Melodee Music

Went there today to pick up a headstock tuner and amp cord. People there were helpful and pleasant. I am a guitar guy. The store is heavy on Fenders and PRS (I’m a Ric and Gretsch guy) but nice selection and prices seemed in line with any other shop I have been to. Nice shop and seemed very supportive of local musicians as opposed to the big box stores that are only there to sell product.

They did me a real solid favor by letting me exchange something for another color even though it was technically against their policy. That’s the kind of thing that makes someone a customer for life.

I grew up in Sterling Park, and went here at the tender age of thirteen to buy my first guitar. Because they were the only game in town for music gear at the time, I shopped here several times out of necessity, and always found the staff to vacillate between disinterest, ambivalence, and outright hostility. So grateful to never have to set foot in this place again, and I strongly encourage you to shop elsewhere. Even the dreaded Guitar Center — a place I have only contempt for — is an improvement over Melodee Music.

I think paying customers get on their nerves? I would suggest you go elsewhere. Staff is disengaged and their prices are high. Bought an instrument there and struggled to get it out to the car. The owner was standing right there and didn’t even hold the door open for me. Clearly, they do not place a premium on their customers. Their prices are high and I have since learned that I overpaid for what I bought there. I Do not recommend the store.

For music lesson they have been fine often flexible which is appreciated in the busy life of a teen aged child. I would heartily recommend them to parents,

I went there to buy my FIRST electric guitar and was shocked. I got plenty of offers for help but when it came down to the product that I wanted… I went to the cashier dude and asked for a certian guitar that included the amp, strap. etc and he said «oh, ok.» He walked over to the box that was sitting near the back and walked back over to the counter. I waited for something that reassured me that they had it or something but he never said anything. SO… I walked over to the check out and he rang me up for the guitar kit I asked for and told me the total. He told me the total. I paid and then he handed me the slip without a thank you. I waited for a couple of minutes but then decided to ask if someone was bringing the equip down or something because I know by the weight of the box in my my curiousity that there was no guitar in it. He said everything is ready to go and I replied that there was nothing in the box. He said, «oh» and was gone to the back for several minutes. He came back with a different guitar (one that I didn’t want) and said that the only one they had was the display.
I of course was not happy with getting the display after paying over $ 250 for my first guitar. I thought about it and decided to take it but was very unhappy with the total disregard for if they even had the thing in stock and then trying to corner me into getting the display which I didn’t want.
I felt very cheated and unhappy when I left the store.
