Cristar Garage Door and Controls

I had a door installed by these people 18 years ago. The initial installation was problematic. They installed the motor on the wrong side of the opening. In the 18 years the door has broken 3 times. The first time it cost $ 150 to repair. The second time it was about 700 for the same problem. It broke again on Friday. I called for service on Friday and left a message. I called again on Monday early. I was told someone would be there sometime today. By 3 pm nobody had shown up. I called 5 times to find out when they were coming. I left a message. After an hour of hearing from nobody, I called again and explained to the receptionist my problem. She put me in touch with someone who put me in touch with the person I had been trying to call. They tell me they wont be there today but will try tomorrow. Nobody called to tell me this and then they have the nerve to tell me they don’t do residential. I am a business and they didn’t have any trouble selling me the door! Try someone else!

I have been a loyal customer of Cristar for almost 7 years. I originally found them after I bought a garage door opener from Lowes and paid Lowes to install it, which really means, Lowes contracts it out to the lowest bidder. Due to the ceiling constraints of my garage, I had to purchase the iDrive opener… which is specialized, especially for 7 years ago. The contractor Lowes sent had no clue how to install it, and actually broke it. Lowes sent a new unit and Cristar Garage Door to install it. They installed it and have been amazing ever since. The opener is temperamental, especially in the Nova summer humidity… and the service technicians always offer us great tips on how to make it operate more efficiently. They even told us about how the original iDrives went off the market because of motor issues, so when ours started to go, they recommended we call Wayne Dalton… got a free replacement unit sent to the house… saved us about $ 350 (cost of an iDrive)…thank you Cristar! I call them for any issue we have and refer them to all our friends/​neighbors. A definite good guy!
