefit of bankruptcy. None. Our daughter will not go to college with any help from us, and we’ll never retire. He’s inept and a thief. The worst kind. The kind with a law degree.

We had personally used (interviewed) Lou back in 2007, he gave us sage advice, that was different than the other BK «experts» we had interviewed.
Back then, we did not claim BK, due to Lou’s advice and are today so much better for it.
That initial consult costed us $ 100 bucks and it was the best money we had ever spent.
One of the things that I think people miss is the attorney is not in place so we can date them.
I could have cared less how «warm and fuzzy» Lou was to me. I needed someone that was not going to run me around the «maypole» trying to squeeze me for every cent they could obtain.
Having said that, I did not get a «demeaning» or «arrogant» feeling from Lou, his staff or anyone that we dealt with in his office. He was professional and «shot straight from the hip».
I have referred several of my close family and friends, at the risk of not having it go as it did with me. They have all relayed, just what my review states, Lou is worth a 5 star rating.

He is an arrogant uncaring typical attorney know it all. I had a bankruptcy that he filed for me and he made me feel beneath him. He was condescending and rude. Stay away from him. I would not recommended him

Lou met with all of us in his offices on the Old Road in Santa Clarita Valley CA.
I had hear around town he was the Go to for BK assistance, and the suggestion we had received was not only the best advice I had gotten since my dad said, «Son, don’t put your tongue on that frozen iron pole…», but it was also 100% correct.
He is the Go To for BK in the Los Angeles areas. After sitting down with Lou for 20 minutes, you could see the pain leave my relatives face. She was calm and now had a plan of action that would going to relieve her pain that had caused her so many sleepless nights.

Once in While you meet someone that is a true professional in their field. I wish it was more often. Lou and I met about 8 years ago through a fellow networking in our networking group Dynamic Networking Alliance. In 2006 business was good I had not met anyone who had lost their house in our group in any of the prior years. I a matter of a couple years I have referred quite a few clients and friends to Lou. Just because I knew he would know what the would need and provide the services they needed. All the feedback I received was nothing but great. In our conversations recently we discussed the need for people to get control of their financial future long before it became a critical situation. This man saved my home and finances as well as my sanity. I had sleepless nights, and couldn’t think or see straight. All I could think of was, how was I going to take care of my family. I don’t think it’s wise to choose your lawyers as to whether or not they have water, but they offered some to me!
